Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Have to keep jackson. Have to trade ertz…

Hurts looked mediocre

I forget who it was but someone mentioned how good Reagor looked blocking on the Watkins TD.  BGN claims it was a hold that could have brought back the TD.

Let’s talk the other Jackson. Aggressive bull rush but too high so he got stoned several times. Problem was that when engaged he was working so hard on pushing the block that he lost contain a few times.  (People rag on Barnett but his ability to seal the edge is the better than Sweat’s which is probably why he starts.).  Jackson also lost the edge on his spin moves.   Raw.   Needs bend.

Thoughts on the game...

Hurts looked fine. The Goedert pass was pristine. You can see he's developing. I'm still concerned about the upside, but I like what I see so far.

Was looking for Quez to flash, and he certainly did just that. Sirianni mentioned wanting to see Quez develop more in the intermediate game. Not ready to crown Quez yet, but I struggle to find another receiver other than Devonta Smith that I'm as excited about.

Milton Williams flashed as well. On the McGill sack, Williams tore those blockers up. A 5-6 sack year in a rotational role wouldn't shock me. Better? He carries himself like a good player. Good feeling about this guy.

Alex Singleton has a great presence on the field. How TF was Gerry starting over this guy? What a joke.

This DL is going to be a problem. 1st and 2nd team looked as I expected given the personnel. Exciting stuff.

Tyree Jackson has to make the team. Howie has been desperately searching for a guy like this for years now. Looked like a natural out there.

His base salary for 2021 is $7M according to Spotrac.

Why should that be a factor?   I have it on good authority that the salary cap has never been an issue for the Eagles acquiring talent.

I thought Hurts was fine, his big missed throw wasnt as bad as what I assumed from reading the comments.  It was a timing thing and when he released the ball, Watkins hadnt separated yet--that sort of thing requires practice together.

His arm looked live, he was decisive...I have no issues with how he played for the first preseason game

This sounds like the Eagles media propaganda machine.

Everyone else outside of the Eagles fake news members are saying Reagor should be worried about losing A LOT of snaps to Watkins.

What does that have to do with my observation?

Watching it live, I seriously doubt it gets called. The still frame of course makes it look worse.

Lemme guess, Gowton said that?

Overall, it was a good night for Eagle draft picks. I don’t think I’ve said that in 10 years.

Watkins caught a wide open pass and ran really fast, he didn't even get touched and it was a perfect playcall because his defender blitzed.

His go route that Hurts overthrew was more impressive than his TD.

that you're observation is in the extreme minority so much so that it looks like you're on the Eagles Pay roll

What observation is that? That Reagor ran good routes last night unlike last year and that his screen pass was not set up perfectly like Watkins’?

That puts me on the payroll? Cripes you’re dense.

Watkins is going to the HOF

No, you went into detail of how great he did in Preseason 1, and how you were impressed, and how he made #42 look so bad. etc etc etc.

All I said was, the only people who are saying this are Eagles beat writters and you. And that everyone outside looking in feels the complete opposite of Reagors performance.

But, sure man, he did amazing. .

Ok… good talk.

Don't take anything BleedingGreenNation says seriously.

Reagor's block was great. If you freeze-frame a block, it will always look like a hold at the end, when the defender moves backwards towards the ball-carrier.

People have called Reagor soft. He blocks too hard and some people are calling holding? They're just irrationally angry at Howie Roseman.

You’re on the payroll too!

The 2020 draft was bad! You're a Roseman hater.
The 2021 draft was good! You're a Roseman homer.

It is tough being a first round pick.

Reagor did some legitimately good things last night and showed real progress in his routes.  Between the one "drop" on a really bad pass and Watkins' performance, the heat has been turned up several degrees on him.

Dillard didn't even play and we get more angry with him with each passing game.

A lot of the frustration is justified for both of them, but the pressure is palpable for anyone in round 1.

Haven't had a chance to see the game yet.  Have it on DVR for watching on Sunday when I'm home.   I look forward to it, but one thing I am gathering is that Watkins, once again, looked explosive.   Which continues to beg the question, why hasn't he been given a look at PR?  Why wasn't he given that opportunity last year?    Why does this guy keep getting overlooked for that position?   It is a desperate need for this team, and has been since Father Time caught up to Darren Sproles.  Watkins needs to get reps at PR in practice and get a legit opportunity this preseason at PR.

There is a strong connection between flanker screens and punt returning.   Its why guys like Tyreek Hill are so great at both and why Greg Ward struggles with both.  Yet... Greg Ward last year got tons of opportunities at both and did nothing positive with them.  Watkins has shown explosion on the flanker screens, let's give him a chance at PR.

I've never been a Singleton fan.  He's seemed like a step above a JAG.  However, he just has a nose for the ball and flies around.  He's not physically imposing at all and he can play a bit out of control but he just seems to find the ball carrier.  I wish he was 25 rather than going on 28 but he's a player.  Would also like to see him in a true LB number.  Something about 49 makes him feel like a PS guy to me.  The hair and playing style remind me of Bryan Braman who wore 56...56 should not be Seumalo's number.

We're excited and so far happy with our draft class...and our first 2 picks have barely played at all this pre-season/training camp.

Howie knows the draft

I think if your first round talent, being picked in the first round it's not a big deal.

Reagor and Dillard were clearly not 1st round material and the GM made a mistake.

Revisionist history:  Dillard was ranked as high as a top 10 pick by scouts (at the time) and Reagor wouldn’t of made it past the 1st round.
