First, you missed the point. You said you would talk about real football (insinuating that practice isn't discussion worthy) --- then immediately put him down for "failing a physical" (as if that is a football game). Still over your head or are you going to keep harping on that?

To the main point --- I could be wrong, but I would assume "failing the physical" would give the Eagles an out on paying him for not being a full participant. It probably appears better than reporting him "mentally unstable."

Idk in the city of Philadelphia as an athlete you are more rare if you are mentally stable.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

I agree.  Those defenses of the pass happy Big12 will get more and more play.  I believe the 3-3-5 is also in play more often, because of where/how the 3rd "LB" attacks the play.  He can be rolled up as a DE for 4-2-5 look or stick 3-3-5 with a 3rd LB or even a 2LB/6DB look.  Very flexible package.  Very multiple.

It's amazing how stuff moves from college into the NFL on both sides of the ball.  The zone read, bubble and tunnel screens,  jet action/sweep, and spread all were big in college first.

Duh. SDSU plays a 3-3-5. But, like you said, with the incredible athleticism of modern DE’s it’s very easy for NFL teams to go multiple.

Interestingly, last week I heard Mike Lombardi say Jimmy Johnson brought the Quarters defense with him from Miami. Most NFL people said this "college system” wouldn’t work in the NFL. Unfortunately, they were wrong.

Have we learned any more about Gannon’s philosophy since training camp started?

I dunno, they all just look and sound so generic and Madden generated.  I'd rather see different design logo design concepts than trying to be edgy.  Find a graphic designer that can create a logo that feels like a classic and has always been around.  The Tampa Rays did a good job with "fauxback" uniforms where they imagined what their team would have worn in the 70s.

They just lack so much imagination and creativity IMO.

The Rays don't have many throwback uniforms, so they invented some | For The Win

Let’s all get excited about a defense who’s looking good against an offense in practice who’s best player is Nelson Agholor

It's only bickering because we have people in here spiking the football over how we dominated a freaking practice.

Oh I know, he has a nice catch on a 1v1 and  he’s suddenly Jerry Rice

Meanwhile in team drills he really didn’t do anything noteworthy at all besides dropping a pass

Please cite the posts comparing Reagor to Jerry Rice. I’d be interested to see them.

Stick with the "I could be wrong” story.    Because that suits you a lot better.  I posted the link to his own words, about him taking responsibility for failing the conditioning test, in another post.  I don’t care if you believe it or not.  You’re taking your lumps.  I would suggest you just take the L and move on.  But I don’t think you’re capable of even realizing how foolish you look tonight.

Your link didn't work, but I believe it says what you say it says.

Give me a break about that last part.  I have opinions. I couldn't care less if you disagree. I enjoy the discussion ( on the EMB)  . Your disagreement isn't a "win." The fact that you see this as some sort of competition is a riot.

I feel so foolish because one of my team's players has been improving as a player in practice. Woe is me ...

But how does that defense look against Jalen Reagor?   That’s the real test.

I’m actually interested in seeing something other than a Jim Schwartz led defense to be quite honest.

Redwolves is the only one is that is even remotely cool. The rest sound like they should be an MLS or arena league team.

I dunno, I hear Redwolves and I immediately think of The Program, even though they were the Timberwolves.  Just such a generic movie/video game/D-League name.

As soon as I see all the ones about people giving up on Reagor and wanting him cut.

Hyperbole works both ways, imagine that.

Now he’s giving away MVP editions? Kid has an ego.

Add Bo Wulf to ESP and Kaye who think JJAW is pushing for a roster spot.

JJAW offers no upside as a wr and frankly can’t even eat snaps at WR in the event of injury.  Even  Ward and Hightower are clearly ahead there.  They’ve shown they’d rather bring people off the couch before playing JJAW at WR.

So in my mind, JJAW isn’t competing with Ward/Hightower for a roster spot.  He’s competing with the linebackers and safeties on the back end.  If there is a linebacker who they’ll never play on defense but has a roster shot due to ST…that’s JJAWs competition right there.

Won't go over well "on the board" but from what I've seen in game action? JJAW's been one of the best ST players on the team

Don't know if that earns him a spot.  Been trying to keep some of my impressions to myself,  another thing I've noticed but I have to admit the team isn't under the microscope with me this year, is that Gainwell and Scott do a lot of the same things. Don't know what that means for the little fella.

Then your an idiot because he’s played only 20 ST snaps in his entire career

No I'm only talking in the preseason games this year.  It's ok if you think I'm an Idiot.

Oh my bad. 7 snaps. And what stood out in 7 whole snaps?

I’ve been starting to wonder how much stock Fulgham has. You barely hear about him in camp, he wasn’t targeted once in the preseason game, and it’s not like the team is invested in him at all from a money as well as draft pick standpoint.

I don’t know. It’s really hard to refute "made a couple of plays in kick off coverage” (whatever that means) and "plays like someone that wants a job (whatever that means) across 7 whole snaps. Clearly that’s solid proof he’s the best ST’er we got.
