We have 24-25 spots on offense.

QB(2): Hurts, Flacco
RB(4): Sanders, Scott, Gainwell, Howard
TE (4): Ertz, Goedert, Jackson, Rodgers
WR (5): Smith, Reagor, Watkins, Ward, Fulgham
OL (10) Mailata, Seumalo, Kelce, Brooks, Johnson, Dillard, Dickerson, Herbig, Driscoll, Opeta, Clark

This gets easy if we keep 2 QBs and trade Ertz. It get hard if we keep Ertz and want Mullen.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

That's 11 OL listed.

I would hope to see Ertz and Dillard gone.  I can envision they keep Dickerson on PUP to help retain other guys when they cut to the initial 53.

No way we should keep 5 RBs considering the low ceiling of most f the guys we’re talking about.

Outside of Sanders and Gainwell (and maybe Scott), I wouldn’t care about losing any of the RBs on waivers.

I agree…don’t care about losing any besides those two.  It’s also not really a crowded or deep group…it’s just a large number of backs with comparable levels of talent and value, but very diverse skill sets, which makes it challenging to narrow down the field.

They’ve gotta go very, very OL heavy.  Lane and Brooks will both be out before long.  Seumalo hasn’t been an iron man lately.  Mailata has finished every year of his career on IR.  Dillard misses more time than he plays.  Driscoll got injured with every extended stint of playing time last year.

The health of their entire OL is wading in kerosine and is just waiting for week 1 to light the match.

Let me guess....you're a grief counselor.

Are they practicing today or was their light practice without pads yesterday too much for them?

You forgot Dickerson who’s had multiple ACL injuries and ankle injury before getting to the NFL

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I have NFL gamepass so I have access to all the games it’s just the time they are on means while I may be able to watch some, I won’t be able to watch it all, and I find it hard to watch games after the fact.

I'd say kerryon " was" an NFL player.

His knee is wrecked and he's hurt again

Was telling that first guy off the bench for Sanders was Howard not kerryon or Boston.

I don't think kerryon makes the roster and I'm not sure another team bothers picking him up once cut

Too bad he was a promising prospect before the knee injuries.

Wouldn't be the first RB in the history of the league to have his career derailed by injuries.

Scott is a component but if Boobie isn’t available, I think Howard starts but if Boobie is available, other than preserving a fourth quarter lead by pounding the rock, I think Scott gets more snaps.  I think Gainwell, this season, is Scott’s backup.  I would like to see him get some returns to see how he does with those.

Teams keep low upside vets all the time because they’re reliable and know their assignments. Johnson has been playing special teams in practice too. That’s what he’ll have to do stick around in the league moving forward.

Yeah, but those low upside vets can be found easily enough if you're looking for one. I wouldn't necessarily dedicate a roster spot to a guy like that when you're cutting to 53 players. If you need one later, you just sign the next best "low upside vet" who's available. Guys like that float in and out of rosters all the time during the season.

I'd rather use my 50th, 51st, 52nd, and 53rd roster spots for guys with potential.

I agree. Lots of coaches don’t though.

From Nick’s PC yesterday he said he values a RBBC approach and it’s no secret they want the RBs highly involved in the passing game.  I suspect the 4 RBs will end up being Sanders, Scott, Gainwell and Howard and, although each will have a different role, each will be required to be able to do everything

I pray they know when to rotate the RBs unlike the previous coaches

I the salary cap age that becomes more difficult as teams would rather cheap upside players rather than vet minimum low upside players.

I'm not sure how much kerryon is going to play teams during the season or even how good he is at it.

His one legit skill is as a pass blocker and looks like Howard has that on lockdown as well.

I can't imagine any team is going to sign a banged up RB simply to pass block a couple times a game

Just doesn't make much sense especially since he's damaged goods, currently hurt again

To consider:  Sanders has two years on his contract as a second round choice.  Scott is a RFA next year, Gainwell has four years on a 5th round choice salary, Huntley has three years on a fifth choice salary, Johnson is in his last year on a second round contract that was restructured to the vet minimum.  Howard is on a one year contract for $990,000 base salary but only an $850,00 cap hit or savings if cut to Johnson’s $920,000 cap hit or savings if cut.  So Johnson saves $70,000 to the cap if cut over Howard.  Huntley comes in at $720,000.  So Johnson has to be not only better than both Howard and Huntley, including STs, it cannot be closer than $70k or $140k better.  Howard offers something that neither Johnson or Huntley do in that he is a bigger back.  He does okay on STs as protector and on coverage.  Huntley counters with speed and KOR ability. At 193, he is big enough to play on coverage teams and probably fast enough to be a gunner but does he have the talent is the question.  Johnson is larger than Huntley but not a big back by any measure at 207.  Good pass pro but nothing much to show on STs so far.  Odds favor a healthy Howard.

I think the RB room has 4 guys who are legit NFL players, but only one who is good enough to be a starter. The others are depth/role players.

Johnson looks kinda shot, perfect world Boston is a 4, Jordan looked shot last year and has a lot of miles, Miles really needs to stay healthy and hold onto the ball and continue to work on catching the ball, then I think he will be good. Gainwell is a 5th round rook.  I got this group in the bottom 3rd of the league pretty easily.

I think the 53rd spot for the Eagles is almost always a developmental.  Plus you figure at least two OL inactive too, so one of those can be developmental.  I figure the next two years the Eagles can go heavy on developmental players that might get plucked.  Hopefully less PS plucking again like last year.

Yup, I think Howard looks like he's in really good shape and I agree I think he's the favorite over Johnson and Huntley.

Huntley is interesting because he could be a good returner and special teamer and if it comes down to say him or say tyree Jackson then I think one keeps Jacksons upside and try to stash Huntley on the PS.

With the 4 being sanders Howard Scott and gainwell.

I think they keep Opeta. Fans aren’t high on him but he’s been first team LG with Seumalo out. I think he makes the team, possibly with Driscoll staying on NFI list

That I agree with. There was some but majority seemed to be no. I personally was more on the no side. But I don’t think it gives Howie a pass. If he turns out to be a stud, Howie had a chance to take him but didn’t. That’s on him.

That's a no win...however Fields pans out has zero to do with Howie.  This draft is 100% on Smith staying healthy to justify not making a trade with Chicago so they could take Fields there.  A lot would rather have had the extra picks.  About 90% around here were hard no's on Fields.

Again, it doesn’t matter what the fans did or didn’t want. It’s his job to make the roster better. If Fields turns into the next Mahomes, and he was there for the taking when the QB position was completely unsettled, that’s on him. No win, sure. But he’s the guy with the flashy title, cashing the big checks. Too bad if it’s no win, he has to deal with it. If he doesn’t like it, he can quit.

Off topic-  if you guys have friends/family who are Afghanistan vets it might be a good day to check in with them. I spent six years there, and a lot of my marines and teammates are struggling today. If you’ve seen the video of hueys being pushed off carrier decks as Saigon fell, this is that day for us. Might be worth checking in on anybody who struggles with their experience/service. Thanks boys.

Totally forgot the Milton Williams pick the reason for the Roseman/Donahoe draft room awkwardness. @Wentz_Eras signature reminded me. Watching him compared to Alim McNeil will be interesting going forward.
