Sure, but I still think it may go unnoticed without contact made between the two players. At that point they need to throw a flag before that escalates.

Ask anyone that doesn’t have a bias, it’s a BS call that can’t be made in the 4th quarter of a score wise, close games.  The important part, most people who see the video believe the penalty was on Fournette since he initiated the contact.

Something about the basketball in his background that made him distribute the football really well in the RPO.  I was just watching J.T. O’Sullivan’s analysis on Carson Strong — he’s running an Air Raid system at Nevada but distributes the ball extremely well with fast processing and accuracy.  He just threw for 377 yards and 6 TDs last game, with his WR1 out injured.

Strong was also highly recruited basketball player before injuring his knee in high school

Strong is the best pure passer in this upcoming draft class, he’s not been mentioned  in the group QB’s going first because of his knee.  His High School senior year injury was pretty bad, with 8 nails going in, plus he’s had two more clean-out surgeries on it and just this past August, he missed practice and had it drained.  Hopefully Eagles fans like him, because all those surgeries mean one thing, Howie loves him.

If Kenny Pickett had a little better arm and didn’t have 8 1/2” hands, he’d probably go in the first round, he plays with two gloves like Bridgewater does.

Having two better linebackers wouldn’t make Singleton a better tackler, but I suppose it would help him miss fewer tackles since they would make them instead.

Do you seriously have a gripe with Alex Singleton?  I see (basically) the same type of player he was last year.  Who's responsible for getting your players in a "position to make plays" on defense?  How about using them to their strengths?

He gets some of those tackles because it is Wilson’s zone and Singleton comes flying in to make the tackle because Wilson is around the bal but won’t make the first contact.  But Singleton has bad instincts.  He shows that in coverage all the time. He likes to play LB as a downhill S but he misses the read way too much.

I haven't focused on him enough this year so I can't really agree or disagree.  I know he's looked awkward on a few plays and has been getting targeted on pass plays quite a bit but (at least) he's making the plays (most of the time). That said, seems like scheme is the bigger issue when it comes to Singleton, no?

He leads in tackling because our opponents are targeting him more then double any other defender on our team and he is giving up the catch and having to make the tackle after. So he leads in tackling and leads the team in giving up the reception. Awesome

Its not always good to be leading in tackling on a poor team. Now if we had a good team, nice defense and he was leading, different story.

Again, is that an "Alex Singleton" issue or is that more of a "scheme issue"?

Im curious to see if Singleton makes the pro bowl just because he might have a great tackle total. That would be funny.

That would be awesome lol

Whoa.

LB Nakobi Dean would look great in Eagles green. Gonna be one of the good ones at the next level.

Their safety's aren't too shabby either

Whoa.

The refs in the NFL would find a way to flag him for unsportsmanlike conduct.  If he played on the Eagles, he would get flagged for taunting.

Yes, I have a problem with Singleton. Just like I have a problem with Eric Wilson. I hate watching these two miss tackles, get easily blocked and failing to find receivers in their zone.

How high will Nakobe Dean go?

High enough for us to pass on him.

SOMEONE has to make a tackle on every play.  He can make a tackle every single play 5 yards down field and lead the team in tackles.

Did you see him miss at least 5 tackles against TB?

You guys act like Fournette is some 180 lb scat back.  Fournette has made a living out of barreling through defenders.  Not too many LB's would have "looked good" trying to solo tackle Fournette after he breaks through the line.  He drags people with him all-the-time.  He's basically LeGarrette Blount 2.0.

This year Singleton reminds me of a guy in a bar trying to ride a mechnical bull when he is trying to make a tackle.  Last year he showed promise. This year he looks like a CFL LB that doesn't belong.

Caleb Williams completing a few passes over the middle on a drive? Hurts needs to sue Riley or Saban.

But he leads the team in tackles.  So he must be good.

The problem is that he gets carried 3 to 4 yards before making the tackle and many of those times it has resulted in 1st downs.  We need stronger LBs that can knock guys back a yard or two, instead of being carried 3 to 4 yards before bringing the guy down. I know you and I are on the same page. But, other fans need to open their eyes and do some basic math.

Alex Singleton wasn't good last year either. He just made a lot of tackles.

He was better last year, but he was the best of a bad group.  And, this year Gannon is running a soft zone scheme with the safeties playing deeper which gives the LBs even more responsibilies of covering more area in the passing game and reacting to the run.  It is a stupid scheme to run when the LBs are the weakest area on the defense.  If you have great LBs that have great instincts and can play sideline to sideline, then the scheme would make more sense.  It is mindblowing that Gannon and Sirianni talk about creating schemes that play to players strengths, yet they do the exact opposite.

Wilson has 36 tackles.  Singleton leads the NFL with 67 tackles.  No one is saying Singleton is the best LB in the league but he makes plays (albeit misses a few).

The BLOG has "overvalued" the LB position for the better part of 10 years, imo.  This isn't the1990's when you had a run-heavy league and guys like Seth Joyner,  Byron Williams, etc would flourish since teams would run it 50-60% of the time.   And when they were in pass protection, they would be schemed against a RB and sometimes a TE.

Nowadays, defensive coordinators are almost forced to run a zone heavy defense and that tends to create mismatches against LB's.  That's something that a defensive coordinator needs to adjust IN GAME.  If you see them targeting your LB's on the majority of pass plays, then you start playing DB's on pass downs.  If they start running more, then go back to LB's, etc. As much heat as Jim Schwartz got when he was here, he was excellent at it.  (For the most part).

For every 1 of Micah Parsons, you're going to get 30 LB's with a lesser skill set.  So unless you want to use a top 10 pick every few years on a LB, we're probably going to have guys like Bradham, Hicks, Singleton, etc most years.  Hopefully we can do a better job with developing and scheming them., etc.

Name one play he has made this year?  To me, making a play equates to something that changes the course of the game, effects down an distance and has an impact.  He has done nothing.  He makes tackles 5 yards from the LOS.  That's all.

Sacks, TFL, INT, FF, FR, pass break ups, heck even a tackle at the LOS is making a play.  He hasn't done a thing.

Riders watched as a woman was raped on a SEPTA train but no one called 911, police say.

Nice job Philadelphia. We can beat up Cowboys fans for saying Eagles suck but a whole train full of people doing nothing while a women is being raped….

How soon until Rattler is in the transfer portal?  He doesn't come off as the kind of guy who takes benching in a good way.
