I have no doubts at all that I watch the Sixers far more than anyone else in this thread.  Simmons doesn't only make a great pass once in awhile.  His elite level passing ability is one of the strengths of his game.  It's a big reason why he has landed a max contract at such a young age.

Thats funny.

I said, did you see the pass from Isaiah Joe against the Hawks 2 nights ago?

I can post the highlight and tell you Isaiah Joe has great vision and passing.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

I absolutely do not want JP back starting at this stage in his career, but not gonna lie it still kinda sucks to see him in another team's jersey.  Good for him though.

It's kind of difficult to create SB winning defenses though

WFT and SF built theirs through years of losing seasons and numerous top 10-15 draft picks spent on the DL

You just confirmed you don't watch the Sixers often. They maxed him based on his potential.  His length, athleticism, and speed are top notch.  His work ethic, coachability, "careability" is bottom 5% in the league.  He is not a good passer.  Time to make an appointment at Len's Crafter.

I wonder why a guy with "elite level passing ability" who is also 6'10'' playing the PG position where he can easily see over everyone guarding him, only averaged 6.9 assists in his 5th year in the league. With so many shooters around him, and a dominant center who you can easily just lob to all game (if you were even decent at lob passes, which Simmons has always struggled with).

By Steve Nash's 5th year in the league, he had 3 seasons with over 10 assists per game. Thats elite vision and passing. Simmons isnt in the same ballpark.

I saw the pass.  The more you discuss basketball the more clear it is you only watch it in the most casual of senses.

You must not be watching with RTK's lense.  He breaks down defenders and then makes the elite pass on almost every play.  He has so many moves in his arsenal the defender doesn't know what to do.  They are so terrified they stand 10 feet in front of him.

I also learned that Ben Simmons is as good a passer as Tim Hardaway Sr....

Yeah. All of the casual fans are tuning in for all of the summer league games.

Who did he pass it to?

Just call him Ben "Halfcourt" Simmons!

His actions last year should have destroyed any sentimentality about caring about that.  I’m just glad we aren’t seeing him in an Eagles jersey this year.

The Vikings look unbelievably bad.

Destroyed 11 years worth of sentimentality from a future hall of famer? Really?

Because after he passes the ball in the half court he takes himself out of the offense.  He's so determined not to actively put himself into situations on offense where he might get the ball again and be expected to shoot it.  That is what makes it so frustrating to watch him with his mentality that is ultimately wasting a lot of his talents due his major reluctance to shoot and focus on that part of the game.

That makes no sense. Your answer to why he only averaged less than 7 assists per game, in his 5th year in the league, while having a massive size advantage to see the court over his defender is because he takes himself out of the play after he passes the ball? With his excellent vision and passing ability why arent more of those passes being converted to buckets? He should be creating for other guys right? With all that otherworldly vision and passing ability?

An assist means that his pass resulted in a bucket being scored. It shouldnt matter where Ben goes after he makes the pass. That has nothing to do with his lack of assist numbers.

And you didnt answer me on the Joe question. Who did he assist on that bucket?

Nagy prepared to make him DC in case the bears defense regressed.

Watched a little bit of the Turds game against the Cards this morning.  Cooper Rush looked worse than DiNucci; their fans should be panicked at any suggestion that Dak’s shoulder isn’t right.  For the Cards, I can’t believe they still have that Streveler in camp as a backup — he’s the nearest facsimile to Tebow I’ve seen, and he just kept taking off running with the football — in a preseason game.

Why the head roll for Juan Castillo?

The dude is one of the top OLine coaches in the league has been for the last 30+ years.

He gets a lot of heat for his stint as a DC yet he still was statistically better than the DC before him( McDermott) and the 2 DCs after him (bowels and Davis) so...

Anyone defending Simmons as a basketball player after his playoff performance should be taken out and shot, then urinated on, then shot again …. then urinated on one more time.

He gets an assist every time he clogs the lane and we go 4 on 5 on offense, didn't you realize that?  Did you see his vision when he had a slam dunk under the rim and he passed it out to the 3 points line.  That is basketball IQ and vision all in one!

Screw the haters. In his first 4 starts Jalen Hurts had a better completion percentage than Johnny Unitas and Fran Tarkenton. Also has more passing TDs in his first 4 starts than Y.A. Tittle. It’s Hurts szn and by the time the playoffs start y’all will have to apologize for ever doubting Daddy Drip Drip   😤😤😤

Maxey is done for the rest of Summer League but RTK knew that.

You are perfect example of why by far the worst takes on the Sixers can be found in this thread on the Eagles board.  Simmons isn't the right fit on this team anymore with how he refuses to adapt his game and improve both his shooting ability and willingness to shoot.  With his defensive and passing ability though he is going to go onto be a 8-10 time all star over the course of his career, win a couple defensive player of the year awards and likely win a championship or two somewhere as he ring chases to join some super team at some point.  But it isn't going to work out in Philadelphia so he has got to go.  They gotta try to win now with Embiid and they aren't going to be able to do that with Simmons with where he is at right now.  But that doesn't mean that you then go out of your way to give a widely inaccurate assessment of part of Ben's elite talent and ability that is one of his strengths.

Yeah you cited the main highlight to come out of the summer league game.  Guess that means you watched it.
