Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Players seem to hate media in the locker room.  Understandable.  Suspect the NFL will use Covid to ween the media from that access and go to trotting out players for press access at the interview room going forward.

I honestly don’t have a problem with that. I would hate to do interviews with media all the time.

Especially right after a loss

Great might be over doing it, but it's fun to watch, the acting is atrocious and the plot predictable and  the special effects are as hokey as the dialogue, but I'll watch it when it's on.

The book was better but I like Heinlein.  You have to have an open mind for a lot of his writing because he was ahead of his time in accepting differences.  My favorite of his is Job: A Comedy of Justice. He bounced all over the spectrum of science fiction.

My best list includes

Citizen Kane

Modern Times

The Best Years of Our Lives

Out of the Past

Cries and Whispers

Jules and Jim

The Raid

Raiders of the Lost Ark

The Godfather 1 and 2

Gallipoli

Blade Runner

2001, A Space Odyssey

Dr. Strangelove

A Clockwork Orange

Mad Max: Glory Road

The Wild Bunch

Die Hard

The Seven Samurai

The Hustler

BTW, to the poster who attributed Aliens to Ridley Scott, James Cameron directed that. Scott did Alien, which is a seminal film. Aliens is great as well but not the original and so takes second place.

I’m leaving out a score or more of great films.

My favorite was The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress and the runner up, Stranger in a Strange Land.

More from the agents survey in The Athletic.  A list of possible replacements for Howie.  Hope Lurie subscribes.

11. Who is a future GM to watch?

Saints VP of football administration Khai Harley, 49ers vice president of player personnel Adam Peters, Patriots consultant Eliot Wolf, Chiefs director of football operations Mike Borgonzi, Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds, Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen (two votes)

“(Dodds is a) great talent evaluator, which is the old-school GM trait, but also really good with people and has learned how this works under Chris Ballard. No BS. He’ll tell you he doesn’t like a player and why.”

"Harley has done a brilliant job managing (the Saints’) cap. The organization runs deep in the front office, and he’s been around a lot of good guys.”

“(Peters) should be a GM by now.”

"Schoen is everything that Brandon Beane is. So talented.”

Others: Bengals scout Trey Brown, Browns vice president of player personnel Glenn Cook, Buccaneers vice president of football administration Mike Greenberg, Cardinals director of player personnel Dru Grigson, Jets assistant GM Rex Hogan, Dolphins co-director of player personnel Anthony Hunt, Raiders director of pro personnel Dwayne Joseph, Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly, Seahawks VP of player personnel Trent Kirchner, Lions director of scouting advancement Mike Martin, Buccaneers director of pro scouting Rob McCartney, Panthers assistant GM Dan Morgan, Ravens senior vice president of football operations Pat Moriarty, Jets director of pro personnel Greg Nejmeh, Athletes First senior executive Eric Schaffer, Panthers director of player negotiations Samir Suleiman, Packers co-director of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan, Seahawks director of pro personnel Nolan Teasley, Chiefs senior director of pro personnel Tim Terry, Browns national scout Charles Walls, Packers director of pro personnel Richmond Williams.

"I don’t know how (Kirschner) doesn’t have a job by now.”

“(Nejmeh) never misses on players. Never. He has a knack for understanding a player’s value and what to look for. You only let me pick one, but (Chiefs VP of football operations) Brandt Tilis is another future GM, for sure.”

“(Sullivan) is running a team in the next few years. Understands the big picture of what the organization is trying to do but also sees how players fit. He has a really good viewpoint of what he sees.”

(Note: Paton shared the most votes in this category last year and was named Broncos GM in January. Also mentioned last year and hired as a GM in January were the Panthers’ Fitterer and Falcons’ Terry Fontenot.)

What in God's name is a book? Wait is that the reading thing some people talk about?

Moon is a strong second for me and Stranger is in my top five of his books.

That would be a girl named Heidi in my high school.  But she took her exotic dancing to such a sensual artistic level, you almost forgot she was a stripper.  She could have seen her as a character in a Heinlein novel.  Thanks for dredging up that memory.  It’s been years since I thought of that.

Context?  1 on 1s favor the defender.

Good movies are one thing, but lets talk about movies considered horrible that you like.

The Shadow, everyone considers this movie a pile of crap, but I always watch when it is on.

Gymkata.......I know I'm not the only one who has seen this movie growing up.

The media asks the same boring, pointless questions all the time anyway.

He is. Because he's picked the "preseason games don't matter at all" side.

At the PC's yea. If they were allowed in the locker room the players can open up more, which leads to better stories/reports, which is better for fans.

Cmon man, I'm an Aussie, that has my boy Richard Norton in it.

I have seen every cheesy martial arts movie.  That was my thing as a kid.

Here is all the proper context you need:

Valoaga is a 2017 UDFA signing who’s been on five teams since entering the league. He has one sack and seven tackle in 13 games played. Hasn’t played a snap since December 2019. Probably not great to be getting trucked by him.

I had no idea it was a book, and most books are better than their movie counterparts.

To each their own.

Whatever happened to that guy? Did he get banned or just leave the old board? Is he banned on the new board too or would he be allowed back?

Is this the Tom Hardy remake with the guy with the guitar?

If so, yes completely left that one off the list of GREAT movies recently.

That movie was such a surprise but had everything a Movie is supposed to be. Movies are not supposed to be real life. Sure Rain Man was great but Blade Runner was better !

That movie he does about the Kray brothers is good too, as was that short series that never came back ( Or else I dropped the service  ... Taboo )

Yes it is. Can you believe the director of the Mad Max movies also directed Babe, about a pig? My wife and i saw Babe in a theater and when it was over a guy behind us, big, bearded, wearing full motorcycle colors, stood up and said, "Man, that was fxxckimg great.”

Check out Tom Hardy’s movie The Drop. Terrific. Based on a story bu Dennis Lehane, one of our best current writers

Used to love that movie as a kid.  Always thought the lead actor was the dude from MacGyver.
