So rather than another round of troll versus insults, maybe we could discuss the use of the Practice Squad this year and who, if any, of the great performers from last week might fill it out.  Like AFan, I suspect, no make that hope because Howie always knows better,  that we will see some churning of the roster and Practice Squad. Now, with the Covid rules, I have to believe that when they contact an agent after a waiver claim (roster), or for a tryout (roster or Practice Squad), the first question has to be "is he vaccinated " because that impacts a waiting period.    The NFL is keeping the same rules as 2020 (and should make them permanent).  With a 16 person squad, will teams not poach Practice Squads again this year?  I hope not.

The NFL has opted to keep the 2020 practice squad rules in effect once again. So, once again there will be 16 players allowed on practice squads with the following players being eligible for the units:

  • Players who do not have an accrued season of NFL experience (rookies)
  • Players who were on the active list for fewer than nine regular-season games during their only accrued season(s)
  • Up to four players per team who have earned no more than two accrued seasons (no game limitations)
  • Up to six players per team with no limitations as to their number of earned accrued seasons

Additionally, teams are allowed to promote two players from their practice squad to create a 55-man roster on game days. These call-ups can occur as late as 90 minutes before the game — when the official inactives list is posted. After the game, the player reverts back to the practice squad.

Practice squad players cannot sign a contract with another team's practice squad. If they sign elsewhere, they must receive a promotion to the 53-man roster of the team that signed them.

Practice squad players are free to sign with another team's 53-man roster at any time with one exception; teams are allowed to protect up to four players per week on their practice. Protected players cannot sign elsewhere.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Derek Barnett’s minor shoulder injury sure has kept him out for some time. This is his problem.  He gets these lingering injuries that cause you to almost forget about him.  It’s time to move on from him.

Is Davion Taylor alive?

Genard Avery is also missing valuable time. Same with K’vonn Wallace.

The thing is all of these guys can be upgraded from but their spots are 99% safe. Bring in players who can stay healthy and perform at high levels.

He is only under contract this season and next.  They can pick up a 5th year option but then that would cost around $10M and in no ways is Dillard worth spending that type of money on.

We have no reason to believe that Dillard would play well if he filled in.  He was really bad as a rookie.  He looked bad in camp last year before his injury.  Reports all summer long this year are that Dillard has looked worse than he has at any point in his career. I've seen articles listing him as the worst player in Eagles camp.

He's running so fast that no one can see him anymore.

Unfortunately sounds like they are done making movies together going forward and it will only being the one brother making movies in the future.

I mean maybe.  I haven't seen anything other than Ethan was taking a break.  I would imagine they will probably not be as prolific but will still be producing films.  I mean it's not like he's retiring.  He wrote a play and is focusing on theater.

Barnett was one I've my favorite players coming out that year. He's been disappointing to say the least. I think his time is coming to an end with Sweat getting better and Williams playing DE has seem to work out

This recent interview makes it sound like they are done working together and the other just doesn't want to do movies anymore.

I'd say keep him on the 53 and see if you can get a better return then what's being thrown out there by the media

Idk he can only play LT. Usually the eagles want more versatility out of their backups. he can only play LT and he is doing it at a level i say clark can do and can play multiple position. you are willing to just keep him when he got hurt last year and already in camp, looking like a bust, can only play LT and is making 3.37 against the cap whereas you can trade him and clear 1.62 and get a some value. I don’t think his value is going to get better by sitting on the bench as a backup unless mailata gets hurt and he plays well. Which at that point they wouldn’t deal him

Looks like we solved that problem.  Dude "punked" us all so bad, and then took his ball and went home.

RTK is happy as ish again today.  He should send Bacarty a card.

Oooooooor we have them sign combat waivers. Have a death match. Winner gets to stay on the board.

I feel this way about ……..Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction is one of those movies that I liked less watching it again.  There are certain scenes that are worth watching. I mean Travolta and Jackson were great in the film.  The movie as a whole just appeals to me less now over time.

Wallace needs to earn a spot.  Same for Avery.  Barnett has earned his spot.   I do worry about what makes his shoulder sore.  A minor tear in the shoulder?  My son played with a kid in high school that did a reach tackle, just like Reagor did last year. Partial dislocation. Popped it back in and rested a week.  First tackle his next practice, it popped out again. A minor tear (sprain) worked its way toward surgery. Rotator cuff is possibly the most difficult tendon surgery and can never work right again. Better to rest Barnett.
I wonder what Taylor’s injury is.  Hopefully not a high ankle sprain. A calf muscle tear is tough but unless the swelling hasn’t gone down, you would think he was getting surgery but that wouldn’t be week to week.  Strange.

No, and to be honest with you, I'm vaxxed and have been for awhile.

My problem is, especially with this country recently, is telling other people what to do with thier bodies when it's convenient.

At the end of the day, this country needs to realize the REAL* death toll of this disease and respond appropriately.

Fat, Out of shape, Diabetic, EXTREMELY OLD, Cancer Patients, ETC are the issue here.

How about we start telling fatty to eat better and work out?

How about we start telling smokers(which is a huge push towards covid deaths) to stop smoking and be more healthy.

NAHHH lets just **** everyone with a vaxx

I know an attorney that is in his early sixties and an avid runner and otherwise healthy that had breakthrough Covid causing him to be intubated.  The problem is that it's a highly contagious disease that will continue to mutate over time and ultimately how it impacts someone is unpredictable even if they are healthy.  I agree people should also be more focused on overall healthy but I think most companies that offer health insurance do also try to offer incentives for healthy BMI and exercising.  The problem is that people are prone to unhealthy compulsive behaviors because it triggers dopamine responses in the brain.  So people are fighting biological impulses to eat unhealthy foods.

I remember Mattwill would regularly engage trolls (he was always nice to them) anybody heard from him lately?

His rookie deal should be attractive to some teams.  Put him in to get some game tapes and hope some teams with needs for an OT to trade for him.

BTW @Veejer you would be proud, my ignore list is over 2 pages

Been a while. I did help Matt get signed up for the new board but the last time he dropped in was one of those arguments like a few are trying to have in here today and Matt dropped out again.  I haven’t PMed him in a while.
