Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

He'll conveniently ignore it.

IMO the next trade that goes down has to include a punter added to picks or player , siposs sucks

I still havent even seen any posts about how the Minshew trade destroys 2022 cap yet. So you know it must be a good one.

I'm sure this can easily be checked but a caller called into one of the sports talk stations earlier this week and pointed out through the first 2 games the Falcons haven't played any of their starters.  Not sure what they did in the 3rd but I'm guessing didn't play any of them.  If that is the case the Falcons will head into the season just as unprepared as the Eagles.

How many starts does Matt Ryan have in his career.  I’d be willing to bet it’s more than 4.

Id also argue the Falcons defense wasn’t good yet they gave up less ppg then the eagles. Flacons ranked 19th and eagles 20th. And the eagles got the luxury of facing Washington, Dallas (without dak twice) and the giants 6 times

Never once called them liars, but there is questions.  And if you think the FBI wouldn’t being looking at the entire situation as part of the investigation, you are being intellectually dishonest.  Notice it says the FBI spoke with SEVERAL plaintiffs.

You keep spreading false news to try to discredit all the accusers.  For months you kept talking about how the accusers can't be trusted because they all booked more than one appointment with Watson, when only 2 of what was just 22 accusers at the time ever booked a follow up appointment with Watson.  Because only 2 did you would talk of all the accusers as a whole when you brought up that follow up appointments were booked as if it applied to all of them and this was purely done by you to try to discredit them all because you like how Watson plays football and want him to play on the Eagles.

And now you CONTINUE to do it again!  Even doubling down in this post. The FBI is investigating Watson and his allegations.  He is being looked at by the FBI.  The FBI is also looking into one of the accusers for possible extortion.  But you are presenting this completely false slant that  Watson isn't being looked at for the accusations and the FBI is looking at multiple women for extortion when reports clearly state that the FBI spoke to several women about the accusations on Watson and they are only looking at one of the 23 for extortion.  And now anytime you talk about this you always state accusers plural instead of the one singular accuser that is being looked at by the FBI, but you always want to paint the entire collection of accusers as liars anytime you can over things that apply to only 2 women relating to follow up appointments and one woman relating to potential extortion.

And they got a major upgrade with Dean Pees

My concern with the Minshew trade. How will he take being a number 3? He wanted to be on a team he could compete to be the starter a few months back before the draft when the rumors came out the Jags were looking to move him.

"According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Jaguars are asking for a fifth-or-sixth-round selection for the former Washington State star. Fowler also notes that Gardner Minshew would like an opportunity to earn a starting job."

I smell drama

Well if Hurts doesn't deliver then Minshew will get his opportunity.

If Hurts isn't the real deal, and the Eagles can't get Watson and Fields turns out to be legit, passing on him is going to be a really bad look. These developments with Watson if they're accurate, make the Fields decision loom much larger. That'll be this decade's new draft regret fans always reference once a week.

I'm completely puzzled why some have a problem with this trade...  assets are assets...  especially when they come cheap, and actually serve to address needs...

I'm not against it but I was hoping we'd just keep 2 QBs instead of 3 this time

Not if Smith has a good career. I would have liked the Fields pick but taking a potential stud like Smith was not a bad decision.

Well,  the bottom of the roster is not better than is Minshew.

If Fields is elite elite, like a top 5-7 franchise QB, then even if Smith is a perennial pro bowler, it would have been a mistake. And that's no knock against Smith, but QBs are everything.

Fields will have to be truly special to reach that status and he may not, just saying it's something to keep an eye on, especially if the Eagles decide they want to draft a QB in 2022, when they had one sitting in their laps this year and passed.

Okay???  Since when is the NFL only come down to who has the better QB?  Falcons were 4-12 last season with Matt Ryan playing all 16 games.  He obviously wasn't the worse QB in all 12 of those losses.  The Falcons defense is trash.  Julio is gone.  As good as Pitts might end up being he is still just a rookie.

Plus it's not like we have a history of Matt Ryan lighting up the Eagles defense.

Here are the points that Matt Ryan's and his Falcons offense has put on us over the years:

08: 14
09: 7
10: 17
11: 35
12: 30
15: 26
16: 15
17: 10
18: 12
19: 24

That's an average of 19 points.  In the past 5 years since 2016 they have only averaged 15 points a game against us.

Meh. Howie kicked the tires on Wilson, but no other QB, they didn't like Fields more than Hurts.

They could be wrong, but most 1st rd QBs flop, so you should never pursue one you're unsure about.

Trade flaccozzzzz

Maybe the asking price earlier was more???

Say they were asking for a 5th that could be a 4th under the same conditions around that time?  Would you do that trade and save the money spent on Flacco plus the rollover of his contract in to 2022?

I would.  That's my biggest gripe.  Sure, he'll be hear next year when Flacco is gone...but they're still going to be paying Flacco next year too.

He didn't overset. That's just schuy7 throwing crap against the wall. He anchored. And yes, he and Toth did some nice work together.  Dillard did a number of traps and/or powers with Toth, including Gainwell's TD run. I loved, I mean loved watching Dillard and Driscoll pulling.

This OL has a chance to be special. And deep.

Care to go into more depth about Toth?

I don’t know I have to look at the numbers… 😂

The conditions of the Minshew trade say a lot about his role and even what the rest of the league weren't offering for him. He can provide a spark and a cheap backup for 2 years.  Would you rather him or Mullens?
