I am well acquainted with Chad Lewis.  Had he not had the Lis Franc injury in the NFCCG in '04, the Eagles likely win that Super Bowl against the Pats.  LJ Smith killed them.  1 fumble, and 1 dropped TD pass.  Major change to the game early.  Maybe they can't hold on, but the Eagles completely dominated the Pats in the first half, but couldn't get any distance because they struggled to capitalize.  So sad.

Again, this is why Eagles fan bases get a bad rap. If Chad Lewis put those numbers up for the Giants, or Cowboys we'd call him a scrub and a bum. but because he's one of ours, he gets a pass. 

Even Engram has more yards than Chad Lewis  in half the time and people on here act like Engram shouldnt even be in the league lol 

You realize Chad Lewis was a 26 year old rookie right???

He didn't get cut 3 times in nine years, he got cut 3 times in 3 years.

He was a solid TE, great teammate hard worker, reliable receiver, good enough blocker.

Let's not forget he also caught 2 tds sending the eagles to the super bowl and broke his foot doing it.

Losing him for the super bowl was a big blow as LJ Smith took on a bigger role and choked, Lewis was a steadying force for that offense.

I'll take ten Chad Lewis's every day if the week and twice on Sunday, not because he's an all pro or hyper athlete but because one can win and did with Chad Lewis

It's amazing that people still use raw numbers to compare 2021 players to 2000 players. The league is so different that the comparisons are absurd.

Ertz has had a good camp by all accounts and reportedly the coaches really like them, but if the saints make a good offer for Ertz would make more sense to get something of value for him rather than just letting him walk next year

If there was ever a moment Howie decided to hold onto Ertz in case there was an injury somewhere else, now is the time. That's their two top tight ends if we aren't including Taysom Hill, and both might be done for the season. Get a third and move on.

I'm intrigued to see what Payton can do with Winston. Winston has the arm talent to succeed, but it's what's between his ears that hold him back. If Payton can get through to him to cut back on the INTs (from say 30 to 15), Winston could end up having a nice year there.

The only way to compare between eras is to compare how individual players related to their peers.  It is far from a perfect comparison, but it is going to be a much better option than the numbers.   I mean, Johnny Unitas numbers can't compare with the numbers from Gardner Minshew, or even Mitchell Trubisky.   Either one must be the better QB... no doubt.
