Top 25 NFL free agents in 2022: Prospective class loaded with pass catchers and defensive backs

Interesting that Barnett isn't on it, and neither is Sweat.

Mailata at 14 and Goedert at 23.

I really wonder if we can trust Sweat's knee, and if the Eagles didn't make a mistake keeping Barnett for $10 million.

Yet Clowney made the list.  Guy's an overrated clown.

Looked like a good hit to me.  Whats the defender supposed to do, wrap his arms around him like a bear hug and then gently lay him on the grass?

Helmet popped off.  You know that's getting a flag just for the optics of it.  Sucks that the league has gone this way.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

It's going to be difficult to keep both Sweat and Barnett. Both will likely get over $10 million a year. Mailata will never make it to free agency. Goedert I could see getting tagged. He's going to want Kittle/Kelce money and I don't think we can afford that next year, but maybe in 2023.

Yup, hits like that on qbs have been legislated out of the league for one reason, to protect the leagues faces, which are generally qbs, which is why these types of hits are generally not flagged when RBs take a hit.

The defender didn't launch his body nor was it helmet to helmet nor did he lower his helmet and hit him with the crown, it was a perfect form tackle 10 years ago but since the defenders helmet made contact with the qbs helmet it's a penalty

It's tough to coach that out of defenders they've been taught their while life to tackle exactly like this defender did and now they are telling them it's wrong.

I coached 9th graders for 7 years and we taught exactly what this defender did, face/head up so one doesn't hurt ones neck, explode up through ones hips stick your face in their chest and wrap with both arms.

Now the target area for a defender especially on a QB has changed and it limited to a small area below the clavicles but above the waist, so basically sternum I guess, can't be too high, anywhere near neck or head is a penalty , low around knees or ankles is a penalty on a QB, that specific of an area to target is tough to do at the speed of the game, it's bang bang.

I rugby they teach cheek to cheek, face cheek to but cheek high tackles are penalties as are low tackles and they've been teaching that tackling for ages and the NFL has brought in rugby coaches to teach that tackling and it will take some time especially when alot of little league and high school coaches are still teaching old school form tackling

Like I said I don't have a problem with the emphasis on safer tackling I have a problem with how it's inconsistently enforced from position to position.

Qbs get treated with kid gloves while other positions this  wouldn't be a penalty

I'm sure Buddy Ryan whose goal was to kill the QB every snap is rolling in his grave with today's NFL, And adapt or get left behind.

Will be interesting to see how Wilson does in practice next week as compared to Hurts. He looks really good today.

That’s a helmet to helmet hit. It would draw a flag on anyone, not just the QB.

Extra special sauce it being the kid from Oheyers State who transferred twice after signing a letter of intent to go to the State Penn

Perfectly clean hit by the way. Dan Hampton just verified this via InstaGoof.

On that note, we are constantly misusing technology or should I say underutitlizing it.

You know how they have those apps now on cell phones to detect telemarketers and malcontents?  All you need is an app that plays this every time a derelict fake bill collector or guy who swears he has exactly the miniblinds you need calls.

I thought Wilson may be best QB if the draft , and he is looking good  , looks calm back there

I don't think it was but I'm not a ref so it doesn't matter what I think...

As soon as I saw the defender lower his hips I thought this will be a penalty...

In the slow motion view the defender actually turns his head to the side to avoid fields helmet and his helmet contacts fields shoulder, but the helmet gets popped off from the upward a ton to fields shoulder pad so it looks worse than it is, at least in my view.

Ref was going to call it anyway

Not a big baseball fan , but I do enjoy collecting cards of value , so , who are a couple young future stars ?

Well the Giants may be drafting number one. Fortunately Gettleman will still probably be making the picks.

Man the Texans are the easiest choice to be picking number 1 this year in forever

I think it will be the Jaguars again. Urban is gonna be terrible

Don’t see it happening, the Jaguars have a much better roster than Texans. That’ll carry them to at least 3-4 wins. Texans could barely win even with Watson in the fold last season, now they’ll likely be without him. I wouldn’t be shocked if Texans go 0-16 this year

Mack Hollins playing well for the Dolphins.

This is why I drink.

I see Fields had a very Hurts-esque day

Have been saying this for months. Has a higher ceiling, but they are very similar.

There is also something to be said for actually making yourself noticed on one of those highlight reels everyone checks out on YouTube.

I don’t disagree. But let’s not compare that to what coaches are looking for in actual preseason tape
