Great reply.  I already stated the Sixers need to move on from Ben at this point because his avoidance of shooting the ball and refusal to rework his shooting form to improve his foul shooting has become an unavoidable liability for the Sixers.  But that doesn't mean it's time to just start making completely ignorant takes that Ben Simmons is just an ok passer with average vision.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Yeah we do. Name the last "playmaking" QB who was crap passing his rookie year that won a Super Bowl? Answer that has been discussed here multiple times...nobody. He is a freaking one trick pony and that doesn't change. I hope he tanks beyond belief this year without any question and as fast as possible so we aren't sitting here next year having this same stupid conversation.

At least some of the Hurts haters will admit they are actively hoping/rooting against him.

I sure am. Want no freaking questions to give them any room to give him another year.

You have very low standards apparently.  A few no look passes and he is a great passer.  Sure.

I’ll add I could name countless slow plodding quarterbacks who never won a thing in the NFL. Also it’s been a very long time since a top five drafted quarterback won a Super Bowl in the NFL not named Manning. Mike Vick too his team to the NFC Championship game and lost to the Eagles and McNabb. Both are arguably "playmaker quarterbacks.”

You won't find any one who actually watches basketball outside of some ignorant Philadelphia fans that don't watch a lot of basketball who will claim that Ben Simmons is just an ok passer with average vision.

Yeah, people tried that card and it's BS. He wasn't a dude who just ran. He knew how to throw. Hurts sucks. We agree you don't have to be top 5, but you have to freaking throw the ball. Why was he doing well in a few games then came down? Teams said take his legs away and he sucks and they were right. My rooting against him won't change what he does on the field. We'll see.

I've watched ever Sixers game for at least the last 10 years, probably longer.  You stink at analyzing it.

I sincerely doubt that you have.

Hurts didn’t "just run” last year either. He threw for 1061 yards. That’s roughly 265 yards a game, but keep going with your b.s. narrative.

LOL.  Why am I arguing with you.  I just wasted the last 15 minutes of my life.

It's not BS. If you took a poll most people on here would say he can't throw for a reason. It's not like any of us want to have a QB who sucks. Just how Howie drafted. He will make plays and people will have false hope, but a real QB is who wins in the playoffs. That's not him.

I don’t like the drafting of Hurts. Who frigging picks a backup quarterback with a 2nd round pick? Just stupid. With that being the case we had two quarterbacks drafted by the "Quarterback Factory” that "sucked” last year. One apparently got a pass, because it was everyone else’s fault around him and the other was a rookie. I’m glad the guy who got a pass is gone, because he’s on the decline, but I’m willing to give the rookie a chance, because the rookie had to deal with the same crap receivers, crap line, woeful defense, and coaches that quit too.

He can throw, dude. Doesn't need to improve on it. Has no red flags. Just ignore the fact that he completed 52% of his passes. Just ignore that he got worse once teams adjusted. Just ignore that his first four games are almost statistically identical to Tim Tebow, a literal meme of a QB. Just ignore that he completed 35% and was benched. Just ignore the fumbling. Just ignore the poor mechanics. Just ignore that he got worse as each week went on.

It's only 4 games so it didn't happen. It's all pretend. You can't have a negative opinion on it because people said so.

he clearly cant move and is not worth a depth spot over a younger player

We agree with the first part. There were some good players there who could have helped them.

4 games that happened over 8 months ago, but he can’t improve or get better. 🤔 But yeah there’s no bias in that thought process at all.

McNabb comp% year one 49.1

McNabb comp % year 2  58.0

Yeah guys can’t get better as they develop though. 🙄

Lets try a different approach. Hopefully one that's less confusing:

If you owned a business and a newer employee showed he wasn't doing the job to the level required after a month, would that fly with you? No. What if some of the issues he's having at your business are issues he had at his last job? Now you might not fire him, being that he's new, but you'd still want to see improvement, right? You'd still have concerns about him moving forward, right? Pretty simple concept.

Just a flatout beyond ignorant take typical of Sixers takes in this thread.

Do you watch the 6ers and realize how rare it is to see him make a pass like these?

Did you see Isaiah Joe's pass in the summer league game 2 nights ago? Everyone makes a pass like these once in a while. Simmons only does it once in a while.

I have no doubts at all that I watch the Sixers far more than anyone else in this thread.  Simmons doesn't only make a great pass once in awhile.  His elite level passing ability is one of the strengths of his game.  It's a big reason why he has landed a max contract at such a young age.

I also learned that Ben Simmons is as good a passer as Tim Hardaway Sr....
