I had to circle back to this one.  This is so false it is hilarious.  Here are all the players who missed games due to Covid last season, before vaccine's were released.

https://dknation.draftkings.com/nfl/2020/7/27/21340238/nfl-players-covid-19-positive-tests-2020-training-camp-regular-season-full-list

I would post the list, but it is so long, it would quadruple the length of the page.

I stopped counting when I got to the Dolphins, but that is 250 players.  That was about half way down the page, so more than 400 players missed time due to Covid last year, all non vaccinated.

Show me the list of 400 plus vaccinated players who have missed time.

Here is just the Ravens.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

What do you suppose Lurie’s reaction was to Howie getting the most votes as  the least honest GM by the agents but no votes as to talent evaluation and no votes as best GM coupled with no votes for potential GM candidates being Eagles.  That coupled with worst roster and the injury problems should make him really evaluate Howie.  If I saw those results from one of our managers I would make damn sure I was evaluating that person correctly.  If we use Jack Welch’s formula of 1-5 performance with 1s immediately canned and two types of 2s.  Those 2s new to,the position and growing into it with the potential to rise (Sirianni and Gannon, for example) and 2s with a downward trend.  Now, Lurie as CEO takes some of the blame for directing the keeping together of the Super Bowl roster as long as possible, but Howie is past that.  I have to believe that the agent survey is another confirmation of Howie being a 2 needing to be managed out.  Hopefully Lurie has his eyes open.

Lurie has his eyes wide shut when it comes to Howie...

Would anyone with a medical background explain to me why removing the spleen is a treatment for a blood disorder...   Also, why I've heard about people having their spleen removed in a way to help promote clotting.  But, in this case, the extra clotting is a bad thing.

Seems a connection between the lack of spleen and the clotting.  But, I can't figure out what it is.

If hurts doesn't play any against the jets he'll have what 2 series of pre season action???

That seems a little light...

And about fewer than 10 passing attempts for a guy who needs to work on his passing acumen.

I, for one, applaud Bacarty’s irrational confidence in and abundance of amazingly stupid takes.

The other one I had to circle back to, Turkey Hill post of the day.

When Vinny was re signed last year I wasn't a fan, I thought he was way past his ori.e and it's not like his prime he was anything other than a back up , I was pleasantly surprised with Vinny last year though, he was fairly productive in a limited role.

Good luck to him, hell always be an eagle super bowl champ!

Nah, he was a decent DE in his prime.  I mean, how many backup DEs hit 9 sacks in a season.  Granted, that season was an abberation compared to the rest, but it was a really good year for him, and he was also a very good run defending DE as well, versus a straight speed pass rush guy.

I think last season is going to have an impact on pre-season snaps going forward. Everyone went without it, and I’m sure they thought it was fine.

I'm all for dudes not getting injured and at the same time there needs to be a happy medium, about 10 pass attempts in pre season seems to be excessive In one direction.

We'll see what happens again st the jets, why has t Siriani said whose going to play or how much???

Yeah that season got him paid, not to mention he got those 9 sacks in a 34 often lining up at DT in passing situations

My bad, missed the if.

Die Hard is ranked top 10 on multiple Christmas movie lists.  Gremlins is top 20 on those lists, also released during the summer.

Miracle on 34th street was released June 11th.

It happened on 5th avenue was released April 19th.

Does not have to be released during the holiday season to be a Christmas movie.

I think the second gremlins is better than the first.

Your spleen in general acts as a filter for your blood. Disorders that affect the shape/flexibility/function of the blood cells themselves can either  cause those cells to get "stuck" in your spleen causing it to back up, or cause your spleen to recognize these cells as abnormal and trigger breakdown of the cells. If too many cells get stuck in the spleen it can cause a splenic crisis, making the spleen large fragile and painful. Meanwhile if too many blood cells are broken down you can become anemic or get a buildup of hemoglobin breakdown product (bilirubin).

So by removing the spleen you prevent that sequestration/breakdown. Sickle cell and Hereditary Spherocytosis are 2 examples where splenectomy is common. SS would have been picked up earlier so that's why I'm guessing HE. But I'm sure there are other possibilities

Want the guy to lose his livelihood to get something that doesn't work.

Yeesh.

The best part, the overwhelmingly majority of NFL'ers who've missed time because of covid were vaccinated lol .

If the majority of people in a group are vaccinated, then the majority of cases will be breakthrough cases. If the majority of players weren't vaccinated it would be presenting in a very different way. Learn how statistics work before you spread the BS that is resulting in many deaths across the country. The vaccines work AND prevent significant symptoms for the most part.

I still can't believe we are going into the season with Zach Ertz on the roster. Also, it's funny how they haven't made him available to speak to the media once, but he is a starting player and prominent Eagle on the team.

I didn’t know he hasn’t been available to the media. That does seem strange

Wonder if Howie told him to pound sand and finish out his contract

We’ll see if Ertz takes another year off

Lurie thinks he’s been doing an excellent job lol it’s pretty amazing the job security that Howie has. He also surrounded himself with a bunch of executives this off-season to just pick a scapegoat for when/if things go bad

I've never seen Die Hard and you guys are making me glad I've never seen it

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and Scrooged are the only two Christmas movies I make a point of looking for each year.  If I want to see a classic it will be Miracle on 34th Street or A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim version)

Miracle on 134th Street is okay, too

Alistair Sim version?  Wow.   You are old!  That's my dad's version.   I am partial to George C. Scott, but I like almost all of them.  It is just such a great story... hard to screw it up.

True story...

A few years ago my company put a poll on their intranet home page, Best Christmas Movie?  It had the usual suspects, A Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, etc.  It also had a place for a write-in under Other.  I called my buddy in Operations, who agreed that Die Hard is the best.  He was able to rally the entire back office, including the call center reps to write in Die Hard.  Won the poll going away.

At least the team is relatively healthy at this point in the season. Minor dings here and there but nothing too serious.

Hard to get seriously hurt when you are playing flag football in practice and decide to punt on the preseason games.  And IMO, hard to get prepared for the regular season as well.   There needs to be a middle ground.  They've let the pendulum swing WAY too far to the side of fear.

I believe you just mentioned It’s a Wonderful Life.  How is that a Christmas movie? Because they have a Christmas tree?  So does Die Hard.

Just a point of clarification.  Does Miracle on 34th Street really have Santa?  Kris Kringle never claims that.

Huh?

When everyone is going without it, everyone is on even footing.  When some are going without it, while others aren't, I think it's fair to say that it is a concern that the teams that decided not to engage in preseason will be at a disadvantage.

If DeVonta Smith doesnt get 130 targets this year, Sirianni should be fired

I have never seen Elf

it seems horrible
