Didinger is as clueless as it gets.

So success running the ball in the fourth quarter when the Bucs are protecting a lead is an indication that running on the Bucs would have been possible early in the game?

I know the game yesterday we depressing but we lost to the reigning Super Bowl champions by 6 points.  We had about 5-6 blatant PI calls not called, had an interception somehow overturned, threw for 115 yards, a punter who was shanking all night, horrible taunting call, and only had time of possession for 20:04.

The game was a lot closer than most here want to admit, despite Hurts having a very bad game and Sirianni refusing to run the ball.

He knows nothing about the scheme. Nothing. He is not a "football guy". He has made a career on being a stats guy.

He can give you stats to tell you the offense sucks. He has no idea how to even begin explaining why it sucks. His guess is only as good as RTK's or bacarty's.

No, it really wasn't.

It was real close when it became 28-7 with 5 mins left in the 3rd. Similar to how it became 34-14 with 10 mins left in the 4th against Dallas. Or maybe it was close like it was 17-3 with 5 mins left in the 4th quarter against the niners.

A "few”?   You’re kidding right??   A few?     Yeah. Just me a small select others.  Sure.  You might want to pay attention in here a little.  The guy is a stooge.  I don’t blame him.  I would have said Yes too.  Lowie is the guilty one.

Some agree with you that Siri sucks.

Others want to see a different QB run his system first because they pay attention to what they are watching and rather than making a knee jerk reaction on the coach they see tons of WRs open, reads being missed, throws being missed, etc. And would like to see how the coach's system looks with somewhat competent QB play.

Not everyone agrees with you. Some are being reasonable.

Yeah i hated that argument i saw on Twitter from people. Just cause you had success running later in the game doesn’t mean at the start you would’ve. First the Bucs likely took their foot off the gas when they got up 21 points. Secondly later on the game they likely were worn out more playing on a Thursday’s and 3rd game in 11 days. Much more fresh at the start of the game then the end of the game. Also I’d have to go back and watch but felt the Bucs were trying to prevent the big play down the field and a fast score so weren’t expecting the eagles to remotely run being down double digits with under 15 mins left

What does "and football guy" mean? I never heard of that credential. If you know anything about Diddy, hes a stats guy. Not an analyst. He has no idea anything about the offensive scheme. His football takes are as stupid as any of the worst TATE posters. He is a HOF writer because of his stats.

I like Ray because he's a classic "Philly guy" and he truly bleeds green.  That said, his emotions tend to get the best of him at times and have for the past 30 years...which is fine but it's best to take his "takes" for what they're worth....which is basically a "very passionate fan" who knows how to write and knows his "sports history", (stats, etc etc).

I really liked Gowan last year and was really surprised he slid.  Was banging the drum for him sixth.   Could be a good mix with McPearson and Scott. Gowan has good speed and agility and nice size.

Should be a great situation for Ertz.  Takes his wife back to her home state and nearer the west coast where he is from. Cardinals competing so good for his chances.

Would have liked more than a fifth but with McGowan it is okay compensation.  All around a good thing for player and team. Plus we get some cap relief.

Pretty much this.  I actually think Sirianni has done a fantastic job with the WR's, they truly are better as a group this year, etc.  I think he lacks experience with QB's and Hurts really needs a "QB whisperer" type of coach and I don't think Sirianni is that guy.  So yes, IF Hurts continues to struggle, I would like to see another QB run his system before writing him off as a coach.

3 hours ago, Iggles_Phan said:

Crazy thought... what if Sirianni would much rather have Minshew at QB, and is setting Hurts up for failure to a certain extent, in order to build the case that Hurts can't be 'the guy' and that it is time to turn the page?   We know that when Sirianni was hired, he was expecting Wentz to be the QB.  What if he's not tailoring the offense specifically for Hurts, so that he can make the old switcheroo, but is waiting for the right time to do it?

Ok, end of the conspiracy theory stuff from me.

The flip side is that Sirianni might just not be a very good coach... and more importantly, that they missed the boat in putting anyone with HC experience or even prior coordinator experience on the coaching staff to help him.  Going with a ridiculously young staff can be good, but there's something to be said for having some grey hairs around that have been through it all to balance youthful exuberance or idealism.   Andy had some old salts on his original coaching staff with JJ (and the DL coach he brought with him who's name escapes me) and Rod Dowhower.  JJ and the DL coach had seen it all.  Dowhower was a former HC.  They knew the NFL and had to deal with things.  Andy wasn't thrown to the wolves without some mentor help in house.  Sirianni seems to have been set adrift at sea without a compass and was expected to 'figure it out'.   He needs some time to grow into the job as well, I think.  But, what we are seeing right now is a lot of inexperience across the board!

I agree the lack of a veteran coaching staff is a problem.  I mean even a veteran QB coach would make sense.  It's an issue.

When is the last time WRs have caused 5TD to be called back due to penalties.

That was absolutely awful.  The worst part is that he saw the ball coming from a mile away and instead of (literally) taking 2 steps back and intercepting the lob (ball looked like a grade school lob pass as long as it was in the air) he decides to jump 6 inches in the air.  Like seriously, dude?

Meh, some of those calls were highly questionable, imo.  I mean, come on, there's contact on just about every pass play in the NFL between WR's and DB's....how many times have our WR's been absolutely groped this year with no calls?  How many scores could have those "no calls" led to?

Everything Seth Joyner said is spot on.  Every last word.

No.  I'd have treated it with some credibility if he'd spent one second to acknowledge the QB is playing badly.  Defaulting to a stance that the offense is bad because the coaches are bad doesn't hold water.  If the Eagles had an experienced QB with some track record of success struggling badly in the offense, I would default blame to Sirianni.

The fact is, a lot of time the players deficiencies make the coaches look dumb.

Aren’t you guys being a little harsh? If that’s not Tom Brady it’s probably an interception. He threw a beautiful pass. If that’s Hurts/Wentz it’s definitely an interception.
