So Dillard seems to be a sure bust. Don’t be shocked if there’s two OT selections in the first 4 picks next year…

I think one is enough if Mailata plays well. Have to replace basically our entire d-line and Slay will be gone sooner than later. All of these one year deal band aids will need to be fixed at LB & S too. Not to mention that we’re only having those 4 picks if Hurts plays great. A lot of work to do.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

How did Devonta look at practice today, or this week ??

So DeVonta was a bad pick because he tweaked his knee? Guess he should call it a career...

At this point you are just trolling.

Howie can’t win.

Well you can lock it down and take it to the bank Smith only gets injured because he's an Eagle. We are continually snake bitten with WRs.

Yup. Once Pitts was off the table you were 100% trade down

I actually do remember 4for4 was NOT a Pitts guy at all. He wanted nothing to do with him. I personally don;t remember him wanting to trade up for anyone. He was a trade back supporter from day one. Which in turn he did get when we went from 6 to 12.

I think he was being facetious.

Essentially, the trade up for Smith gave both Dallas and NYG more draft ammo.  I know there are guys on here who say who cares what they do, Dallas sucks yada yada yada.  The bottom line is, I hate making a move that might help a rival get better.

We gave Dallas the 2021 3rd.

The trade also opened the door for the NYG/CHI trade which netted the NYG a 2022 1st.

I honestly hate trading within the division.  2 straight years swapping picks with the Cowboys has netted them potentially 2 starting DT and a starting C.

DeVonta Smith very well might turn in to a stud, that's TBD.

Eh, I'm 100% guilty of griping over CeeDee Lamb to the Cowboys.  I still hate it.  The domino effect of the Eagles not trading up for Lamb has been franchise changing.  Word on the street is it would have cost the Eagles 2nd round pick to move up.....that 2nd round pick turned in to Jalen Hurts.  How would this team have been different if they gave Carson Wentz CeeDee Lamb and didn't bring in Jalen Hurts?

However, if the NYG took Smith, I wouldn't feel any certain way.  I still don't know if I like the pick for the Eagles.  I wasn't a fan but I'm approaching Smith with an open mind.

Bold prediction, Kadarius Toney has more highlights and TDs than DeVonta Smith as a rookie but Smith has more yards.

Wentz would still have sucked. And we‘d be in total limbo by now. If Hurts works out, and I bet he will, we sure made the right call.

From the start Smith was my guy. I still think he is the best receiver in this draft. So I am as biased as it gets on this one.

Ok, that is a BOLD prediction.

Howie Roseman is one of those people that does random stuff to show everyone that he still exists, rather than need to do it for a reason.  It seems like that his life mission won't be complete until he has restructured every non-Rookie contract on the team.  The more obvious restructure would be Ertz to help facilitate a trade to gain a higher pick.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the first 4 picks next April are all defensive players.

Pretty sure it will be used.

Hopefully on Mailata, Goedert and Sweat.

But if not, at least it keeps us flexible for a good opportunity (a trade i.E.).

If the contract extension starts next year, why create a bunch of dead money next year to provide the cap relief now, for a player you may or may not keep?

It’s for optionality purposes. If they don’t use the cap savings this year, it gets tacked onto next year.

With a chunk of dead money for Barnett if he doesn't stay.    That's the part I don't get; the willingness to add dead cap into a tight figure next year, if it's not spent this year.

It will probably be spent.

Feels to me like there is a possible trade.

But some here argue the cap will never be an issue. Could've put it to bed this year, but nope, let's ruin 2022 as well.

Had to make room for Watson.

We can officially say that Howie’s solution to the 2021 cap crisis was to kick the can down the road.
