Have to disagree here. There have been a number of reports that they tried trading up even higher for a QB. Then there was this whole "we're in on Watson" fiasco. The team won't name Jalen the starter. Many of the promotional material going out leaves Hurts out.

They may not be as in the hunt as say the Jags, but I think you're kidding yourself if you believe they weren't looking to upgrade from Hurts.

You are always looking at possible upgrades, but cost matters.

They passed over Fields for reasons that were obvious, Fields is as raw as Hurts, he may have a stronger arm but Hurts has better intangibles. So it made more sense to go after an elite WR.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

And we weren't QB hunting this year, what about this concept don't you get? Your view is we should have been QB hunting because Fields may turn out to be better and if he is Howie failed scouting, well Brady is pretty much the best to ever do it and every scout in the league failed, and we failed to take at least 4 QB's better than we had since 2017. We could've traded our 1 and Wentz to pick Mahomes or Watson and it would've been the right thing to do because both are absolute blue chip QB's, while Wentz ****ed his way to a salary dump trade to Indianapolis.

Lol. Sure.

Fields’ arm talent is about two or three levels above Hurts’.

No, you aren't always looking to upgrade. I don't even know why you'd suggest something so foolish. Think the Chargers want to upgrade from Herbert?

As far as "intangibles", that's completely subjective. No one knows who will ultimately have better "intangibles" between the two. They passed over Fields because they didn't like something with his game or felt he was not a big enough upgrade over Hurts. It has nothing to do with intangibles.

The amount of football people in here don’t watch, let me tell you

Sure he does.

Is Marshall running with 25 pound pads?

We should trade all of our 1s, 2s, Ertz and Cox to KC for Mahomes. He's on the block as KC, apparently, is looking to upgrade.

Don’t you have a court to jester?

Howie wanted to trade with Jets but Jets wouldn't because Howie wanted Wilson and so did Jets. We're going to be in the Watson discussion until it ends because so far he's better than Hurts and he wants a new place

Hurts isn't the guy until he proves it this season. This is his chance

Yeah, he should have scored there. He looked slower here than he did in college. Maybe he is dealing with some kind of leg injury.

He took that role over last night by being the back pedaling, goal post moving, liar that he is.

I'm finally free.

Off topic-  if you guys have friends/family who are Afghanistan vets it might be a good day to check in with them. I spent six years there, and a lot of my marines and teammates are struggling today. If you’ve seen the video of hueys being pushed off carrier decks as Saigon fell, this is that day for us. Might be worth checking in on anybody who struggles with their experience/service. Thanks boys.

go birds

Yup.

My next door neighbor is retired 82nd Airborne, he's done a few tours and battles PTSD, he's not a big fan of the military now and has a lot of issues with what he did and what the military and the country is doing now.

We hung out yesterday and he went and saw his counselor at the VA on Friday so he's got resources that he uses but yeah I agree if you have a vet friend /family member today is a good day to check on them

Read some things about Davion Taylor flashing in practice and wanting to run really fast... did he even play in the first preseason game?

He’s week to week with a calf injury.

Remember the days that the Eagles would actually have some RBs in the preseason who looked like they belong in the NFL?   Thursday night was not one of those.

That might hurt his speed goal.

Cant wait for game 2. Hope everyone is well and peaceful unless u prefer chaos.

He went warp speed and his calf couldn’t handle it.

Sorry did we draft someone? Sign someone to compete as starter? All I saw was a journeyman.and a career backup and a lot of smoke and hooey with little evidence to actually back it up about trading for a guy who's either going to jail or going to a team who can afford him.

Hopefully, Geordi can fix the warp core before Captain Picard needs it.

They looked fine to me. Most of the RBs had 1 or 2 carries, thats it. Pretty sure 2 Rbs had 4 yard avg, the other 2 over 6 yard avg in the extremely limited play time. Huntley who was your feature back prob to see if a team wants to trade for him had 3.8 which would have been over a 5 yard avg if his 15+ yarder wasnt called back for a late pent

I think people have to understand you will not see Nick's real scheme in preseason. So these Rbs will be used sparely. Not to mention they want to see what Hurts and these QBs/WRs can do so you will see more passes during this preseason.

Ok. QB is set for present and long term. Whatever you say.

I think people understand that just fine.  Garbage time is where the best athletes can show their wares, talent stands out.   I didn't see much in the second half.

BTW, that long run by Huntley had TWO holding penalties, they marked the penalty from the first one.   That one occurred at the LOS, likely goes for no gain without it.

There's nobody in the hunt for Watson, once criminal accusations were made any trade talk was dead in the water,

I'll bet 20 teams enquired as to what it might take, but the Eagles being seriously involved seems to be based on little more than tweets from "in the know" guys, based on little more than us having multiple 1's next year and a pig headed unwillingness to stare the reality of our cap situation in the face.
