That Watson report is weird. Always thought it was unlikely any team traded for him with all the legal stuff hanging over, especially now right before the season starts. And insiders have said the Texans really don’t want to send him to the AFC. But if Carolina, why even trade for Darnold? They essentially would have just blown picks for him.

This feels like a leaked report to get a team to up the ante when all teams have been balking at their asking price because of the legal stuff.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

The newest Rumor is just the Texans pushing other teams like the Eagles to call and up their offers.

Yeah and Howie will bite if that report of him trading everything he has for Watson is true. Getting Watson for 2 1sts, a 2nd, and Hurts is likely a bargain in Howies eyes.

Eagles not being discussed in latest Watson rumors is suspicious. Makes me feel like they are the ones who end up with him. Something is brewing.

Especially since Hurts hasn’t been named starter yet.

Idk i think Miami makes a lot of sense in all of those. i don’t believe they are as sold on Tua. There were a ton of rumors all offseason with the Dolphins questioning tua and he could be used as trade chip with Houston. And if you look at the dolphins last year, insert watson instead of tua and Fitzpatrick could make the the case they are top 4 team in the afc and likely won more than the 10 games they won. I don’t think off the field it’s ideal for watson given the current situation. Miami is like the furtherest place he realistically should be.

the panthers in this make less sense as by most reporters they’ve been pretty happy with Sam darnold for most of the offseason and training camp. Then factoring in they gave up some solid draft capital to get him. I see that as a less realistic possibility unless the Texans just love Sam darnold’s potential upside. But man imagine going from the Jets to then the texans. What a nightmare for darnold

I think Howie prob low balled them big time with a conditional 3rd, Ertz, Dillard and Hurts.

Watson to the Dolphins is not ideal...that pick will take a big hit.

Very unlikely that Watson plays the whole season without suspension.  If Tua is part of that trade then it helps the Eagles.

Agreed... and I am taking it in a different direction.  The real answer about comparing those 3 is like comparing a penny, a nickel and a dime when you need a dollar.  Sure, a dime is closer to a dollar, but in the end, it won't get the job done either.   This team needs to churn that bottom end of the WR depth chart.  The new PS rules allows any or all of them to be stashed there.  16 spots, 6 spots for veterans regardless of the years accrued.  4 slots for players with 2 years or less.

I may be the biggest fan of Ward in here but have consistently said he is a complimentary piece and if you find a receiver that runs routes and catches like he has been doing and has better speed and quickness, by all means bring him in.  I never begrudge an upgrade. But you don’t need a dollar for your #4 WR.

Glad we're not trading for him at this moment in time.

Hopefully this means that Watson has not lifted his no trade clause for the Eagles.

If you can get Watson for less than market value, and roll this year with Minshew as the starter, that’s a huge win for the Eagles

Not if he is put on suspension.

Watson is a low character person that you should not be tying one of the largest contracts in the league to.  Also there is nothing to suggest that it will be less than market value until he is actually traded for less than market value.

Watson is a stud. Would love to get him provided he’s not as guilty as it appears.

The portion of the contract that the Eagles will be responsible for is actually going to end up being pretty low after the rest of the current quarterbacks get their extensions.

There is probably quite a few players that are doing stuff that we think is morally reprehensible, I mean Fletcher Cox was banging some dudes wife

No argument here. Only point I was trying to make is Watson is really good at football.

Not really.   Josh Allen is the best of the QBs up for new deals and his new deal only comes out to $4M more per year.  It isn't a good deal with Watson.  He is a terrible low character individual.  He does not raise the level of play for a team.  And he has had 2 ACL injuries already.  If Karma exists there will be another one.

Cox is a pimp. Im friends with someone who dated him. Flat out told her He never plans on getting married. Pretty much uses his buddies to meet girls and only dates to get into the pants. After a few weeks its onto the next. Living the dream til he gets genital warts, lol

I also can’t even imagine what Minshew does to all the milfs in Jacksonville and now Philly. He’s going to be the next Pat Burrell.

Would help the eagles if that happened. However the Dolphins also have jacoby brisset as their backup QB. Tua really didn’t look great out there last year. Maybe tua lives up to his draft hype and improved a ton his second year and another year removed from his surgery but with what we saw the year brissett started in 2019 and what we saw with Tua in 2020 Brissett might be at least equal at QB at this particular moment in time

Here are the cap hits for the team that requires him

Watson would force a trade 2 years after being in Philly and working with Howie

Goff set the mark.  We will take Watson and two firsts plus a couple of seconds for Flacco to take on Watson’s contract. The added cost is because Flacco’s contract is way less than Stafford’s and Flacco has actually been to the playoffs and won a Super Bowl.

My all time favorite Phillie!

Feels like Watson and Robert Kraft would be a good fit

Your comparing completely different situations. Rams needed the cap space and needed the Lions to take Goff to afford Stafford. Lions really didnt want Goff. Texans are currently under the cap by 24+ mill. A Watson trade would be nothing like the Rams and Goff situation. Its like comparing Apples to a Cheesesteak
