So was this Hurts about to throw up or trying to stop a bowel movement or did that already take place at this point?

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Please, please, please no more Matt Pryor as an Eagle. Ever.  He's awful.  Plays like someone has tied his laces together.

Other than that, the backup DL are not good, the backup LBs can't tackle consistently and the coaches focus on not letting anything get on tape, makes it a dry watch.

Why is it we never seem to be able to draft a wide receiver that can simply catch a pass

It's like a curse or something as soon as they become eagles they turn into stone hands!

Remember when we talk "backups" we're talking guys on the bubble, not guys expected to actually play for the most part.

The OL:  Toth - Opeta - Herbig - Driscoll - Pryor, given the top reserves are Dillard, Dickerson, and Driscoll, the other four were playing for one or two roster spots.

Same on the DL:  Williams - Williams - McGill - Jackson, M Williams is the only one guaranteed a roster spot.

You'd like to see someone come out of nowhere, unfortunately, the player doing that (Jackson) is now on IR. But Gainwell and Watkins are late rd picks cementing roster spots.

Smith looked good, the drops he had were just dead plays, never had a chance.  You'd like him to hold on, but we're talking about the difference between 4th&10 and 4th&7.  He was running crisp routes and getting open

Reagor just needs to calm down and do what he is doing in practice.  You can see him rushing his releases and theyre sloppy, hes giving away his route, nothing like what hes shown in practice the last week or so.

More than likely got the craps from working so hard all off season. Did anyone get a video of him crapping I'm guessing he works hard at that too

Don't bother catching the replay.  Waste of 3 hours.  Can't be mad about it.   But, can hold the coaches responsible if (when?) the players aren't ready to go against Atlanta.   Will they have the stamina to finish the game as strong as they start with the shorter, less physical practices and no chances to play 'under the lights' in the actual game situation, as opposed to the 'simulated' game situations?   Will they come out of the gate slowly because they haven't gotten as much work together as they could have had?  Will they need to burn timeouts needlessly due to the communication of Sirianni to Steichen to Hurts in a game, especially with crowd noise?

We'll find out the answers to these and other questions soon enough.

Is this a Sirianni thing or a league wide thing with the extra game? I'd imagine most coaches would take a different approach for this then the usual

How many downs of football has Smith played so far?

Was Huntley hurt? I don’t recall seeing him.

Yes. Been on the list all week long.

Remember when the Eagles stood for being tough?

I'm getting old... so that memory is starting to fade away.  Seems like it was ages ago.

That's not healthy.  Someone should send him a Squatty Potty to make it easier on his body.

In his life? I don't know. Why do you ask?

It seems to be largely a Sirianni (or more exactly, a Lowie) thing. Belichek played his starters for about 3 series last night.  Word is Reid was playing his starters for close to a half.   Going team by team, I think there's a spectrum... but Game 2 is likely like the old Game 3... best place to get the starters some work in a game situation before shutting them down for the regular season.   The Eagles starters (for the vast majority) have only had 2 series in Game 1.  It's doubtful they will play much in Game 3, if at all.

Just needs to eat more bran

He played a half of 1 pre season game.  He hasn't played one game in the NFL yet.

Indeed.   Gotta get that fiber!

Ahh ok, I passed the hell out and didn't get to see anything lol. I have seen a lot of complaints about the starters not playing. So I was curious if it was just us or if everyone seems to be doing it differently.

Why does this just sound so weird? When has a guy ever shown up and warmed up feeling well enough to dance, get sent to a hospital, get discharged and went back to the stadium, just to end up going home in a span of like 3 hours?

Sounds like food poisoning and precautionary tests.  NBD. Should have stayed away from the Swoop shakes at WaWa.  Those looked awful in the autism piece.

Nah, gas station sushi.

LOL.  You seriously think Sirianni is calling the shots?

Yes. This game was a PR nightmare, but a HC's MO.

HCs are more worried about getting ready for the season than providing a telegenic product in preseason.

Belichick saw his team get dominated in scrimmages, he was probably sending a message to his first team to pick it up, Sirianni has a different agenda, he's primarily concerned with evaluating bubble players in the 2nd exhibition game.

20 snaps in an exhibition game are not going to prepare you for the regular season, people read too much into these games.

If you want to get your team primed, more intense practices the week before the first game have a lot more value, 1s against 1s using the whole playbook.

Also, I know this should change, or at least hope that it does, but another game where the positives from the WR were the route running (Smith).  Not catching, running and actually making dynamic plays...the route running.

Well, that’s really what they are looking to see in PS games.   One on one stick in the ground and turn.
