@birdman#12, are you so sure Johnson and Siri have cost us the first round bye? No chance Rams divisional rival that plays Niners very tough can beat them? I think we have a crap at the top seed. I’m not conceding the number one seed just yet Birdman.

There's always a chance with a divisional rival but I find it unlikely......and it's true, with 2 games to go, anything can happen.

So if the Rams beat Niners does that make us the 1 seed?

I mean yea as long as we win lol well might go to Detroit if they win…

Best outcome would be us winning and Detroit and SF losing…. Even if that means Dallas wins

I favored Allen. But I’ve always maintained that I expected Covey to improve. Thought it was a good battle and made the case for both players in the PS. He looks good returning….other than that little fumbled punt catch though last night….after the opening huge return.Cusp of Pro Bowl P returner in fact.

I always thought Covey was and is a reliable but not spectacular returner.. Personally i'd rather have that than someone who you hold your breath on every punt but has a chance to break the big one

Sadly  i think we have to root for the Cowboys. I believe Detroit owns the tie brwaker if we both win out.

Which given the 2 schedules is such a nonsense that they’d get it over us!

30-25 is not dominating. If we are that vulnernable to "fluke" plays, then we can't withstand "bad" ref calls. You know those 1 calls that turn games around? Slayton is NOT a #1 WR,he was beating us deep consistently(even if the pass was not to him he was winning that battle). The opening Covey run back and awesome field position to make it easy for us to to score was the game. If that score doesn't happen we LOSE. We let CRAP teams come back or hang around. There is no "put them away" mentality and it bothers ME(personally). I was sitting on the sofa calling out the next play to my son in law. He said how do you know. I said because we are predictable. Any HS coach can do this same thing(call what's coming). I mean maybe if this was an away game I could call it a "satisfactory" win,but there is no way this should have even been close. If we play like this we're 1 and done in the playoffs. JMO,but the team looks like it's going through the motions only. I want "Hunger" and "fire" and I'm not seeing it. The W's look good, but it's all deception because when it comes to running with the big dogs,we are staying on the porch. First 1/4 was nice to see Goedert going downfield on routes(which I keep preaching), then we reverted back to the sideline BS plays that don't work. It was nice seeing Covey play a few "other" snaps. It was ALMOST like we were innovating(but it was just my imagination). I will admit I missed some of the game opening gifts. I'm just responding to what I saw. DeVito had WAY too much time to throw. Not a good ROI with the investment made on the D line. They aren't getting home and the secondary is weak(which we all know). The Ravens would carve us up(and it wouldn't be close). Stopping the opponents running game is great, that just exposes how crap our secondary is. It does not good to stop the running game if you are that inept at covering the passing game. The Gnats are trash and we made them look like contenders. At least we got to 30 PPG. We're doing the minimum possible and it shows

So you anticipate running into a teammate on kickoff return and Goedert slipping a normal occurrence?

28 to 14 first downs.... like 470 to 295 in yards.     3rd down was 8 -15 vs. 4 of 14.

It was absolutely dominant except for the fluke plays.   If it was reversed the conversation wouldn't be that it was close....it would be how we got dominated and were lucky to have the score close.

Was anyone really angry at coaching or anything else on the play Goedert slipped?  The throw would have hit him right in the chest.

On the kick return... was it coaching or play calling?   If you were coach what would you have done differently?

Hurts 301 yards passing....both Giants combined for 188

Our RBs ran for 136 yards... they only had Barkley run for 80.

But it wasn't dominant?

I don't think i've ever felt worse after a win.

Really good 1st half then they played like the Keystone Cops in the 2nd.

They had 3 fluke plays in the 2nd half

Two games to go and have a legit shot at the top seed. I don’t know where everybody else expectations were to start the season?

Wasn't everyone looking at getting the top seed?

Feels like many are Judging on ….not prettty enough. Not clean enough. Not smooth enough. Not dominating enough.

 How about judging the 11-4?

11-4 looks great to me for this year’s squad. Very very pleased to have that record. NFL is about Wins and Losses…more than anything. Ravens in the other conference are the only team with a better record than us. Second best record in the league. C’mon people. 11-4 heck yeah!!!!!

Did someone hack your account?

I guess I look at it as the season is now in december and the offense hasn't improved over 15 games.  They continue to do the same mistakes that usually cost teams a lot in the playoffs.

This was the giants a the Linc......a below average team that the eagles couldn't put away until the last second.  If it were september or october, they could have the time to correct the problems.....it's december, with 2 games left and they still haven't put together a solid 60 minutes.

I've lost some respect for Sirianni because he's let these offensive problems continue week to week.  His misplaced confidence in bryan johnson has cost them the 1st round bye and still could cost them the division.

There is no justification for the eagles with all the talent they have on offense with talented RBs, 2 dangerous WR and top 5 TE, a very strong offensive line and Hurts to constantly be poor in the red zone, being careless with the ball and being unbelievably predictable.

But I see the same poor play calls, the bad situational calls, the same designed run calls for Hurts that risks his health, a passing game with too many come back routes and very little use of the backs.  They can't run a screen pass......

We can debate this over and over....... a win is all that matters.....but it's going to get harder over the next few weeks as teams want to play spoiler and then the playoffs.  The eagles haven't improved offensively in 15 weeks.......I just don't see how they improve in the next 2 to make a playoff run.

So we scored 33..... Goedert slipped on the pick 6.    They were 24 yards shy of getting 500.   8 for 15 on 3rd down....2 for 2 on 4th down.

What are we looking for on offense?   50 points?   Or is it like a video game where we score a TD every possession?

I'm just curious?   RBs 136 yards rushing QB over 300 yards passing.    What do we need to see to make you feel good offensively?

The common opponents....which are teams we both play....would go to Detroit.     So very hard for us to complain about that...

Both lost to Seattle....both beat KC...  comes down to Dallas and Minnesota.  3 games each there.... we are 2-1... if they beat Dallas and Minnesota...they go 3-0.

So we need them to lose.   At 12-5 tie we could get the edge ( depending on the strength of victory)... at 13-4 tie it could goes to Detroit

This we knew looking at the schedule months ago.

We finish we 3 gamed where neither opponent needs to win.

Detroit, SF and Dallas all play teams that are needing to win to get in.

We had the 6 game gauntlet.

" No Mas crazy math where I said 3 -3 could still get us the 1 seed...but I said it looks really good at 4-2 ... after winning 3, I said the Seattle game would be key to beating Detroit and it would force SF to go undefeated.

You look at things now....  the last drive vs Seattle is the difference.   Using No Mas of course.   Funny though how No Mas math was actually correct though.

Now the best 49er team in their history and possibly the best team ever assembled... some of their local fans on here are thinking they could lose.

Something must have been in that eggnog?

The anger on here should be directed towards the last drive in Seattle.   That is costing us the top seed right now...and the 2 game edge over Dallas... and one game, plus tiebreaker over Detroit.

We were set up to lose vs SF and Dallas.  Seattle we got a break moving it to Monday night...   dominated on defense for 58 minutes....then absolutely sucked on one drive that cost us the most right now.

IDK actually the opening return from Covey was a fluke play? And I think we got away with a PI on like the 3rd play from the end which if flagged could have allowed them a TD for the win. So flukes run both ways. IDK I see inconsistency. We win games but it's on bursts of output, then we take 15 minutes off. I can't explain it,it's just WEIRD. It's like we try to kill our own momentum.

With those stats I would have expected to score 41(that would be dominant). And face it the opening SHORT SHORT drive was a gimme 7. So all those stats produce 23 points(roughly the stats and points the gnats had). Moving the ball and failing to score is an issue

We have strength of schedule on Detroit….but they’d be beating a common opponent.

I kind of thought Allen had bigger potential upside. Not just at returner…but as an offensive weapon. I never was really against Covey though. Heck starting to think Covey or Allen could be better for us than Quez now at WR.

Most here will blame Hurts for too many turnovers. Like he made Goedert slip.

Nope figured Niners had that. Had an outside shot

Every team has the "goedert botch". You have to expect those and some bad calls as the refs especially suck this year. No team executes to perfection. But we're getting beat deep as we are annually, and I expected that, but we're allowing way too much time for QB's the throw. Even an inept 1(or 2) will just kill you given enough time. So although we are stuffing the run,we are only picking our poison as teams can throw on us. Ravens look like SB champs. They had the niners on the run in every aspect(aka dominant). Very well balanced offense and defense. They can beat you both ways. I was pleased to see calc finally make a contribution. I though he had loads of potential. That was also a "fluke" play, but I was happy that he got his first NFL catch and can put a ball on the mantel. Now can we build off that?? Or is is back to no name Calcaterra? Hurts needs to see and HIT all these weapons. he looked real sharp the first 1/4(then I had to break away for gift opening LOL) We can beat the .500 teams, but we don't look that hot going into the playoffs as things stand. Snuck by Dullaz at home, beaten soundly at ATT. I was pleasantly surprised we beat Buffalo. KC can be beaten now and so can the niners. I'll take the win after the 3 week slump, but again beating .500 teams doesn't tell us much. Only that we can beat .500 teams
