Blackberry taught me to type with my thumbs a long, long time ago.  But I don’t type out books like you so I can see the preference.

When you're writing anything of length, no substitute for a desktop with two 27" screens so you can have a half dozen windows open (Adobe, Google Scholar, etc.).

The one thing I learned about writing is to write, don't worry about quality, get the ideas down, b/c with computers it's easy to edit.

Now writing a MS Thesis on a pad of paper, then typing it in, and editing using scissors, scotch tape and white out, that was a trip ("cut and paste" used to be literally just that). That's also how we wrote consulting reports on my first job.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

I could type so quickly on the physical keyboards with the phones years ago. I'm constantly messing up and hitting the wrong letter on smartphones with touch screens now

Autocorrect helps so much now lol

This ump is a joke!

Thank the gods that we are past the days of carbon paper and whiteout.  I learned to type on a manual typewriter and thought I had really advanced when I got an IBM Selectric with redaction (whiteout) tape.

Only way to write is on computer.  I haven’t owned a desktop for at least a decade.  But I do have my laptop set up with two dual 27” monitors, wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.  For when I am doing historical research and note taking, mainly.  I so much prefer scanned documents on enhanced pixel screens to microfiche although sometimes I have to go to the original documents still.

I also love my set up for the All-22 review.

A friend of my Dad's who is 86 years young, being a bit of nerd, does 90% of business emails and other bits via speech recognition. Took some time to get setup, but swears by how much easier it has made his life.

Honestly, with how hot it is none of the starters should play this week.

Whole team's about to be cramping reaaal quick 😂

In terms of the Hurts snap count against the Steelers, with 2 practices against other teams coming down the line, they are probably as important as 3 pre-season games.

Still a nice much needed win. I though the Phils was gonna get swept.

Joint practices are never as important.  Ask Carson Wentz.  Who hasn’t played in a pre season game forever.

Why arent' they important?

He was busting my chops because he came into the Sixers thread talking baseball and I gave him a hard time.

Why should starters lives be the only ones that matter in the heat? Limiting the amount of players available in this heat is the opposite if what they should do.

That’s it.   Cancel the game. That way they can all go to a safe place and tweet about how hot it is and share their feelings.   As long as they are socially distanced and of course wearing the mask.  Since they’ll be in doors.

I bet Archie Bradley drinks White Claws and played hacky sack back in the day.

I said they are never as important as a preseason game.  Which is true.

The hacky sack is probably stored in his beard.

Disagree on that. Joint practices are important because you can pick and choose the situation you want to be in and work on which is beneficial because you may not get to in games, but games are more important because it's adjusting to game flow and being on the edge of your seat which helps prepare for what the next 18 weeks of the season will be.

Guess he's just bored and doing a TC tour while getting some free merch.

Nooo.  That’s not accurate.  I was busting on ESPN for covering G League Hoops more than the MLB.  Get it right.

And making fun of you G league nerds.

BTW.  You like the new thread sub-title?

LOL, I didn't even notice until now but f off 😂

It depends what you are looking for. For Hurts you can work on situational stuff you can't in a pre-season game.

Pre-season games are important, but when teams are constantly resting starters from those games, the benefit diminishes somewhat.

Is it really that big a deal that Hurts hasnt been named the starter?  Listening to Cowherd on my way to work( my first mistake) him and Joy Taylor were flipping out about Hurts not being named the starter.  Like the job should just be given to him.

1. I completely understand not just giving the job to a 2nd round pick who has never been a good passer and was bad in limited action as as rookie.  Typically QB's either earn it as pros or are top 15 picks (better passers who earned it in college).

2.  But it IS a big deal because they have neither named Hurts the starter nor labeled this an open competition (which it is not).  Call it one or the other.

How many teams in the NFL in the last 10 years have gone into a season without a defined starter?  Of those, how many had no named starter because there was a known, open competition?

The Eagles have a starting QB they don't want to acknowledge and no competition either.  That's a pretty big deal.

Why? Is it gonna make Hurts a better player if he’s "named starter”? He’s already getting all the 1st team reps anyway. He’s clearly gonna be QB1.

Im always puzzled by how upset people get when the team doesn’t publicly announce something that doesn’t make any difference on the actual game.
