Wow, the Colts beat writer really laid into him.  I thought Eason had a decent chance as a developmental QB.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

The Hurts fanclub on this board might be the most sensitive group I've ever seen.

You never saw the mcnabb or Vick clubs

Add another need on waivers. Now we need 1-2 CBs, a safety, maybe a WR depending on how things shake out, and a backup RT since Dillard surely can't step in.

Geez, Driscoll isn’t good enough as a back up RT?  You also have the possibility of Dillard starting at LT and Mailata jumping to RT.   And one of Toth or Clark are likely to make the team.  In a pinch, Seumalo can play OT. Possibly Dickerson too. And Awosika on the PS can play RT.  Think we don’t need a waiver pickup for that spot.

Excited for the inevitable "Carson Wentz is a bad teammate" articles coming from Colts writers this season.

To late they are already out

Yeah, I'd venture to say Driscoll is the back-up RT, and I don't think they're specifically looking to upgrade that spot (no more so than you're always looking to upgrade roster spots)...

I overlooked Driscoll. I'm thinking that Dillard gets shipped out and we need another T.

In terms of LB trades, TJ Edwards could well be the one being talked about.  He doesn't necessarily fit the 425 system, but will have value for other teams at ST and MLB.  And he's on a cheap contract too

So you didn’t read the article and the quotes from the Indianapolis Star columnist mentioned in the sub headline you are showing above? Clearly, that is what Tanenbaum is writing about and what I referenced.   Suggest you may want to see what the Indy reporter had to say.  He suggested he wanted Eason to get the job amongst other things.  My comment about Eason may have lead you further to see that I was referencing the Star reporter quoted in the article in addition to me specifically referencing the Indy reporter.

I think it's not so much a "fan club", as people realizing it's fairly important for him to succeed... so many are very hopeful that he does...

I hope the team stays healthy.  My only point about Herbig is that Dickerson and Seumalo have that same versatility.  If Dickerson is ready to play, I am not sure Herbig deserves a spot over Opeta.

Herbig has shown me a lot this pre-season. He's much more mobile and with that improved movement has come significantly better run blocking, both on the LOS and in sifting through to the second level. The two run plays I broke down both indicate his improved movement skills. I expect him to beat out Opeta.

That would be proof that if they had played 20 snaps in the pre-season they wouldn't be that way? So the only way football players can build up stamina is to play in preseason games.   Maybe Sirianni will give them pickle juice and everyone will be fine.

I don't at all think I'm only referring to preseason as I am continually referencing how they conduct some of the shortest practices in the league at 60-70 minutes.  That along with the lack of preseason action is going to have them gassed in the second half of that first game.

The system is so rigged against unvaccinated players that you might as well just require it.  Otherwise, guys are going to continue to be scapegoated and lose out on money simply for being "close contacts."

As usual, though, coastal elites/whites will continue to force their agenda on the rest of the country.

I think Dillard only gets moved if the Eagles get compensation that would surprise most of us on here, but I could be wrong.  We will see.  After last year and with Johnson, Brooks, Driscoll and to some degree Seumalo coming back from injuries last year, to which you can add Clark if he sticks, I am hesitant to see the Eagles trade away any major OL pieces.  Clark, on a one year rental and Opeta and Pryor for any value, yes.

Spot on.

If Dickerson is ready to play, he should start over Seumalo.  I've been saying this for a while now but I like Dickerson as LG1.  Mailata and Dickerson is one massive left side of the line.  Herbig can be your back up.

Seumalo is only signed through 2022.  With all this talk about Seumalo being the next center...have we ever seen him play the position?  Also, in watching all of the Mailata tape from last year, Seumalo sticks out like a sort thumb in many of them.   Dickerson SHOULD be the superior player.   If the Eagles can trade Seumalo, they should.

I would like the following as the starting 5 and the backups.   Seumalo and Dillard can bring back draft capital or player swap.

Mailata   Dickerson   Kelce   Brooks   Johnson

Toth  Opeta  Herbig  Driscoll

I don't think Dickerson is ready to play but I also think he's close to being able to practice.

Seumalo is waaaaay better than Opeta.

Has Clark done enough since he returned from injury to beat out guys like Toth, etc? Hope so, liked that signing.

Who would #5 be in that lineup? Maddox? A safety?

I’m really looking forward to the all out anchorman type of battle one day between the wentz washers, hurts huggers, minshew maniacs, folesian society, Flacco flockers, sudfeld studs and even bringing back the knobs for kolb, Sammy sleeves, the vicious vicks and worm burners

It would depend, but I would guess Maddox/Scott/McPhearson and perhaps a Marcus Epps depending on down/distance

I'm not against that. It's a perfectly fair and rational thought.

I'm talking about the people that are quick to yell "Hater! You want him to fail! You're making those stats up!" when you point something out (like his inability thus far to read the field or his poor completion percentage) that's a fair criticism.

I'm talking about when someone makes a list of all QB snaps in preseason and someone soaks their shirt with tears because we didn't talk about Jalen's sick tummy.

There is a group of posters here who defend this guy as if he's Tom Brady and won us 7 rings.

I've seen them. At least those two had actually proven something before people went overboard.

Not that I could see but in all fairness to Clark, he really only practiced with the OL about a week and was with the third string OL.  He didn’t look like his footwork was very good and he seemed to get his head to heavy.  Didn’t seem bad hands but didn’t see punch.  Most impressive of the third string OL to me was Pierschbacher.  I don’t get the Awosika love.  Potential yes, but a waiver wire casualty, not so much. I think he makes it to the PS.
