I think the more appropriate discussion is Good team/great QB vs. Great team/good QB.

I think it has already become cost effective to go for the latter instead of the former

Even the list of mediocre to good qbs who won SBs in the last 20 years did so by putting on a cape and playing great.   So if you want to win a SB with one of them, you’ll have to get lucky.

The other issue is that great team/good qb probably ends up with a qb putting up elite numbers and getting a huge contract anyway.

The only qbs without monster deals when they approach their last contract year are generally ones that clearly aren’t good enough.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

I don’t care how good your quarterback is if he’s surrounded by poor talent then he’s not winning anything. Marino, s Stafford, and eve Watkins have shown that. The Eagles won the Super Bowl, because they were a very good football team not because they had a great quarterback. The only real debate we should be having is how long will it take before Lurie realizes someone other than Howie should be picking the talent.

12 personnel and Fulgham makes me nauseous, but at least we know that’s temporary.

So Flaccos not starting?

You left out that he was a waste of money, he should be cut and Howie should be fired for trading for him

Groin and knee finally pass hamstring.  This is a good sign.

We're so used to Doug going for it on everything. Might be less stressful to just take the 3 from now on

Activating Clark is good news.  If Dillard isn't ready or not on the roster by week 1, Clark is a more viable option as the backup LT than Toth.

Toth should not make the 53

Glad to see the guy I banged the table for prior to and during the draft last year (Quez Watkins) is finally getting his due.  I hope he continues to improve and gets a chance showcase himself this season.

Personally I’m not a fan of being a coward like McVay

Curious as to what they'll do with Dickerson.  Unless Herbig looks really bad, no need to have him up by week 1.  But if he stays on PUP, he can't practice until week 6.

Also, Hurst still hasn't completed a pass to a WR this preseason.

I wonder if there may be a new Gentlemen Supports of Billy Davis Fanclub type thread started for Gannon.

Billy was dealt a tough hand.  I think just getting to mediocre was an accomplishment.

The range of outcomes for this WR group is so wide. We've got 3-4 young guys that could really suck or be really good weapons. It's kinda fun.

Kerryon Johnson has a History of knee injuries.

This is totally new information...😒

Billy Davis was a terrible defensive coordinator. Some results may be blamed on poor DB play, but the scheme was awful. Let's 2 gap when the strength of the team is the front 4!
