Ike and Jon aren't bad

They have some pretty stupid takes and Ike is getting worse at evaluating football somehow.  Don't get me wrong, if I am in the car, I will listen to whoever is on because of course we are obsessed with sports but I don't necessarily think too many of them give good insight.  That being said, in general, our fan base is one of the best in the nation so I can't imagine how other states or national callers sound.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

The Patriots will not make the playoffs this season and will lose twice to the Jets.

Don't care, as long as they beat the Dolphins twice.

Jerome?  Obviously hard to tell, since he didn't play as long.  He was a beast but had maturity issues.  Cox and Graham were instrumental in getting our first Lombardi, so with that, they will go down as all time favorites.  But Reggie was ridiculous.  Best defensive linemen of all time.

Graham and Cox combined have 84 1/2 less sacks than Reggie.

Jimmy's high pitched voice rubs me the wrong way sometime

If he says more than 10 words in a row, I change the station.  Every single sentence is like a 10 year old screeching with hit nuts being held.  Not every sentence needs emphasis.  On days when he runs the show because Joe is out, I have to change it to 97.5.

Is that a dress he's wearing?

Future NFL uniforms?  Maybe this is what they'll wear once they go full flag football.

I’d be worried about that too. When I think of things that take "no talent”, I’m thinking about getting to practice on time or just being a good human. Everything they do involves some kind of talent.

Maybe no talent in the NFL is just a high bar.

A lot of what players do requires "no talent," i.e. fundamentals like mechanics and footwork, reading defenses, etc.

The skills that are developed by numerous boring reps and hours watching film.

Yeah.  I agree 100%.  Then he takes the counterpoint of Jon.  And when someone says something he disagrees with or he can't believe, it's the high pitched "WHAT"??  When the 3 of them talk pop culture it's good stuff.  Beat the Hammer on Friday's is always fun.  Of course I do a lot better than I would if I were to call in and try to compete.

The over the top piling on Joe is lame at times.  Especially people call in to take their shots at him.  It's weak and unoriginal.

Beat the hammer is awesome and his rain man memory for most recalls is insane.

I wanna bish slap him when the "WHHHAAAATTTTE" is coming through my speakers.  Some of the stuff Joe does warrants being abused but most of it doesn't.  The guy is about as tech savvy as a 90 year old 😂

Reading defenses takes no talent. Clayton Thorson is a modern day Peyton Manning, just puts in the work and VOILA

You do know that there are other talents then just physical talents, right?  Footwork, mechanics watching film and reading defenses can all be considered "talent".  Things that you have to work on to get better at.  It's not just physical acts that require talent.  An artist has talent.  A singer has talent.  A chef has talent.  They all need to work hard at their craft to perfect their talent.

What they are talking about is:

being on time

commitment

working hard

being detailed

eating right

staying out of trouble

I mean I could go on and on....

I agree with you, but if that’s what Hurts is working on then…oof.

When is the first round of major cuts?

They aren't really major until the last one. They need to cut 3 by tomorrow afternoon. Then 5 more by next Tuesday.

Yep.  Here is the comparison I posted in that thread.

Graham has 59 sacks in 159 games.

Reggie had 57 sacks in 44 games during the 86-88 seasons.

Banking Lurie’s money and not having to work for it.  Smart financial move but he will need to take a job next year or the game will pass him by.

One could make an argument for cox being up there with Jerome.

But neither cox or especially graham are anywhere near the level of Reggie.

Reggie is often considered the greatest D lineman of all time.

The only other guy regularly in the conversation is Deacon Jones and Deacon got the majority of his sacks off a now illegal head slap move so...

Graham and Cox will both go down as all time great eagles DL but neither belong in the same breath as Reggie he was on a different level.

I think it already did.

One of the worst takes I've ever seen on this site. There is no reason that anyone with a full deck of cards, unless they're trolling (probable) would ever suggest something so damn stupid.

You can make a case that Cox belongs with JB.  Graham has been a good, dependable player for a long time but never great.  He's the king of almost sacking the QB.

You've missed a lot.

Saying Graham is in the same company as Reggie is definitely up there.

Yeah, I am hoping he meant in terms of how they are viewed by the fans....popularity,....something.  Work with me here.  Obviously not in terms of actual talent or ability.  But there has been some pretty dumb takes around these parts.

Fair enough. Sadly, very true.

Most of them in threads started by the guy who started that thread.

Looking forward to December 19 when they beat the Colts too.  October 3, I think we pull for the Colts over the Dolphins or a tie because we won’t know about the level of the Colts pick at that point but the Dolphins pick is a definite first.

There have been some interesting takes but this is top 5.
