That’s what I was saying.  He shouldn’t be #2.  And then all the triggered fan boys had to get all worked up.  JFC.  People are so damn sensitive in here.

Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Yea, Fournette. So that makes Scott good somehow?

Clement was just a guy, but he made key plays in our biggest game ever. Torrey Smith was just a guy, but he made key plays to get us to that game. Vaitai was just a guy, but we needed him to step up in 2017 because of injury. Celek was just a guy. Agholor, Jerrnigan, Curry, Bradham, Kendricks, Mills, Burton, Darby, Barnett, Allen, Long, Foles, --- all just guys.

Together, they were one heck of a team.

I think you guys are confusing JAG to equate someone that doesn’t belong on a team. Every team has JAGs. JAGs have a place in the league. It’s just JAGs are guys you could usually upgrade if you want to send the resources.

Scott had a better YPA than all of them last year and a contract cheaper on a per year basis than any of them outside of I think maybe Pollard. No Scott isn't a stud but he is a more than adequate #2 at a position we absolutely should not be investing a ton of cap space. Between him, Sanders and Gainwell, we're fine there.

What’s the bet, BTW?   I emailed you.  How’s the kid?

Haven't had a chance to look sorry.  Kid is colicky as hell so I've limited my football research to drafting a crappy fantasy football team and now apparently googling Boston Scott stats.

He is the most sensitive poster here. If he isn’t right OMG. In his profile his interest is being right. He’s just a negative idiot. He is the guy that wants all the respect but in reality 4for4 is a JAG on a message board.

I didn't list guys that don't belong on a team. My point is that almost every team is made up mostly of JAGs. Acting like it's common to have 2 star HBs on one team is being out of touch with reality. My stance is this: I don't care who our backup RBs are if they produce when handed (or thrown) the ball. I'm not looking to buy a Scott jersey or anything. I had my doubts about him at first, but have grown to appreciate his HB contribution. I'd love for someone to outplay him, because that would probably be a pretty good player. I don't think Scott is a star in this league, but he's fine in his role. Ideally, you would like to have a big back spelling Sanders. Howard could be that guy this year. Gainwell could move ahead of Scott as well. But if we need Scott, he can handle the role.

He had 80 rushes all year. 5 per game on average. And had a 56 yard run that’s going skew his YPA on limited carries. I didn’t say we should be throwing money at the position especially as the roster stands today, but that doesn’t change the fact that Scott as a player is what he is. It’s not like I’m saying cut him, but he’s a JAG in my eyes. I don’t think it would be reasonably difficult to replace him with someone else that could provide close to the same production.

It’s a self deprecating joke you stalker.  Because I joke in here about always being the one to say ITYS.  JFC.  What kind of weirdo hates a guy so much they go check out their profile?     You’re an obsessive creeper.  I must have hurt your feelings.   It’s all good buddy.  It’s just a game.  Yeah.  I’m sooo sensitive.   I’ll get Boston Scott to sign a poster for you.  If you’d like.

Don’t be so sensitive man. Just relax.

I can’t relate to the colicky kid.  Sure your sleep schedule is a mess.  We’ll skip it

Yeah agree to disagree.  RB isn't a position where I think it is wise to invest a lot of cap space and on a per snap basis Scott is producing at least comparably to most of the guys LGM listed despite costing much much less in a lot of cases (looking at you Melvin Gordon).

Got the 10 PM to 4 AM shift and he likes to stay up late. It's not ideal

If every team is made up of mostly JAGs, and what you just described Scott as is a JAG, I don’t understand what the problem with calling him a JAG is.

I wonder if some teams are maximizing use of the Covid list right now.  Those players don’t count against the 53 so that delays some players being cut to get to 53 until the players come off the Covid list.  Yes, the Covid list players can’t practice and have to meet the testing protocols but seems like there is room for stretching the rule .

Have a bad feeling they keep JJAW and an even worse feeling they keep 7 WRs to do so

He’s fine for where this team is currently at. If we we’re close to contending for the SB or at least the NFC, I would want to improve on him whether it be a draft pick or throwing some more money at someone. That in my opinion makes him just a guy. I’m not saying let’s go get a Melvin Gordon right now, I was just listing off players that theoretically would be an upgrade since people are scoffing at the idea that a better backup is out there.

80 rush attempts isn't exactly dramatically lower than most backups (Pollard had 101, Fournette 97, Coleman well...).  And throwing money at the position is the alternative. Finding a guy like Scott who can produce as well as he can at the price he costs is fantastic.  RB is one of like 3 positions the Eagles are actually doing right.

Yea I don’t really get the point unless they think having a free player on the scout team is worth it

Scott also had more starts than all those guys. 51 of his carries came from 4 starts. In games he was a true #2 back he averaged 2.9 carries a game. Finding a guy to rush 3 times a game for like 14 yards isn’t hard.

This "old guy” is going to sleep.  Sorry I called Boston Scott a JAG - Fringe player.   I’ll do better next time.  Go Eagles. 17-0 this year.  They practiced hard.  Like Ben Simmons.  Practice makes perfect, that’s what I say.

Tomorrow I’ll promise not to talk about Kayvon Wallace.

Cute. Oddly enough this is your best post of the day. Congrats.

I know for a fact we are all JAGs on a message board. It’s pretty much the definition of a message board user.

So he doesn't have enough carries that we can use his season long YPA to compare him to those other guys, but now we're only going to look at games where he "was a true #2" because he had too many carries in those other games?

Finding a guy who who can rush 3 times a game for 14 yards isn't that hard sure.  Finding a guy who can do that AND fill in as a starter when needed competently is.  In those 4 games as a starter he had a YPA of 4.2+ which is right on par with Pollard, Hunt, Drake. All with a cap hit less than $1 million per year.
