I expect we need zone corner types. Not really what Horn is. He thrives in press man coverage. I’m thinking Campbell would be pretty ideal.

I like Molden. He seems aggressive and I'd like that from our CB's

The premier nickel prospect in this draft class, Molden was the leader of a talented Washington Huskies secondary. With All-American and All-Conference honors on his resumé, he is the prototypical versatile nickel that the NFL game has turned into a critical piece to a successful defense. Wins with elite football acumen in all phases of the game, displaying a natural feel for how offenses are trying to attack in the run game and the passing game. Seems to me he is ready to roll. He is my 37 pick. IDK what more you can ask from your CB. Seems to be a complete CB and IMO a steal at 37. Not too far down from the round 1 guys

Great another slot corner. So yeah...I’d ask for a guy that can play outside at 37.

Smith or Waddle seem like the odds on favorites

So they won’t be the picks lol we never pick the favorites.. I think we end up moving back up to many reports talking about it for it to be fake

Why do i get this sick feeling in my stomach that Howie is gonna pick some off the wall turd?

Possibility of Lurie paying writers for fake stories?

Eagles never draft LBers, but if Parsons is still there at 12......what do you think? I dont watch Penn State but I know a lot of you guys in or near Philadelphia do. Is he a game changer at the NFL level?

Yeah.I'm sure he's WAY to stupid to learn anything else, but we're fine wasting time trying to convert RB's into WR's🤣 Ham,you also said JJ was "just another slot receiver" and we got your guy Reagor. When does he plan on showing up? It amazes me how you guys label college players and put them in a box. So yeah Molden is too stupid, because "well thats where he played in college" At any rate, he has played out some and also played FS. He has most experience in the slot, but why are you limiting to that role?

https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/avonte-maddox/50543    Yeah Ham no need to upgrade here. We got this. If we're going to face the JJ's of the world, don't you think we should find a guy who can cover them? Get out of "win now" mode and plan ahead

IMO………yes! If he is still there (and Pitts is already taken) I would have the card ready for him at light speed.

Maybe not paying they per say but perhaps the organization is purposely feeding them false information to put out there.

To me it's coincidence... it says the teams who didn't win simply failed to finish the puzzle.

But to the Eagles with the analytics... yeah, I can see them using this as an argument not to draft a WR.  Especially since they did it last year.  They would look further into the idea of going back to back at WR.   Sorry, I just don't see it. Not from the Eagles.

Btw...  where was the Superbowl champion... Nelson Agholor drafted?  I think you forgot him in this analysis.

Oh boy. How could I forget that!  lol

In his recent FMIA piece, Peter King points out that receivers drafted in the 2nd round are equally productive as those drafted in the 1st (data since 2016):

Quote

In the last five drafts, 17 wideouts have gone in first rounds, with 26 second-rounders. Breaking it down by production in an average season shows second-rounders have been close to the production level of the top picks.

  • Average season of all 1st-round wide receivers drafted since 2016: 42.3 receptions, 600.5 yards, 14.2 yards per catch.
  • Average season of all 2nd-round wide receivers drafted since 2016: 42.5 receptions, 538.7 yards, 12.7 yards per catch.

I've given that some thought before and was mostly in agreement (the only player that I'd have a change of heart about that would be Chase).  Now that we are surely out on Chase following the move to 12, I do think we should address needs elsewhere with that 12th pick and look at WR on day 2.  Still holding out hope that we land one of either Horn or Surtain.

Waddle is every bit as good as Chase and he is also a leading returner. WR and CB are both deep classes.Either way would work. Lots of 3rd rounders will work, so all positions should be on the board

Once again though, when we drafted these WR's, we had other ones in place that were NOT PS WR's. We had players and were trying to improve the position with the draft pick. Now we have only Reagor(ZZZZZZ) and the "veteran" is Fulgham or Jjaw? There is no Djax, no Alshon, we are BARREN at WR and if there are no weapons for Hurts,we will be right back in the Wentz situation, blaming a QB who has no tools. SO if you want to(or not) give Hurts a fighting chance at success,we'd better get him some receivers with talent. I was proud of how the PS receivers stepped up, but surely one can't mistake them for top tier talent. WR room needs a solid core and we need to put a more talented CORPS on the field and we don't have it. I would opt for a top tier WR at 12 then even BTB CB's or at 37 and 84 maybe with a LB at 70

Most know I don't go out of my way to listen to Mel Kiper, but he did have a phrase HR needs to hear - "Ana'LIE'tics

Well, WE do not know what Reagor can do as yet so need to give him time. GB Packers top 3 WR's were drafted in the 2nd, 5th and signed as a FA. It can be said that had they drafted one in the first round instead of a QB that they might have made the SB. Not a sure thing, however, the point being we may have a solid WR on our roster that will surface this year. But drafting one in the 2nd or 3rd round should be enough this year. Maybe get a solid RB also? all the rest of the top picks in the first 4 rounds should be defensive players IMO...

I want corners to be able to play both. At least the potential needs to be there. We need the flexibility to play either based on competition.

My thinking as well.  If statistically there isn't a difference in production from receivers drafted in 2nd when compared to those drafted in 1st, it seems to make sense to address another position of need (with a highly ranked player) at another position and shoot for a WR on day 2.  Should be a few solid options to choose from (Marshall, Bateman, Toney, Moore, etc.).

It interesting listening to people try and figure out Gannon and the importance on CBs To him . On one end CB was highly valued by his mentor Zimmer spent couple high picks on guys but in Indy they didn’t put CBs at the premium took guys tad later heard that had lot to do with the scheme they ran.

I have stated that I thought the mid rounds 2-3 was the money round for CBs.

Reagor, that is ONE WR out of 3 needed.ONE. I suppose that is terrific for a supposed ONE read QB since he only needs ONE. Depends for me, if Waddle is there, I am taking him. You'd be foolish not to. BTW I cannot compare us to GB as far as developing WR's WORLDS apart. Maybe we close the gap a bit with this new staff, but we won;t know that either unless we get some top tier talent in here

"statistically" it depends where all those guys went. Cooper would have sucked here last year,so would any of the top WR's. A round 5 WR would look great in Tampa simply because there is a TEAM around him

Caplan saying Ertz will definitely be traded by the end of the draft.

SO show me the stats on the difference between round 1 and round 2 CB's
