Short preseason with a rookie essentially, he should be playing a half.

Disagree, it's preseason, starters play minimal snaps, that's the way it's always been. 30 snaps tops for all games is pretty much standard for a starter.

it's not like Sirianni's offense is revolutionary, and without his WR1 or starting tackles out there, how much is Hurt's going to learn that's helpful?

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

And people really think we should be wasting a roster spot on this guy.

Dillard's NFL career:

who even touched him? I think he was knocked over by the guard?

Air touched him.

Worst thing is he isn't some young guy anymore.  He's 26 at this point.  Sometimes 1st round picks bust and people need to just accept that is what Dillard is.

He's such a lost cause that I don't think he even provides good depth at LT.  If it weren't for his 1st round label I don't think he would even be second on the depth chart.

Well looks like it's time.   New Season, New Coach, New QB.   Let's Go Birds.

Why would he be a moron.......?  What are you afraid of?

I'm not afraid of anything, QB1 takes about 30 snaps total pre season, that's been a league wide standard as long as I can remember, the Packers are starting Jordan Love they don't expect Rodgers to see the field at all, Bears are talking about Dalton and Fields being on snap counts, Bronco's will be rotating snaps because they have a competition, Bengal's are talking about sitting Burrow, Bills announced Josh Allen won't take a snap, Mayfield is sitting out the opener, Colts announced Eason will only play a quarter, Rams have already said Stafford won't ever take a pre season snap, Roethlisberger won't play a snap. Wentz didn't see the field in 2019 pre season.

I don't know why people pretend that QB's missing preseason is a big issue every year, it's dull football with a vanilla scheme that proves nothing.

Dillard may have been knocked over by air but at least he also committed a false start

How can so many of our first round picks have questions about their toughness — mental or otherwise?

Agholor collapsed into himself like a dying star.

Dillard cries on the field and all but quits in a move to RT.

Reagor seems to have something missing between the ears.

Hell, drop down to second round picks and Sidney Jones would get heat and immediately grab at his hamstring and hobble off.

Who was the lineman last year who just started adjusting his gloves mid play?

If Dillard is out, who will play 2nd team LT?  Toth?  Looks like a recipe to get your potential starter killed for no reason.  He needs to play more, but you have to assess the risk.

Yup, Toth is 2nd team LT with Dillard and Casey Tucker both hurt, unless they put Pryor there for some reason. Should be a gas.

This is an excellent question.

At least with Devonta Smith this is not a concern. He's definitely an adult.

one of these things is not like the others one of these things just doesn't belong - groverss | Meme Generator

All those guys have a better than evens shot at being QB1 for their respective teams (Fields or Dalton is the only one that's a competition and I wouldn't bet a red cent on Dalton starting the first game let alone completing the season), I'm not making any comment with regards to their relative quality.

Steve Mariucci hopes Hurts is our QB for the next 12 years. Didn’t know he hates us so much.

Interesting look on what teams take analytics seriously

Yeah, most of our interesting rookie and second year players are out. That sucks.

I am excited to see the second and third string RBs, to see how Quez looks and to see McPhearson and the new RBs play. Apparently Tarron Jackson is having a good camp so I want to see him.  I am curious if we see much of the standup LBs.  Kind of hope so.  Interested in seeing Williams athleticism in action and how his 31 inch arms do tackling.  Supposedly there may be a battle between Ridgeway and McGill for the fourth DT.  Suggestion there may be a battle between Awosika and Opeta.  Want to see if Juriga took the next step.  Really want my own eyes on the rookie and backup TEs.  The offense will be so vanilla, I will be looking for fundamentals from Hurts.  And finally, of course, I am stoked to see the return of my hero, Greg Ward.

Interesting little nugget

An offensive quality control coach called the passing plays in the regular season?

I want to see Hurts drive us for a score w/o running (not including scrambling). I want to see Reagor play like he wants to be here. I want to see JJAW cut. I want to see Fulgham look like he did part of last year. I want to see the cbs cover people and the d-line get pressure against the 1s.
