What do you think the rest of the NFL is doing ? Showing everything? probably not , but they are attempting to convert 3rd downs  , you can’t get humming along with your QB in a orange jersey .

Yes, they want to convert but not at the risk of showing their staple third down plays.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

And what happened to Howie after we hired Chip Kelly?

Howie won a power struggle after Chip proved to be terrible, hired Doug, and won a Super Bowl?

If you don’t think OCs want to convert 3rd downs because it’s preseason  , I’m not sure what to tell you .

I guess we shall see in a cpl weeks  , when it’s regular season

I think they want to do a lot of stuff. I'm not the one that made two conflicting statements

Well I guess the rest of the nfl is showing their staple 3rd down plays , because they have converted.

Silly

Nice try. Avoid the fact that Kelly didn’t want to work with Howie and banished him to the other side of the building.

Stop. Other teams have film of their staple plays. Those teams hide their new wrinkles.

Do you really not understand this?

Penn LL up 1-0 over Oregon, top of the 1st in Williamsport.

3rd down conversion is situational football

I said preseason outcomes mean nothing , it’s more about individual performance and situational football , how is that conflicting?

Again you are naive , if you think lack of 3rd down conversion is because they want to hide the playbook  .

The end

There are people who think we can contend because of Hurts and the new young receivers

I forgot about those guys

That is the big concern.  There seemed to be no fight in them at all.  Did they just quit when Jalen Hurts took his leadership to the hospital ??

Maybe, the whole team other than singleton looked to just be going through the motions.

IIRC he said Howie has control of the 90 but Nick has control of the 53

What HC has the time to review 100s of UDFA, SFAs, waiver wire guys, etc.? Of course the GM puts together the 90.

The HC then decides which ones are worth keeping, then works with the GM when it comes to cut down maneuvers designed to try and get guys onto the PS and add guys who are better than the last few players on your roster.

No, they were just generally outmatched.

Q. On final cutdowns will you have final say over the 53-man roster? Then on game day will you have the final say on the game day roster, and how interested are you in being a part of the conversation in terms of free agent acquisitions and the draft? (Jimmy Kempski)

NICK SIRIANNI: Howie has final say over the 53. I believe I have the say over the 47 on game day of what we need to go through the game and get into the game, the pieces that we need.

Don’t know what the point is in arguing this

I mean we got crushed by Belichek. Who likely has an axe to grind thanks to 52, as well as hearing all week how the Eagles looked far superior to his guys. I think he knows how to get his team "up" for a game, even a meaningless preseason one. Hell, I wouldn't put it past ol' Billy to have slipped something into Jalen's drink to take him and the o-line outta the game. It's definitely a greater than 0 chance he did so.

If it was Dan Campbell biting our players legs and we got whooped, I'd be way more concerned. This game was a big nothing burger.

Thanks for clarifying this, Clarke's tweet says Howie will decide  game day actives as well,

Sirrianni apparently days that's his job

I have know problem with the GM deciding 53 I mean that's kind of his job no?

Ok then maybe the NFL should make all pre season games like a buck.

I mean who can honestly say they would pay to see what they did last night after watching it

It was just atrocious.

People pay to go watch practices.

Clark said 53 meaning cut downs and he, meaning Sirianni, has control over inactives. My point was  Sirianni wasn’t as definitive as the tweet makes it seem as he said "I believe I have inactives” but he’s not even sure.

Yes, their 2's better than ours, their 3's better than ours.  Why do you think that is ??

So question for the Blog.

If one already knew what last night's pre season game was going to be like how much would one be willing to pay to watch it???

Same.  I don’t watch PS games as games.  I watch them to try and evaluate the younger players.

Yup a little weird that he'd say "I believe"

As it sounds uncertain.

I'd hope sirrianni has full control over game day actives, the bean counter needs to stay in his lane and sit down.

Remember when the Lions went 4-0 in preseason that one year?

Then turned around and went 0-16.

I’m not arguing anything. I said IIRC and then looked up what he said and posted the tweet

It wasn’t a gotcha moment but I guess yours was. Oh well

We now know Howie has control of 53 and Nick may or may not have control of the game day
