Chad Lewis was a scrub, and he led the team in receiving yards.

I knew he was. thats my point with how bad the WR's were

Now  you are calling him a scrub, after you went and edited your post removing you had his jersey.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

What are you talking about?

What I said was, because Andy is the GOAT he took trash at the WR position and made them into a top 10 offense more then not.

GOAT of what? Losing in championship games?

So replacing the Worst QB in the league with the BEST qb in the league results in zero wins?

Replacing a top 3 coach with one of the worst in history is worth zero wins.

We live in Bizaro world and people argue just to argue.

The best QB in the league had far more talent around him in the Super Bowl, lost 2 offensive lineman, and it resulted in 9 points.   Imagine if he only had his starting center.  Imagine if Kelce was mailing it in like Ertz.  Imagine if Tyreek Hill forgot how to play WR like Jalen Reagor.

Not sure what is funnier, that he thinks Lewis was a WR, or that he thinks Lewis was a scrub.

If Chad didn't go down against the Falcons they win the SB that year.

Are you comparing one of the  best defense in the league that had 2 weeks to prep for Mahomes to the Bengals? Cowboys lol

and, yes I know how bad the Eagles Oline was but you act like no one else had injuries.

Chiefs starting LG miss 6 games, RT missed 6 games, Center missed 5 games.

Lol I bow out. That logic is so flawed to me. Good day sir

Watched some of KC and Arizona. Both coaches played their starters well into the second quarter.

Has anyone sat down and watched other pre-season games and thought that other teams just look lightyears ahead of the Eagles?

The Steelers rookies look fantastic.  The Browns appear to have great depth.  The Jets have a legit QB to build a team around.  The Redskins are a QB away from being a SB contender.  There are RB3 and RB4 all over the NFL I would take as RB2 here.

I know the Eagles are rebuilding but even in a rebuild there should be guys to be excited about.  So far all I have is the following....and it's a stretch:

-Milton Williams looks to be a force.

-Quez Watkins had a great TD and should have had another.

-Smith ran nice routes. (also injured twice already)

-Singleton makes a lot of tackles.

-Harris looks physical at safety.

-Elliot (pre injury) appears to be back on track.

I want to be positive and excited but I'm just not finding much.  For a team to put so much emphasis on the value of practice they sure were quick to side with the veterans and cancel OTA's.  I know I've harped on that a lot but it just doesn't make sense.  This team and this coaching staff need as much time on the field together as possible.

Do any of the WR other than Smith, Reagor and Watkins have a reception?  Even those 3 combined only have what 7 catches through 2 games?  None of them from Jalen Hurts btw.  Think about that.  It's possible that we go in to week 1 without Hurts completing a pass to a WR.  Is pre-season overrated?  Maybe, but I also think it's a case by case situation.  With a brand new staff and a new starting QB, I would think you want as much time on the field as possible.  You can't replicate live game action in joint practices when you aren't even tackling.

I think we're in for a long long year.

I always have been pretty out on the teams chances this year, so the pre-season isn't doing much for me one way or the other. The one excuse that keeps getting thrown around is "this isn't Nick's offense, he's playing vanilla" is kind of concerning to me. He's preached learning and perfecting the little things but the team can't go out and execute basic plays of an NFL offense? And Sirianni is more than likely not going to come out week 1 with some exotic scheme the likes of which no one has ever seen. He's not going to do anything special like Chip Kelly did when they came out Week1 and caught teams off guard. The only thing I think they are hiding is designed QB runs.

Obviously.  KC still needs to determine if Mahomes is a franchise QB.

If those QB runs are the same as Doug drew up last season -- Hurts takes shotgun snap and burrows into the interior of the DL for 1-2 yards -- then I know we're screwed.

He is having the worst day in the history of this blog.  A quick summary.

Andy Reid turned multiple scrubs into pro bowlers ( apparently TO, DeSean and Tyreek Hill are scrubs )

Reggie Brown had 900 yards ( actually had 816 yards )

Reggie Brown never played again after never having 900 yards ( actually played in 40 more games )

Mahomes would have won way more games than Wentz / Hurts ( scored 9 points in Super Bowl with a superiorly talented team that only lost two offensive lineman )

Called Chad Lewis a WR, then a scrub, and then deleted the part of this post that he knows what position he played because he owned his jersey after he called him a scrub.

I think what the argument is that the 'best QB' in the NFL looked quite pedestrian when the other elements around him were not up to snuff.  Not surprisingly, the QB position depends on the other positions around it, and the other positions depend on the QB position.   Football is a team sport and rarely is a single position at fault for all the problems of a given team.

Skimming through the Blog…

Yikes.

In 2017 the preseason Eagles overall looked mediocre, Mack Hollins looked like a star and fans wanted LeGarrette Blount cut and Byron Marshall to start.

You cant take anything from preseason at all. Even after the first couple of games you really cant tell how good or bad a team is going to be.
