How am I reaching though?  I'm reaching to say that Matt Ryan in 2021 without Julio isn't' some insurmountable force especially with the recent history and how bad his current team is?

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

He is worth more to us than that...

The Eagles gambled a 2nd for him, the gamble succeeded and you would consider trading that success for a bit of a better pick to gamble again?

Probably but a RB with only 2 years left on his contract for a 2 and 4, yeah I’d consider it.

What do you think he’s worth next offseason? Is he going to to get an extension at any point? Will we be contenders in either of the next two seasons?

That is why this season needs to play out and answer your questions. I believe trading him now would be premature.

I don't see why the Eagles can't be contenders in the next 2 seasons, the Eagles' Superbowl season proved how quickly things can turn around.

We are going to get the QB equivalent of if Jalen Hurts and Carson Wentz had a baby. And there’s a specific prospect I’m referring to. Book it.

I think I’d prefer Hurts to the guy you are referring to.

Did I really read one poster said he would trade Sanders to the Ravens is they gave a 1st or multiple 2nds?  And Boston Scott for a 4th? Where do these people come up with these values, lol.

I mentioned the 4th for Scott...just throwing it out there.  Considering Sony Michel went for a 5th and 6th I believe, Scott probably wouldn't bring back a 7th.

Smh when Brady is playing in the preseason and hurts isn’t…

Your buddy must have some patience. Ever since QB1 on Netflix, Rattler has done nothing but come off like a complete d-bag.  Dude needs to grow up but he's the poster boy of this new generation of football players.  Starred on Netflix, has his NIL now.  I don't want anything to do with him.

Its a new time, new breed.   My buddy is a great guy though, no doubt.   Never heard him complain, and that includes the last time we got together and he recounted his adventures of the last year... he didn't get Covid, instead he got a rare "Valley Fever" fungus... which forms nodules in the lungs.  As a result he had to have half of his right lung removed to get rid of the fungus, but to hear him, he doesn't blame the construction company that's ultimately to blame for it.  It's just a fact of his life and something that he has to deal with.  No enmity at all.   He told me about Rattler.  Says he was always a nice kid and very respectable.  He even made a video for him talking about their relationship (my buddy got him to sign about a dozen footballs last time they met up... just in case   and needed the video to prove authenticity. ). More than likely, if I know my friend, he'll just give the balls to friends of his, because that's the kind of guy he is.

The odds of him not being rusty are 10000x higher when he has 201 more NFL starts than Hurts.

Matt Ryan isn't the only player in the game.

That team had a core of players in their prime:  Cox, Kelce, Jenkins, Ertz, Johnson, Brooks, Graham, Bradham at his best, Hicks, and added just the right mix of veterans to fill the holes... Long, Robinson, Smith, Jeffery, etc.     This team doesn't have that... very few players that would be considered cornerstones.

Minshew is basically the ideal backup QB.  He's got that unique Koy Detmer personality that enjoys stepping into tough spots cold.  He can run around to make some improvised desperation plays...not what you look for from a starter, but the right kind of disruption you want from your backup who has to play unexpectedly.  And he's not afraid to sling it.  He's just not a precise high end passer.

A lot of that applies to Hurts too...

Hurts will probably have a pretty comparable 1.5-2 year go of it as a starter, actually.  He'll make some plays, generate some hype, get players to rally around him, and then will fade when his passing ability is maxed out and the offense is looking for a steadier and more prolific passer.

Remember The Stache?  A new EMB era?

I'm not against it but I was hoping we'd just keep 2 QBs instead of 3 this time

With covid protocols, it probably isn't wise to try to get by with just 2 QBs. We thought we were smart last year with the McCown practice squad deal only to have him get poached midseason. Even then, we had 3 QBs on the 53.

Well when Brady accomplishes what Hurts has in joint practices, maybe he’ll earn the right to rest through preseason too.

I don't expect us competing so once we get to the backup I think it's done

Our starters are above preseason games.  Josh Allen playing today and throwing dimes.

This team is not on that team’s level. Not close.

And the 2016 team should have been a playoff. They looked like the best team in the league the first 3 weeks and also beat the Falcons that year when they had a historic season. Kicked the crap out of the Steelers as well who eventually made it to the AFC title game. Unfortunately the Lane suspension, a rookie HC and QB, and zero weapons on offense were too much to overcome.

Does your buddy live in or visit AZ?  Most Valley Fever cases come from there.  Fungus that lives in the soil in the desert southwest gives off a spore that infects the lungs.  Most people aren’t bothered and some get flu like symptoms but for some it can be life threatening. (At one point, decades ago, my corporation decided I should be the expert on illnesses brought on by natural things but could have intervening causes from actions of our customers - Legionaires disease, Pontiac Fever, blood borne pathogens, histoplasmosis, hanta viruses, molds, Valley Fever and the like.  Gave me international connections and let me travel even more. Had a case allegedly caused by grading of soil that allegedly resulted in an injury similar to your friend.  Virtually impossible to prove where a spore came from.  Science matters but not always to a jury). Very rare to suffer to the level your friend did. (The loss control risk engineer I worked closely with retired before me.  We are still in touch and discuss these things.  Imagine our discussion of infectious airborne diseases in a circulating HVAC environment this past year. We went depth and anyone listening in went into a coma from boredom.).

Correct.  He's from Pinnacle HS in AZ.  He was in Washington D.C. as an Einstein Fellow.  He was in DC at the time he really showed symptoms, and the doctors there had no idea what to do, so they sent him back to AZ for treatment.

He was exposed back in 2016, but it hit just this past spring.  The construction company was supposed to spray down their area, and they didn't properly.  The result was everyone was exposed... and I mean just about everyone.  As a football coach, he spent a great deal of time outside while they were working.

It shouldn't be hard to improve on last year. I always feel like people overrate most of the NFL when they worry about their own team. Most games come down to a couple critical plays. We didn't win the Super Bowl in 2017 because we were so much better than everybody. We won because things went our way in critical games.

The focus has to always be to win the upcoming game. You won't successfully build a team if players around the league don't think you take winning seriously.

I think we're a long way from competing for the division

Rookies 3rd sack in preseason , could be a steal at 32
