I think people understand that just fine.  Garbage time is where the best athletes can show their wares, talent stands out.   I didn't see much in the second half.

Your entire 2nd half was Huntley only. All the other Rbs were done after a Q and a half.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Tyree Jackson my preseason game 2 guy to watch

This is why I don’t trust Kempski to judge OL.  This statement is too stupid for TATE.  Toth?  Clark sight unseen?

"Personally, I don't think Dillard is even worth the roster spot. If Mailata went down, I'd be more comfortable playing Brett Toth, Jack Driscoll, or maybe even Le'Raven Clark, sight unseen, in favor of Dillard. If Howie Roseman can get as little as sixth-round pick for Dillard, he should snatch that up and never speak of Dillard again”

Yes.  And in past years, they had guys who would look good in the garbage time.  Maybe that's due to the OL depth being better in other years, or the RBs.  We know Mostert became something.   But this OL or RB group didn't show much in the 2nd half.  Most of those guys that were on the field in the 4th quarter have no shot at the roster, including Huntley.

Sanders, Howard, Scott and Gainwell are all ahead of him.  Huntley has to fight with Johnson to get a shot as the #5.  And I don't see keeping 5 RBs on this roster as a very likely outcome.

I don;t trust any writer. There job is to write stories to get people to read. I honestly havent met any that I agree with. Ray Diddy seams to be the most accurate and doesnt write anymore.

Him and BLG have such an axe to grind against Dillard. It's insane.

Kempski should stick to his cartoons.  We have to ask how healthy Clark really is.  He was highly regarded when drafted, but so was Dillard.  Driscoll is a guy I like, but not at LT.  Toth... he was part of that OL that did nothing positive in the 4th quarter.

BTW, that long run by Huntley had TWO holding penalties, they marked the penalty from the first one.   That one occurred at the LOS, likely goes for no gain without it.

Huntley needs to look like Danny Woodhead did in the fourth games (two preseasons) when the Jets played the Eagles years ago to make the team.

Huntley did not do horrible despite a bad oline. He broke one for 15+ and was called back on a late pent that had no effect on his run. Had a nice return game as well. I think the Eagles know they cant keep him and are looking to get other teams some film to maybe throw a pick out there for him. Doubtful, but worth a shot. If he makes it past waivers, I can see him as one of the two PS players each week they put a lock on.

I liked Clark as a potential swing tackle when he was coming out of Texas Tech.  A little slow.  Decent feet needing polish but his hands were useless. Tended to get head heavy.  Not overly impressed with what I saw with Indy but really didn’t watch a lot of his games. But he is a spot starter, a swing, not a starter.

Nope.  Just rewatched the second half.  There was a penalty at the LOS, and that did have an effect on the run, it gave him an easy edge.

They may be looking to showcase him, but how big a market is there for JAG RBs these days?   But, let's go with your premise... what is the reason to use a lock on him on the PS?  What's his upside?

A fifteen yarder with two holding penalties that helped him get fifteen yards is a bit meaningless.  I thought he looked lost catching passes.

Agreed.  That's why Clark was available this offseason.

^ yup

Hard to judge the RBs when we barely gave them the ball.

Huntley definitely did not look natural catching the ball. He fought it both times he was targeted.

In confused as to why some here think Dillard is any good. Was not good as a rookie and all reports over the past two summers before he got injured both times were of how bad he looked in camp.  This summer it sounded like he's looked the worst in his career and this is after a spring where Eagles PR were just pumping up this new and improved Dillard.  He's 26 years old in his 3rd year.  He is what he is and it isn't good.

Pretty impressed with some of the rookie QBs

I'm partial but thought Zach Wilson looked great.

Made some great throws some in tight wi does he's got a strong arm and a quick release and like Mahomes can throw from different arm levels, maybe the jets won't ruin him.

Trey Lance though the stats were ugly he had a couple nice throws, he's a big QB reminds me of a taller Culpepper.

Not sure what to make if fields, put up some stats but all of it was against guys that most likely will be selling Insurance in a few weeks

Lawrence barely played and while I didn't see any great throws he looked comfortable and calm in the pocket.

Having said that it's tough to guage hurts, he made that really top level throw to Goedert and the rest was just ok, his run for 2 yards on 3 and 4 was gross.

He doesn't have the arm talent of guys like Wilson and Lawrence and sometimes it's not all about arm talent so I'm excited to see how he stacks up week 2 with the rest of the rookies.

Yup what was it 11 total carries?

I agree though Huntley looked ti be fighting the ball on his receptions, could be nerves as he was a good receiver in college with 2 seasons of 40+ catches and another with 39.

He looked fast as a runner would have liked to see him get more touches.

Tough though when the Steelers controlled the ball for 40 minutes

Not a rookie , but was looking good pre injury , Jordan Love

Imo Wilson look the best of the rookies

Who else will make it? Cox and Kelce but then I'm not sure anyone else.  Maybe Slay but doubtful.  Don't think Lane does since he missed a good amount of time with injuries

Kempski has an axe to grind with Dillard. Anything he says in that regard is to be ignored. It's too bad, because Kempski had the makings of a good beat guy but he's even more transparent with his prejudices than, say, McLane and almost as bad as Marcus Hayes . Coverage of the team has never been worse.

Yup.

Jordan love is an interesting guy

Sophomore year tore it up then all his weapons graduated and he got a new coach new offense and not surprisingly struggled.

Then came out a year early and has been sitting behind the brooding Rodgers

But yeah he's looked good when he's had his chances.

You are always looking at possible upgrades, but cost matters.

They passed over Fields for reasons that were obvious, Fields is as raw as Hurts, he may have a stronger arm but Hurts has better intangibles. So it made more sense to go after an elite WR.

Hurts is totally like a 10.0 on intangibles.

Just on Clark, do the beat writers really want Matt Pryor to play RT? Without attempts to address RT/LT depth, then that is the scenario the Eagles are facing.  Or Casey Tucker or Toth. Snarkiness over thought is not what makes a "journalist".  It works for people that run external blogs/news sites to get clicks.
