Just some random comments for people who didn't watch the game and have no intention to do so. I find myself being more annoyed at the result of the game than I probably should. It's ridiculous t

Watching Collin Johnson highlights, and just as expected, he's better than JJAW.  We should claim him.

Likewise for Tyron Johnson.  Claim them both.  We have ties to both of them.

Seems like you have a thing for Johnsons.

You would have to hope so.   They need to churn it on the bottom, because this team stinks.   lol

And in a different direction... what is the real purpose in activating Landon Dickerson right before the end of TC, without a single practice under his belt and let him take a spot on the 53.  I get that they want him to start practicing, but we are talking about 6 weeks...  Leave him on PUP and poach another player, then figure it out in the next 6 weeks and activate him then.  If he doesn't suit up for a game before Week 6, then this would once again show that the team makes moves without looking at the full picture.  They should be taking a much longer view, especially with a guy like him who was drafted so high, with such an extensive injury history.  6 weeks of practice isn't going to change the world for him, but leaving him on PUP to start the year might have enabled an extra claim.  Just seems short-sighted.

I don't see why you wouldn't activate him if he's cleared to practice.  I'm not sure who they would poach that would be any kind of contributor.  They will be able to keep developmental players on the practice squad.

Keeping you guys updated on all things salary cap, the Eagles currently have $9,839,336 in 2022 cap space, with 35 players under contract.

We will fill it out mostly with draft picks and undrafted FA. I do believe Goedert gets an extension and either Barnett or Sweat do as well. My guess is Sweat

Add Mailata to that list.

If Maxey actually had a problem with it, he could just fire his agent, no?

Yes. Him as well. I think they get a deal done with him first

If we use all 3 first round picks, that will be approximately 11 million in cap space, based on having picks 5, 15 and 25.  That is already more than the cap space we have.  There is going to be some veterans gone next year, and we have to pay for their replacements.  The only player that is worth cutting next year is Cox.  No one else has cap savings that make it worth it.

What's the cap saving if we move Ertz and the deadline?

4.9 this year and 2 next year.  We also would have 20 million to roll over, but I assume some of that would be used for roster moves this year, IR, and maybe they front load a Mailata extension.  Basically, any extensions will be from the leftover money that they roll over next year.

Just checked out Collin Johnson, wasn't familiar with him, looks better than JJAW to me

Dude is a big target at 6'6"

Reminds me of marquez Colston a little, Minshew should be able to tell the eagles a little about him as well .

Wouldn't mind claiming him, one thing JJaW had for him is an ability to play special teams,

Not sure if Collin Johnson does, seems like a stupid reason to keep JJAW but a 5th WR needs to be able to play some special teams, which is why hightower in my opinion didn't make the roster as he was in zero special team units.

New leader in the clubhouse for WR waiver claim

So probably not much left over if they extend Mailata, Goedert, and Sweat. So more restructuring and kicking the can in the future

I dont know Tyron Johnson from chargers also got cut, dude was pretty good last year as a rookie deep threat.

Looks like they'll be a few WRs the eagles will have a chance to claim.

I imagine every WR cut today can't be worse than JjAW

I was hoping Juwan would get released too

  Yes the incredibly shrinking Embid.

We were talking about Dickerson. Dickerson is being used initially as a C.  B55 pondered about a C that tall, and I agreed that was a good point.  Maybe not spoken but understood was a tall C has to be concerned with bend and with DTs getting under their pads and putting them on roller skates.  Now I have you visioning Embid in Xanadu.

Lol! I was actually thinking that when they drafted him and they said he was possibly going to be Kelces replacement. I was like at 6'6"? I thought it wasn't ideal for a center to be that tall but what do I know I'm analyzing from my couch lol

Coutee will be snatched up quickly , not sure what the Texans are thinking

Are the Jets a possible destination for Ertz?  They traded Herndon and cut Kenny Yeboah, who looked impressive.

What's one of the best things for a young QB?  Reliable, veteran TE....perhaps they can actually send Goedert their way.  Wasn't he a Joe Douglas pick?

The most common saying in sports for the last 10 years

Is he a veteran cut or does he fall in line of the waiver wire?

Best thing about this years claims is the Eagles still sit at 6 in line.
