August 18, 20214 yr I'm allowing myself to indulge in some preseason optimism. Imagine... Hurts proves to be a legit starter. Devonta is the #1 many of us think he is. Reagor and Quez become legit starters. Mailata and Sweat take the next step, fortifying two premium positions. 3 first round picks.

I got thinking about this last night too, would be monumental for team going forward but obviously very unlikely. in the hypothetical that does come true, those 3 first round picks id hope Eagles could target OL/DL/DB.

Hurts proving he can actually play would be enormous, even if the other things don't happen (I think most of them will). Not having to waste picks to move around for a QB would be amazing. Howie sucks at drafting but maybe we can try trading for established players instead

Only bring LG up because Seumalo is set to be a free agent in 2022 I believe or the year after. Besides, it’s noticeable how much better this offense runs when Eagles OL is at full strength, it’s important to keep investing in that group with top talent.

Are Lane and Brooks even tradeable with their contracts? Has there been reports of Seumalo getting an extension?

Not sure if they’re tradable, but I do recall Brooks acknowledging he was on trading block this year. Haven’t seen any reports on Seumalo extension. It’s possible things change, but at this point the way I view things is even though Lane/Brooks are dominant if healthy, there’s still that issue of the "if”. Their injuries are becoming more of a problem & they are now in their 30’s. As for Seumalo i think he’s decent but replaceable.

When I say hate, I mean as our QB, not in real life. I don't care what they do in their personal life but if I was rating him on that, yes, he is a good dude.

August 18, 20214 yr https://www.phillyvoice.com/eagles-stock-up-down-leading-preseason-game-no-2-jalen-hurts-quez-watkins/ Stock Up Jalen Hurts Hurts has mostly been up and down, and early in camp the offense in general put together some of ugliest practices I've ever covered. That wasn't all on Hurts, but his performances didn't help. More recently, however, Hurts has looked much better. He made some nice throws in the preseason game against the Steelers, and he very clearly outperformed Cam Newton and Mac Jones in a pair of joint practices with the New England Patriots this week. His accuracy has improved over the last week or two, and he has demonstrated a command of the offense. August 19, 20214 yr Hurts being better than Jones and Cam is nice to hear, but how hard is it to be better than Jones and Cam?
