I am with BG on this one...I think the Jets are absolutely trying to trade down from 2.  If not ,  can also see them taking Sewell.

I just feel  Carolina ends up picking 2nd.  Unless they get Watson. Who knows.

Depends how Carolina feels about the QB board. I think they could move to 4,IDK that they have the draft capital to go to 2

What's he supposed to say "Oh I came here cause Darnold is out?" lol. Means nothing at all

SO what if the Jets wanted to sell the farm for Lawrence? Can't rule that out quite yet either

Right, so you agree he isn't all that anymore. He can for sure help a team... one that has good pieces in place. Much different than what Pitts has the potential to do.

He will get a job, no doubt.  Trade value,  just don't see it.   Don't think he moves the needle enough for a team to give up anything plus have to pay him.  Not with one year left on his deal .... and yes I know " the new team can negotiate a new deal... etc"   and I counter if a new deal is in the works, and everyone else knows it, that takes away 3rd team from wanting to trade for him knowing he has a deal on place with another team.  The entire planet knows the Eagles could use the cap space and that Ertz wants out.  Just no leverage,  let him go and move on.

I agree he played like crap when healthy. I am not so sure "he isn't all that anymore". There was allot going on last year for him. Both physical and mental. Maybe all that player into his performance. Or maybe you are right and he just degressed that much. The point is he hurt his chances of getting a better deal and may not ever get that deal now. Maybe his best shot is to stay put and play his ass off this year then hit Free agency....

Except the birds aren't going to pay him. It would require a complete contract re-do and a rate he wouldn't be happy with lol

Move from 2 to 1 is totally doable. Jags get more picks and take QB #2. They might be up for that. Can't rule that out

The thing is, if you are the Jets... and if you want Darnold, and if you prefer pick 8 plus anything additional, more than you like anyone at pick #2.   It could be enough to trade back.  Each year it's different depending upon the situations of both teams.

Absolutely not.  The Jets are a key team in this draft...probably THE key team.   I think keeping Darnold has to be an option for them.   If they like him, they are in a rare spot with that high of a pick and being ok not to go QB.  Lots of options.

I don't think he is crap.  Big difference from crap to not being " all that "  I just think a big thing for him was his usage...like a basketball player taking a lot of shots, doesn't necessarily mean he is a good scorer.   He's a guy to me that takes advantage of his teammates getting the attention.  He didn't have that the last couple of seasons.   He drew some top CBS and was a non factor at times.  He doesn't block well. Doesn't run after the catch well.   So he needs the pieces around him.  I don't think teams see him as a difference maker on his own, more of a final piece thing.  I don't see teams giving up anything for him at this stage.  I think we could have received a 3rd rounded early last year, that team could have used him last year before deciding what to do... it's just bad timing now. Zero leverage.

Yeah so, I mean everyone thinks the Jets could move, but noone has considered if the Jags would move back to 2. Although it 's "assumed" they take Lawrence, we saw him(Lawrence) go down like Mahomes did in the SB, so that would be a ? mark if I was Jax. They need to ask themselves how far along are we? Is this team ready to strike/make a run in the next 2 years? They could trade back to 2, suck again and get my NC QB in next years draft. IDK this will be one of the most interesting round 1/top 10 drafts I can recall

I found this VERY interesting. And I dont remember getting him. Kalil Tate is listed on our roster as a WR. He was actually a QB at ZONA. I watched his highlights. QB 3 could already be on our roster(same style as Hurts too) But why list him as a WR?

Because that's the position he prefers to play primarily?

Probably Right at this point. I guess it depends on HR's stubbornness. He was dead set on getting a return for Ertz. He may keep him and see what unfolds. Not fair for him to be sure. Ertz does deserve better, but this is a business and I have seen worse. Look at Dawkins and see how that was handled.....

Didn't Ertz make the last SB TD play?

I don't know much if anything about college ball... but I've heard about Lawrence for 3 years now...the " LeBron James of football"  and all this other stuff.   I'd be surprised if this former college coach doesn't draft him 1st.

Greg Ward came out of college as a QB lot of college QBs transition to WR in the nfl not sure why take it up with the nfl lol...But  Terrell Pryor is another example Julian Eldman

We waived Burnett

Why would I take it up with the NFL? Just saying he looked adequate as a #3 QB prospect

IDK Ham, for me there is a difference between a running QB and a "mobile" one

Gotta be able to throw the ball. Being able to hash a team with the run always has made the passing game easier. Add a QB racking up yards and those passing lanes open up even more. So a QB that can run the ball....doesn’t have to throw for the same yards as a traditional pocket passer.

They are your top fantasy QB.   But those guys are QBs that can run... difference between them and guys like Hurts, Murray, Tua, Lamar...etc.

The thing that it comes down to is that it's always a team game,  the blocking needs to be there as well as the guys catching the ball.

Going overboard on the mobility aspect is ideal for anyone trying to justify Hurts as an NFL QB.  Without that part , he was pretty much useless.

But it's interesting.  Getting excited about an offense with a short passing game that gets the ball out of the QB'S hands real quickly.  Seems pretty much a waste of having a mobile QB?   Also it should be obvious it puts pressure on the WRs to get open quickly, something that can be hard to do vs press coverage.   Idk why this idea of where that could be the proper fit with our current players?

Hurts threw for 340 yards in two of his three starts. Add in the rushing yards on top of that. That’s a weapon!

Tom Pelissero on Twitter: "The #Packers are re-signing CB Kevin King to a one-year, $6 million deal, source said." / Twitter

This is a serious overpay, especially since they are in great position to draft a corner.

At this point, start Craig James, hope the scheme change benefits Michael Jacquet and draft someone in the first three rounds seems like a better plan than seriously overpaying someone.

James obviously showed the previous regime he can play.
