Cutting a 1st round pick after 1 season. Yikes. The correct decision.

I cannot imagine that level of behavior.  If proven, should be some real jail time.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Joe Judge is getting a lot of love for HC.  I get this vibe that he runs a kind of nutty practice environment.

Here’s the thing, that laughing stock of a coach is a pretty talented offensive coach and the team has consistently put some pretty good WRs on the field.  Some of Watson’s success can be attributed to the quality of receivers on the team.  Some has to be attributed to O’Brien’s coaching and play calling.

I think Watson is talented but he has acted a bit like an NBA diva.  You must get this type of person as a coach.  The demand for a trade.  Etc.   That plus a clear proclivity towards soliciting sex for hire and the legal problems around that give me great pause.   He seems like a guy who could do push-ups in the driveway or leave before a game is finished. The asking price with that kind of issues just makes me worry about him going off the rails.

His numbers are inflated by holding the ball too long, he's actually had solid talent on his OL, but he takes too many sacks - those don't count against his QB rating (but do count for QBR and FO ratings) which is why his raw numbers look so good, by taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away he inflates his completion % and his Y/A.

I still think the key stats for a QB are team stats, points and yards, do you move the ball consistently and score points. Houston has never cracked the top ten with Watson at QB despite having decent though not great talent.

They pretty much dedicated their entire draft to the defense.  Hired a good DC as well.  Will likely still be bad on defense but their future on defense is certainly brighter than ours.

Their offense is old where ours is and young where ours is.

I don't think those picks equate to a quick fix.  They have nothing really to speak of on the d-line.  They added Parsons to arguably there strongest unit on defense.  I don't think they added another player that's a starter.  Their 2nd round pick is someone that many analysts had rated as a 3rd round pick but he is thought to be well suited to a cover 3 scheme.  He also only played 20 games in college.  They have a couple of potential rotational d-linemen but I don't see a lot of sure things.  I am also not sure how good of a DC they hired.  Sure he coordinated a great defense in Seattle that was great for several seasons before he was the DC.  He's not had that level of success in Atlanta.

In the words of ESP, this was a "nearly perfect day” of TC

Great value for the selection. I liked this kid going into the draft. I know most didnt know who he was but I though he was similar to a Sheldon Brown type of player. Tough kid, excited to see him in Green.

Kaye owes me a licensing fee.  Must be in here stealing things. Which one of you "Mike”s in here is Kaye?

He owes me as well. Not sure when BigEFly called it, but I was on the Sheldon Brown page right after he was drafted. Honestly a good comparison.

Went right through his hands

https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2021/08/03/keith-kirkwood-carted-off-carolina-panthers-training-camp-jt-ibe-hit/

So panthers cut this dude after a hit in camp that sent a WR to the hospital.

Apparently it was a shoulder to neck hit.

The coach was furious and cut Ibe right after practice.

Ibe apologized also said he was sorry wasn't an intentional shoulder to neck hit

Seems a little extreme to cut a dude for a tackle in camp not sure what message it sends other than don't make a tackle that's going to be flagged, but cutting a dude seems a little over kill, then again he was an udfa

I mean Reid cut Heggiman one day in camp after making him push a sled all day.

Even then seems cutting a guy for maybe being a little too aggressive might put the defense on pins and needles and afraid to hits guy out of fear of getting cut if it leads to Injury 🤔

He basically head hunted his own teammate in practice, and it was late as someone else was making the tackle. Pretty stupid thing to do, especially for an UDFA

What a scrub.

Fortunately he's practicing his terrible throws because you know, drills.

I will never blame the QB for throwing an INT when targeting JJAW.

What about targeting JJAW in the first place?

I already destroyed this nonsense once, but you conveniently did not respond to my post.

Difficult catch but the hoop should have reached for it.

For who? For what?

If we kept Wentz, Hurts would still be starting week 1 tho?

Wentz would have likely forced Hurts to be traded as one of his conditions for staying.

Google Chrome changed their web address bar to rounded from rectangular and it's driving me crazy!

It's kind of amazing that Hurts completed almost 80 percent of the passes he has attempted the last two days (30-38) and the reaction from some people in here is "look at how bad he was warming up."

I mean, at this point it is comedy theater. I get that some people here will never like the guy, but how dumb do you have to be to criticize a guy for bad throws he makes when he's warming up? It's like putting a radar gun on a pitcher who is long toss throwing and then posting the results on the internet as evidence that the player won't be any good. That's the level of stupidity that some people are reaching around here.

Not a fan of BLG by any stretch of the imagination but I try to read all camp notes.  This is interesting:

"The first team kickoff coverage unit: Marcus Epps, Kevon Seymour, T.J. Edwards, Genard Avery, K’Von Wallace, Grayland Arnold, Jordan Howard, Richard Rodgers, Craig James, and Avonte Maddox.

The second team kickoff coverage unit: Josiah Scott, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Joe Ostman, Shaun Bradley, Elijah Riley, Boston Scott, Hakeem Butler, Richard Rodgers, Travis Fulgham, Michael Jacquet.”

He said on Gainwell and Huntley were returning kicks. Note the only back up RB missing is Johnson.  Corey Clements was a force on coverage teams.  The fourth or fifth RB may well come down to STs.  Note Rodgers on both. He was a force on STs last year as was Craig James, when he played. Note Avery and Ostman of the stand up LBs but no Johnson. Seventh rounder needs to be begging to play teams.  Same with Stoll and Jackson of the TEs.  Presume no Taylor because of the quad injury.   And finally JJAW on STs.  Only chance he has to make the roster is by playing STs.

Kills me when I hear people say Quinn helped create that Seattle defense.  No he didnt.  It was already a well oiled machine from Carroll and Gus Bradley.
