August 21, 20214 yr Washington Football team’s defense looks pretty good. They are my pick to win the division this year
August 21, 20214 yr People starting to sleep on DeVonta because he dropped some passes. They did nothing really in OTAs, he only had 4 practices of camp Cupcake with no tackling and only 60-70 minute sessions. Misses several weeks, does some individual drills Monday and then team drills on Tuesday but doesn't get any passes thrown his way. Thursday was a rookie really getting by far his most action since those 4 short days in early August. First pass to him was really the first time he has been tackled since the 1st half of the National Championship game back in January. His route running was there. His ability after the catch was there. He had some major rust and likely rookie jitters in that first real action of his pro career. He's going to be potentially be the MVP of the team this season. If there is anyone that can beat a QB in a class including Trevor Lawrence. for ROTY it's DeVonta.

August 21, 20214 yr I'm watching this and I'm envisioning week 18, Cowboys @ Eagles January 6th, 2022 SNF and Hurts is hitting DeVonta on a game winning pass with less than a minute left on the clock like this to win the division over the Cowboys.

Devonta looked open on pretty much every play. He's the kind of player you need to feed and look at almost every time as your first read. Really excited to see Jalen and Devonta together. I'm a big Alabama fan and Jalen's mechanics have improved so much since his early days, and he still gets a bad rap for not being a great thrower when he was younger. I can't wait to see them on the field together finally.

The argument has been played out and stats brought to the table but the only concern about his size should be his ability to get off the line and not be bullied off of his route down the field. He has such a master level of footwork and route running though that I think only a special few in the NFL will be able to blanket him over the course of a game.

There’s no denying his talent/skill, but his frame is a perfectly valid concern to how durable he can be in the NFL. Him coming from the SEC lowers that concern, but still a remains a concern. Also wonder how well he can be at protecting the ball from defenders trying to punch it out. Seemed like on Thursday NE defenders didnt have much issue punching the ball out of his arms on one of his incomplete passes. I Haven’t rewatched that play so maybe that was less on Devonta & more on defenders making a nice play. This isn’t a worry of mine just something worth monitoring

I was surprised WFT took the LB Davis in the first instead of Farley/Newsome. That defense should be really tough for long time, wouldn’t be surprised if they’re sitting as a top 3 defense for next few years

August 21, 20214 yr Devonta Smith is one of the greatest separators in college history. In his first pre-season game, CBs couldn't *touch* him at the line. It'll translate. I just don't want him to be in the slot. Seeing him in the middle of field about to get hit is terrifying.

Jarrett Patterson (UDFA) was one of my sleepers I listed in my signature and I believe he’s gonna be a very nice RB for them. He had a good game this week. Ryan Fitzpatrick might be the perfect QB for that team right now.

Starters, especially ones in a new system, need to get familiarity with the new scheme, their responsibility and how those around them will meet their responsibility.

August 21, 20214 yr Brown looks like a player too , WFT appears to have had a nice draft . The QB position will hold them back , I would start Taylor over Fitz
