Come on now bud. You’re the one who told me I was making too much out of Carson’s injuries. It would be our luck he would go down in the middle of game three though.

I’d consider the Raiders, Jags, and Texans all very winnable games. Regardless we come to the same conclusion that the 1st is virtually a lock and people can stop all this talk of benching Wentz which personally I never bought into the idea at all.

I did buy into it as at least a possibility if the Colts were truly out of the playoff chase going into that Houston game (like maybe at 3-9 or even 4-8), which is why I rooted for them to beat the Jets and Jags.  With those two wins under their belt, they simply cannot be in a position to tank the season before that Houston game is over.  So now the gloves are off, I hope they lose the rest and finish 5-12!

I’m with ya bud. Overall I didn’t think they would risk benching Wentz and potentially ruining him. Also what kind of message would they send to their team, the league, and their fan base if they simply benched Carson for a pick? I just didn’t see it happening unless Carson really stunk it up. He’s been up and down, but enough ups to think he still could be their guy. If he were really down they likely would have benched  him because they don’t think he’s their guy.

It was already reported that there was a handshake agreement between Howie and Ballard that the Colts won't try to swindle/cheat the Birds out of the pick, the snap threshold was put in for a legit injury taking place.

This was a non-issue from the start.

Never heard about that, but Wentz dealt with a surgery, two bad ankles, and his wife being pregnant to play. There was no way he would do some handshake agreement behind the scenes just to help screw over the Eagles like some of these high school gossipers tried to make a thing around here.

I never really thought that they'd bench him just to avoid losing the 1st round pick. Do that and they lose future credibility/trust with every other team that they may want to trade with.

Always said I think that could be how it was agreed on, but never read anything beyond pure speculation.. Got a source for me maybe?

It was reported on WIP by Andrew Brandt or somebody like that. He also said "Chris Ballard is determined to pick a better player in the 2nd round than Howie will with the Colts 1st rounder".

Ballard clearly enjoys an easy challenge then.

Doesn’t seem that difficult.

In most years, he could pick in the 3rd or 4th round and still outpick Howie's 1st.  Sounds like a safe bet.

Wow. I'm sure glad I don't pay money for HBO. That was maybe the worst "football" production I've ever seen. I don't care about their pregnant wives, stupid children... and I don't need to see the dude brushing the kid's teeth for goodness sake. They might has well have filmed the babies coming out. And did we really need to hear the guy saying f--- like twenty times in a row? We get the idea after once or twice.

I guess I should've known better, but I've never watched the show before. Give me the good old days of NFL films.

It's not about football, it's about everything else.

And I say that as someone who's never had HBO and never seen a single episode.  Didn't need to.

Yeah, I get the premise now. Ughh.

I tried to Watch All or Nothing with the Eagles on Amazon. I couldn't get through a full episode. I just don't care about that stuff. Never watched Hard Knocks and I never will.

All or Nothing: Philadelphia Eagles (TV Series 2020– ) - IMDb

I'm pretty sure it was about the 2019 season. Watching them drive around in cars with their kids. Meh. There was a lot of local talk radio excerpts too. Some people like that stuff, but it's not for me.
