There are many reasons to still wear a mask even if vaccinated. Even the vaccinated can still transmit the covid-19 virus. Wearing a mask helps the unvaccinated. Wearing a mask also provides some protection from infection. Lastly, wearing masks has likely lowered the transmission of other viruses such as the flu (see Beast's post).

It would have been nice if everyone listened to the scientists and doctors and wore masks consistently from the start so this wouldnt still be an issue.  Or everyone got the vaccine, so this wouldnt still be an issue. But... here we are with you asking if we want to wear masks for the rest of our lives, while you also dont get a vaccine and continue to be able to spread the virus, without your mask or vaccine.

Think about the question you are asking, and how you and other like-minded individuals are responsible for the fact that this is even a question to be asked.

I think so much trust was lost with our institutions and medical experts over the last year and that more than anything has to do with people hesitant to take the vaccine.

There was so much lying and misinformation put out to the public, then when it comes time where people need to trust you, it's like you already kind of blew that chance.

If our politicians and health spokespeople would've been up front and honest from day one, I think there'd be a lot less unvaccinated people.

I saw one survey of unvaccinated people and the majority gave reasons apolitical. There's this narrative that all unvaccinated people are doing it for political reasons and that doesn't appear to be the case.
