I don't know, Andrews and Brooks were both dominant RGs, Brooks might be a tad bit more athletic, Andrews a bit more powerful.

Brooks is a good example of patience, mediocre in college, off the chart workout but still fell to the 4th round, gradually improved and Howie was smart enough to see a guy who had upside and snatched him up and let Stoutland work his magic. Mudd, Castillo and Stoutland - has any team had as good of a run of OL coaches?

Of course they let Bobbie Williams walk, one of the worst mistakes of the AR era.

Meh Bobbie Williams was nothing special but I didn't like the release either

The Texans letting brooks go now that was a mistake.

Coincidentally the Texans thought he was soft and not mentally tough🤔

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

So McNabb doesn't count, Vick doesn't count feeley doesn't count

Show me the progression of McNabb as a passer under Andy Reid.  There is not one.

I already posted the Vick stats, here it is again, show me the progression under Reid.

He did not develop Vick, sure, his first year he completed 62.6% of his passes, then it went down every year.  59.8, then 58.1, 54.6.

I tend to think of development as a guy getting progressively better.

Vick 2010, 21 TD v 6 int

Vick 2011, 18 TD v 14 int

Vick 2012, 12 TD v 10 picks.

I hope it does. It’s preseason, give them some experience in the elements when it doesn’t count

No thanks, I think this discussion has hit a wall and has reached its natural conclusion.

Good day sir.

Yeah, and if there is lightening, the game could get called.

That would suck, I mean I'm all for players not getting electrified but would be sad if game got cancelled☹️

Texans wanted to keep him, he just didn’t want to stay

Well then best choice he ever made, that franchise is a raging dumpster fire.

That is because you have not shown me any progression for any QB.  I have shown you regression.

Ok

It’s very possible to compare two great coaches without going the negative route. Reid is one of best at developing QBs.

Haven’t watched this, but I agree.

Lol I liked the move he did making the DB spin

Hurts could have helped him out more on some of those throws

C'mon IP, it was not "his dream" to make an NFL team at 34 years old as a TE. That's ridiculous.

It was his dream to play in the NFL.  I don't begrudge someone the opportunity to chase their dream.    It's ridiculous to call him selfish for doing what any one of us would have killed for a chance to do, at any age.

No it was his dream to get drafted and play in the NFL.  Then it was his dream to play in MLB.  But he had another dream to be a 4th string Tight End on a crap team that will be coached by his former college coach, for about 2 years before he cuts bait and runs to the next opportunity.

Sure hope he is out of dreams, so younger more deserving guys have a chance at theirs.

Interesting choice of words... I wonder what they did to 'deserve' that opportunity.

Blame the Jags, not Tebow.

Yup.

The plot thickens.  FBI investigating Watson accusers for extortion.

Was watching the Pat Mcafee show yesterday and they had a Pats reporter on and he talked about how good Hurts looked even mentioning accuracy.

Im reserving judgment till the real games start but I thought that was interesting coming from the Patriots reporter.

They have been watching Cam Newton and Mac Jones but yeah that's a good sign.

Pretty ridiculous discussion anyway.  Joe Montana had his best career season the year after Walsh left, was an All-Pro for both of the next 2 seasons, and Walsh's offense was middle of the pack at best until Montana came along.  Steve Young was developed by Holmgren and Shanahan.

QB makes coach and vice versa in 99% of cases.  Really good system is made by (and makes) a great QB -- it goes hand-in-hand.

Now Bill Walsh only developed starting QB’s.  I’ve seen and heard it all.

Ken Anderson, Joe Montana, Steve Young... if that's all he did, that's pretty darn impressive.  Crazy that that would be a negative.

Incidentally, Steve Young was a 'backup' QB for a (relatively) long time in SF.

Not sure how anyone could argue against Walsh as the greatest QB guru in NFL history.  Two HoFers and a third guy that was an All Pro, Pro Bowl QB.

Apologies if posted, did not see it in the last 6-7 pages

He seems like a decent PS prospect.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes it back in that capacity once healed.

Hater! Why do you hate Hurts and hate the Philadelphia Eagles, troll?

Walsh was only with Steve young for 2 years.

Walsh left after 88 Steve young got to SF in 87

So Walsh didn't have a lot to do with youngs development especially since he was a backup his first few years with SF.

Seifert and his staff get more credit for Montana imo.

If we're going to credit Walsh with Ken Anderson as he wasn't head coach or even OC of the Bengals then whoever the OC ir QB coach of Montana was should get just as much credit as Walsh did for Anderson

I'm not saying Walsh isn't a great developer of qbs or not even the greatest.

I'm saying it's fair to debate whether or not Reid was just as good or better.

Kinda hope this guy becomes an Eagle at some point just to see the attempts at spelling his name

It's really like that in this facebook group I'm in. Any criticism and you hate Hurts and want Wentz back

Oh wow look at that.  It clearly says the FBI is investigating one of the women and you take that and turn it into all of Watson's accusers plural.  Just like you did when you incidated all of the accusers when 2 agreed to a follow up appointment.

But he was the QB coach from 71-75, and you know, he did develop the offense that Anderson played in, the offense that revolutionized the NFL.

Also, if you look at the Bengals coaching history, they did not have an official offensive coordinator until 1982.  I will assume that seeing as Bill Walsh developed an entirely new ground breaking offense, he would have been by default the offensive coordinator.
