Until this is verified by a real NFL reporter, its still just a rumor still. Seen it too many times. Hopefully its true and they over paid.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

No, Charles said the Dolphins are the frontrunner, not that a trade is done.

This team is not on that team’s level. Not close.

And the 2016 team should have been a playoff. They looked like the best team in the league the first 3 weeks and also beat the Falcons that year when they had a historic season. Kicked the crap out of the Steelers as well who eventually made it to the AFC title game. Unfortunately the Lane suspension, a rookie HC and QB, and zero weapons on offense were too much to overcome.

So you think for the 2023/24 season the Eagles have little to no chance of competing? By that time many of the young players now will be considered vets and in their prime, i.e. Sanders, Ragnor, Sweat, Mailata, Edwards, Singleton. For instance they may be that bedrock.

Like Joe Banner mentioned, it would be weird if the Dolphins really are willing to send like 3 1s to Houston AFTER trading up a 1 to from 12 to 6 to get Waddle. Seems like weird resource management.

Have to find the beat writer for the Dolphins who said he had strong impression the Dolphins still really like tua and he was having a better camp than tannehill had entering his fourth year (right before they gave him the extension)

Sanders may not be... the shelf-life for RBs are very short.   Which other young players are you considering that might form the core of a contending team in 2023/2024?  I see a fairly empty cupboard and a group of rookies that we are hopeful for, without any real information yet to suggest that they will be that level of player in the NFL.

Mailata has a shot to be that caliber. It might be a stretch to say Goedert at this point.  Hurts hasn't proven anything as of yet.  Sanders might have peaked and be on the downside by then, if he's even given a second contract at all.  There are far more questions than building blocks for the future at this point.  There's a reason this team earned a top 6 pick last year, and frankly, could have ended up top 3, if not for the tie.

I added to the previous post that Ragnor(Reagor), Sweat, Mailata, Edwards, Singleton and Goedert for instance could potentially become cornerstone players as they continue to progress. I mention these players for they have shown beyond what rookies have shown like Smith so far in the NFL.

Also to add the Eagles (God willing) have huge potential with next years draft to have a big impact on that team, along with Smith who looks promising (albeit hasn't proven much yet).

I get your point there are a lot of questions, particularly with coaching, but I don't think competing is out of the realm.

Edit: typo.

Dolphins are in the same QB position as us in that if a good offer was made they'd say screw Tua/Hurts and trade for Watson

I think Miami would do a deal but not at the price the Texans are asking for. Pft actually had a story also today saying the Dolphins balked at the price the Texans are asking for.

this really feels like the Texans are trying to get the market going by putting things out there to get his value built up.

Possible no clue about Dolphins beat guys. But ESP also had two stories come out today. When minshew was traded for he pieces together how it could be hurts going for watson and minshew to be the holder if/when watson suspended. Then an hour later saying they might not even be finalist.

This season shall tell us a lot about the future of this team. It is all up in the air at this point in time (as you mentioned) and can go either way. For there to be a chance I think players like Sanders need to be kept, otherwise we are giving in to full rebuild mode now.

I don't think it's really possible to try and bring up his price because of the situation

Sanders last season will be 2022 on his current contract. That’s my point. You really think the Eagles give him McCaffrey money?

And holy crap Edwards and Singleton don’t start on most teams.

I should rephrase get an actual market going. It’s been reported multiple times they hadn’t even talked trade compensation with teams or gotten very far in any discussion. Like when it was reported the eagles a couple weeks back there was also the report they really hadn’t gotten very far in any discussions and then there was the we are gonna try to convince him to come back. Meanwhile right before roster cuts all this come out, I’d willing to bet these leaks are come from the Texans trying to get a market going and some from watson trying to get himself out of Houston

If Sanders does not prove he can stay on the field in the next 2 seasons, I don;t resign him at all.

Yeah Ragnor will be in the HOF by then…

And if he does stay healthy and plays well then they’ll have to overspend to keep him.

What the Eagles did at RB in 2017 should be the goal every season. Cheap FA vet, rookie, another talented guy on a rookie contract.

I think he’s from one of the Viking shows on Netflix

Is that how you understood what was said?

Had I known I was making a list of future HOF players from the current lineup I would have included more with Reagor...

I'm a little worried Sanders will be our first mega RB contract

No, from the Vikings.
