Imagine reading this if you're Tua

Good. I hope they get the deal done and we can stop talking about Watson. No interest in a sex freak, overrated stats QB. I'd rather have Rodgers. I'd probably rather have 3 first round picks than Rodgers.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Wonder if the drop out team is the Eagles.  That’s a little rich for a player that doesn’t want to be there and a team that acts like they don’t want him there. That’s also the price we have been hearing all along.

He also doesn't want to be here...

It’s not exactly breaking news, it’s been out there for awhile they wanted at least 3 1sts and some other combo of a second or player.

Whats this "We'll" crap? ...........Hes a Steelers fan.

Maybe the board is glitchy and your quoted post is wonky, but AF is not a Steelers fan.

That’s a hilarious ask.

Miami makes the most sense of these teams because Florida has no state income tax. It would just be a sound financial decision.

I also think the Dolphins compared to the other 3 rumored teams are best suited to be contenders. Carolina and Denver have good rosters with their own flaws if they added deshaun but i think Miami is better than both of them. Better defense then both, good skill position players, 3 rookie olineman last year could see major improvement in the second year to help solidify the oline

the only thing against watson going to Miami is the Miami lifestyle and what he has going on off the field

I assume someone from the FO had to have had a little talk with Minshew about being OK as the backup for the next 2 years and not causing a problem.  He might be a lovable goofball, but you've got to make sure with those fiery guys that it won't be an issue.

Hurts isn't a baby, he's used to fighting for his job. He's not going to pout b/c Minshew is a credible threat or Flacco won a SB.

He's going to do his best by quenching any controversy on the field, and if he fails, he'll accept the coach's decision with grace and prepared to come off the bench.

A bit different from some other starting QBs in Philly.

Pure speculation.

My guess is he was told that he’ll eventually have the opportunity to compete for the starting job. Yes, it’s Hurts’ job to lose but if we’re being real… there’s not a great chance he’ll play to the level where another guy isn’t worth a look.

I’ll be shocked if by mid-late November (when the Eagles are 3-7) they don’t trot Minshew out there for a start just to see what he does.

It makes sense for Dickerson. It only makes sense for McLeod if his timeline puts him past 6/7 weeks. Otherwise your just giving up on one of your starters for almost half the season.

It really depends on how close McLeod is.  That is why I lead off with that.  But he was injured late and is an older player with two significant injuries.  As I suggested, we (the fans) really don’t know.  I believe when McLeod came back from his first injury that he really wasn’t playing that well until the second part of the season. If they expect the same, might as well PUP.  If they did move him to active, then they could go light at S.  Say Harris, Epps, Wallace and McLeod, for example.  Bring Riley or whoever up the first two weeks. No need to carry five Ss. Of course, that might be dependent on Wallace’s health.

Just as long as he doesn’t play more than 50 percent of the snaps in three games. Howie can’t have that.

So the only inter-franchise variability and therefore financial incentive to be competitive is home ticket sales/concessions and local sponsorships.

I can't imagine there is THAT much variation in stadium revenue.  Attendance range of 45,000-70,000 with average ticket prices $110-$150 for 8-10 home games per year.  That isn't that many millions in difference.  Add in concessions of course.  Then multiply that difference by 60% since the rest is shared.

So that really leaves the difference between the Cowboys and the Jaguars as corporate sponsorships, I would assume.

Jerry owns the stadium in a major city.

Can’t believe it took this long to get a Minshew/Eagles photoshop as QB1

I kind of feel like the rumors coming out today are coming from the Texans organization. I have no clue where Watson is going to go but it feels like the Texans leaking stuff out there. The question is why besides cutdown day is coming up. Kind of feels like maybe they realize if they wait and his legal issues go poorly for him they’ll definitely get nothing. Whereas now even with pick protections they still potential could get value if things go in his favor and if it goes poorly they weren’t going to get anything anyway.

i still don’t see him getting dealt for what the rumored 3 firsts and 2 2nds unless there’s a boat load of protections

I think you're overlooking the fact that the money from luxury boxes is not shared. That's where teams like the Cowboys can make some real profit.

I think it’s back and forth. Houston leaked it out it’s between Dolphins/Panthers and Panthers leaked out that ridiculous asking price. Or Robinson is regurgitating old news about the asking price.

Let's get Minshew number 11.

Tricky part is that Miami already traded their first in 2022 to the Eagles, so they are likely trying to get Houston to take Tua as part of the deal instead.

They gotta do what they gotta do.  Backup Qbs are more valuable than starters, everybody knows that.
