I had no idea it was a book, and most books are better than their movie counterparts.

Absolutely...

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

That would be a girl named Heidi in my high school.  But she took her exotic dancing to such a sensual artistic level, you almost forgot she was a stripper.  She could have seen her as a character in a Heinlein novel.  Thanks for dredging up that memory.  It’s been years since I thought of that.

here's my list of some favs to watch over again

kelly's heroes

the last outlaw

lock , stock and two smoking barrels

rock n rolla

layer cake

snatch

munich

the girl with the dragon tattoo

boon dock saints

harley davidson and the marlboro man (the song track makes it better)

That's some good films there.

I have what I refer to as The 4 Coolest Films Ever Made, which are:

V For Vendetta

Fight Club

Snatch

The Usual Suspects

Also think Guy's recent film The Gentlemen is really good.

But, because of my father, I also appreciate some older films before my time, which include John Wayne's Westerns.

The Searchers

Rio Bravo and El Dorado, which are basically the same film just with different characters supporting Wayne in each one.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

The Quiet Man, for anyone who never thought The Duke could pull off a RomCom, plus it has great scenes of Ireland.

Stalag 17

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

It's A Wonderful Life

Ditto...  third for me was Glory Road...

Interesting choice.  Probably forty years since I read that one.  There was a Half Price Books near me that must have had a sci fi reader bring in a group of Heinlein books and that was one of them.  So was Starship Troopers.  So was Podkayne of Mars. I bought at least a half dozen or so and was hooked.

Interestingly, it's prob been over 40 years since I read most Heinlein (have read them all), but I just recently re-read Glory Road...  intend to reread a few others...  Stranger in  Strange Land and  Moon is a Harsh Mistress to name two others

Never.  He is best as the voice of God.

For your weak stomach.  Tonight I ate street tacos with a shredded chicken in a kind of carne asada type sauce with carmelized onions and slow cooked with stewed Roma tomatoes, poblanos in strips, diced Anaheims, sliced jalapeños and for grins sliced Serrano. All except the onions from my garden.  If you cannot handle Chipotle, this would reek havoc on you.  For me, it was nicely spicy with the heat cut a bit by the beans, lettuce and guacamole. I won’t suffer any from that.  The trick is to drink milk with the meal.

It is more or less the same script, but Rio Bravo is the far superior film, IMO...

After everyone stops googling "Top Movies" lets be real with the list everyone should be typing

EuroTrip

Sex Drive

Beerfeast

The Hollywood Knights

Animal House

Vacation

Airplane

CaddyShack

Harold and Kumar Christmas

Out Cold

Van Wilder

Road Trip

Old School

The 3 bolded in black are classics.  I grew up on this ish and love it.  I bet most people don't know The Hollywood Knights had Michelle Pfeiffer, Tony Danza, Fran Drescher, and Robert Wuhl in it.  Good ol' sophomoric T&A movies.  Caddy Shack and Animal House with so many quotable lines.

Sex Drive was pretty funny, especially Seth Green playing the sarcastic Amish guy.  Might be one of the best/funniest characters in movie history.  He F'ing nailed that.

Meatballs should also have been included here.  Bill Murray double dip.

Oh, and Tom Hanks finest film he ever made.....Bachelor Party!

Jackson Hole is my favorite airport so far. Super small, nothing really to eat or drink, but it was just a beautiful scenery landing right next to mountains. The turbulence while landing though was brutal.

Only thing about Jackson Hole from a flying perspective is to pay attention to the obstacle clearance departure procedures. An Air Force C130  supporting  the Clinton era Secret Service didn't. A C130 will fly thru a lot but it won't fly thru a mountain. That IS some beautiful country though.

Here’s a challenge:  the best action movie ever.

My pick: The Raid.

For some reason reading this reminded me of this:

Agree.  It was the first one with El Dorado coming 7 years later.  Rio Bravo had a young Angie Dickenson, who was quite the peach back then.  And Dean Martin paired with Ricky Nelson for a duet in the middle of a Western.  Most people nowadays don't care for the slower paced films, but I'm cool with it.

I really hope it's an ESP take but I think the Eagles really have this mindset too.  Better than PS games!

If they are not "live" in these intra-squad practices... .    I get the fear of injury, but no hitting in practice isn't going to protect you in the regular season, in fact, it might make them more susceptible when the regular season comes.

Die Hard

I don't think it's an either/or, what they like about controlled scrimmages is the "control," they want players to transfer from film to field, and it's hard to do in a game situation where they play a quarter or half and many of the situations you want them to work on never occur.

Not sure two a days are needed these days. The athletes that stick work on their craft and their condition year round.  But tackling just tackling dummies isn’t enough to get that level of preparation.  I certainly understand your position and don’t disagree with it but I think most starters need some thud and tackle time in the PS. I think Hurts probably needs a bit of live time where he can be hit to speed up the time until throwing the ball or he will revert to one read and go in games that matter.

best movies, A Christmas story, all the star wars movies, and castaway, for some reason I watch it almost every time its on

Any news on the Watkins injury?

So I still get Eastbay for some reason.  Please tell me Jalen Hurts isn’t talking 3rd person already.

Rio Lobo is in there as well, with the same basics.  A minute ago, I thought El Dorado was the best, then I started to lean Bravo... maybe now Lobo.  Tough to say.   Great supporting casts all the way around.  Lobo had the weakest cast, but any movie with Jack Elam gets a thumbs up from me.

I guess it comes down to my mood which I prefer.

Yeah. Same plot. Die Hard takes the terrorists i n the building, The Raid takes on the. Whole building.

Both are as good as it gets.
I favor The Raid because here’s an action movie in Indonesian, directed by a Scotsman, that blew me away.

Love ‘em both. Tied for the top.

I'm a sucker for specific actors.  Alan Rickman was one of the greats.
