Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

BS his arm will not take them where they need and I hope he goes ASAP. Worst thing that could happen is 8-9 so Howie can save face and bring him back another year.

So, you're on the fence on this one .....

I think you're likely to see a 7W-10L team -- and if Hurts keeps the job all season then he'll likely get a 2nd season, provided he shows measurable improvement over last season (which shouldn't be an unrealistic expectation of what's going to happen).  For me it's about him being efficient, progressing as a passer, and winning games in the 4th quarter instead of losing them.

So is that "known” from four games last year behind a decimated OL or is that his 62.9% passing rate at Alabama or his 69.7% passing rate at Oklahoma.  Including his 70% passing rate as a junior and senior?  (Compared to Zach Wilson’s 67.3% in college, Trey Lance’s 65.4% completion rate,  Tua’s 69.3%.  Wentz’s 64.1% in college?). Hero ball?  Now granted, he had some pretty good receivers.
Consistency?  Okay, I will accept that.  Trusts his own legs to much?  Yeah, I will accept that.  Questions on reading speed?  Sure, I have those. But actual passing and completions.  Yet to be determined in the NFL.  Hero ball?  Actually threw the ball away 17 times last year.  I think you have him confused with Wentz.   I know, I know.  All those QBs look alike.

To each his own, but his limitations are well known.  You even listed enough to know he isn't a starting caliber QB, even if we give him credit for "threw the ball away" instead of the more standard term of "incompletion"....granted that  is better than "interception" had he tried to fit it in.  And I don't really have him confused with anyone...maybe Tyrod Taylor.  All we have to do now is wait-and-see, but don't be surprised when Howie goes QB shopping by next Spring (if he waits that long).

3 and two half games with no TC, an offense in shambles and a coach that looked like he had quit isn’t much of a chance.  So Flacco?  Mullens?  Since you want Hurts gone, exactly who plays QB?  Really sounds like you are afraid he will perform well enough to lower the draft choice so basically play to tank and lose.   Is the inaccuracy based on those 3 and two half games?   And the arm question is garbage. He actually may be better throwing bombs than intermediate throws across the middle of the field. Not a starting QB1 for a serious contender?  The Eagles are a serious contender right now.  Pass some of what you have been smoking my way.

Bull.  Seems like a nice kid that I wish the best with another team. Your college QB thing was a great point because how many Bama and OSU QB are winning SB recently? Yeah...

What happened last year? He made plays with his legs and then teams adjusted and he came back down. Expect more. I don't give a F who plays QB this year because they aren't going any place anyway with him. They need a QB and that is only coming via trade or a high pick.

He couldn't even beat out Tua who sucks at the NFL level so I'm tired of hearing the poor guy never gets a chance. He needs to freaking go before they waste another year or two on him.

He might cause I doubt Howie is in a rush to admit he f'ed up the pick.

Gotta say, the "Well, Hurts was thrown into the cold, he stood no chance!" argument is probably the dumbest argument I've ever read on this board when it comes to him.

How about thrown into the fire?   What QB from all 32 teams in the league do you think would have succeeded with what Hurts had to work with?  We know you guys don’t like Scott and Ward.  Goedert isn’t worth the extension he will get.  Pryor as LT? Or RT?  Seumalo needs to be replaced I hear regularly.  Herbig is the Stay Puff man.  Johnson is done.  Toth at RT.  Reagor is a bust.  But put Brady out there and he would walk on water.  Wilson will throw deep on post patterns to Watkins or Hightower all day.  Brees would make Fulgham look like the second coming of Michael Thomas.  I am not defending Hurts but what delusional alternate universe do you live in that you and Diehard can state that what AFan just said is the dumbest argument on this board.  I will ask you what I asked Diehard, who plays instead of Hurts this year?  JFC.

I do not care who plays QB because unlike you I'm not delusional enough to think they can beat the top teams in this league with Hurts as the QB. Past that make a trade (which won't happen) or suck and get a QB in the draft next year. Being an Eagles fan doesn't mean I have to be blind to the obvious and root for mediocrity and be happy with it so we are sitting here next year talking about the same crap. Hurts is not the answer and the sooner they move on the better.

Hurts didn't have a real shot last year, coming in cold (Wentz got the snaps with the #1s and Peddy wasn't a developmental coach, and the QB coach?).

Hurts has a NFL arm, that isn't the issue. His mechanics, field vision and decision making need work, but you can say that for most 1st and 2nd year QBs - the ones that keep the starting job are the ones that grow into the job. His legs will buy him time to master the nuances of the position. Steve Young wasn't exactly a great QB his first few years. He was downright awful on a really bad Bucs team, then he got to sit for a few years and learn how to play QB.

What matters this season is not how well Hurts plays, but whether by week 17 he's a much better QB than he was in week 1, that is, if the arrow is pointing up, you stick with him, if he looks lost then it's time to move on.

If he doesn’t wow us then I don’t think he should be the future. I’m worried he’ll be average and Howie will give him another year

But it is way cheaper than NFL ticket with three times the benefit. I can watch any game I want at pretty much any time I want plus the All 22.    I get my money’s worth out of it.

If you have a relative in college then use their school and info to get the student discount. It was $150 with Game Pass IIRC last year

Significant may be an overreaction, sounds way too early for such a claim. But that is very concerning for them.

Edit: missed the "Their suggestion: Shut him down until the tear was completely healed."

I've seen worse. Like "Dillard is at LT and Brooks isn't playing RG right now".

Yes.  Contested catch is nails on a chalkboard.

Yikes, especially combined with the fact that they needed a LT really bad and passed on a potentially great one.

Pretty sure I remember them announcing they hired someone new for their social media this offseason. And yea, it's been brutal.

I feel that was predictable with Jamar Chase.  It was clear from watching him play that he was slow (for a top 10 receiver prospect at his size who had huge SEC production).

For every concern about Devonta Smith's size in the NFL, it was doubly clear that his game translated better to the NFL than Chase.  Smith's entire game revolved around getting open.  Chase's game revolves around outmuscling DB's.

I have Game Pass.  Locally, because I am in territory, on it the game isn’t live (it is on my Eagles channel), but it is available immediately afterwards.  On occasion the Ravens or Steelers bump the Eagles here, so I always have access to the game.  I get for the All 22 because you can’t really see the secondary defenses and WR routes on broadcast TV.

Matt Alkire gets All 22 tapes of college games and regularly posts snips on his Twitter feed.  I recommend following him just for those.  Former poster on the Blog.

Agree. And you absolutely cannot see line play without All-22.

Alshon gets a pass from me. We all hated that he was a rat(In hindsight was probably telling the truth) but he was a big time part of 2017 and helped us win that SB.
