I went to my parents house for a family dinner. My father works maintenance for a private high school in Naples, FL and by circumstance the school has recently hired Eugene Chung as the executive athletic director (it’s a bunch of rich kids and they are trying to recruit better players). He even brought the ring in one day to show everyone. I asked my dad to ask him his real thoughts on Howie Roseman. Will report back if he goes through with it.

That ring is still awesome and just reminds me of the stories of how everyone that was involved got one and even those that weren't with the Eagles in 2017(that one secretary) got one too

Yup basically sums it up. You also have how many stories of someone trying to stop someone or save someone and they end up getting in trouble for the way they went about it.

One of the 9/11 shows I watched the guy told the story of how he helped a guy get out of the rubble just for that guy to take off and leave the guy that just saved him to die.

Don't fall for the trap, fellas.  The focus should be on the victim.  Social media is what it is.  They generate money from clicks, views, etc. They will print the headline that gets them the most clicks without being blatantly deceiving, just about every time.

At first glance, the story painted Philadelphia in a very bad spotlight.  But when more of the story came out, it seems as if the Septa Authority called the police fast enough for them to get there and stop it.  Which leads me to conclude that (most likely) the passengers alerted the Septa official and the official called for help.

So everyone can relax.  Most people have faults but most are still "good people".  Don't let a click bait article sway your opinion without knowing all the facts.

I work in a grocery store people are effing horrible.

Howie Roseman, minutes after taking Rattler in the 1st round next year: "Listen, this is a kid who if you'd have asked somebody last September, he'd have been the #1 pick in this draft. We think we got good value here."

I've worked in grocery stores in the past as well and several other retail/customer service places throughout my career.  So yes, I get where you're coming from.  Retail sales/customer service can be trying.  It takes patience and enough self confidence to be able to accept the fact that if the customer/client is out of line/wrong/over demanding, etc you are able to handle it in a fashion (and put everything you do on this board to the side,  debating etc, lol) and make the customer understand the situation and leave satisfied with the results.  And you need to be able to do it over and over again, every single day.

I learned to listen, take a few breaths, smile (actually helps you feel better as well) and when it's resolved, I forget about it and move on.  (Doesn't matter how bad I may have been treated, etc)  I might say a couple of sentences out loud, in the back, after they leave just to blow off steam but after that, it's done.  The last thing you ever want to do is take that stuff home with you.  All that does is add more "fuel to the fire"...and the next day, it will be worse, etc.

Eventually, when it no longer bothers me, I'll look back at that individual situation and see what caused the issue.  If it's something I could have done better, then I'll try it the next time, etc.  And I don't do this "just for business/customer service"...I do it for myself so that the next time, it will be that much easier to "overcome", which is less stressful for me. Eventually, most situations stopped bothering me...and believe it or not, as a result, my interactions with customers/clients are usually positive and stress free.  People can see that as well.  The coolest thing is seeing a disgruntled customer but then being able to "turn them around" so that they become "nice"...and they are usually grateful.  Win-Win.

Every person should have to work in retail and restaurants, for at least 3 months just to learn how to treat people.

I did part time at Lowes 6-10pm night just for spending money, kids college. Etc..  I had no idea how nasty some people are and I only lasted 2 months because a customer literally screamed at a cashier (he actually called an 18 year old girl the C word) among other things for being short staffed, I called him retarded for yelling at cashier who doesn’t do store staffing, or the store schedule and since my final retort was going to take place in the parking lot, another employee called the police and she got fired for calling the police to the store, lol.    Just in Lewes, Delaware that Lowes since 2018, has gone through about 250 cashiers.

Totally agree.  I worked at Dick's Sporting Goods for 4 years through college doing customer service.  It's unbelievable how rude, entitled, mean, impatient and nasty people really are.  But it really helps you learn how to deal with people across the board.  I grew so much from doing that job.

I had one gentleman try to return boxer briefs because there was no d-hole in them which is the case with many of the athletic fit ones.  He told me he couldn't get it out in time and ended up peeing his pants.  He was trying to return the boxer briefs he pissed in.   That's just the tip of the ice burg with how people acted.

Not supposed to wear those ones unless youre big enough to hand out the bottom. What an idiot.

A customer called a black teen the N word to his face because we ran out of something. The whole " the customer is always right" has opened people up to do and say whatever the hell they want. I work for a small chain so they tend to cater to the worst customers because they can't afford to lose customers. So we just have to take it.

The thing is he was so confused.  I had no idea how to react.  What was almost even worse was people that would return clothes after what smelled like having them in an ash tray and act like it's exactly as it was when they bought it.

I can believe it, had them bringing in used toilet seats so they could match theirs, and then leave the old ones on a desk,  lightbulb returns that were 7-8 years old, customers that can’t go 5 minutes without their dogs, so they bring ‘em in and let them piss and crap everywhere, customers getting a full appliance order at 9:55 PM, just so they can hold a store of minimum wage workers hostage for 30 minutes, etc..,   The staffing issues were the biggest complaint, idiot customers saying " no one wants to work, they get too much unemployment,”, uh no, they get screamed at way to much by their bosses and customers for $12-13 an hour.   That’s why !!

The whole pet thing is getting a bit out of hand.  I love dogs and totally support the need for service dogs.  The problem is people are just using their every day pet and saying it's a service dog taking it everywhere.  They've also made it that you can get practically any animal to be a "service" animal for having the tiniest symptoms of any sort.

Here in York there is legitimately a guy with a service alligator.

Yep. I’ve worked over 10 years in the retail/restaurant business. I have so many dumb stories of people being complete idiots and aholes. One of my favorites is the customer sending back a bowl of pasta and asking we recook it but not so hot (temperature wise).

I respect your opinion enough to agree to disagree.  (Not like we have much of a choice) But let's see how Singleton performs the rest of the year before writing him off.  Fair enough?

He’s a FA next year.

Worked at Target during my college years.

Taught me a lot about life and how to deal with adversity.

Those experiences have made me a better person.

We had a lady sheet down her leg and get it all over the floor. Someone said something to her so she went into the bathroom and threw her nasty ass under wear on the floor then walk right back out and continue her shopping.....

Also had a guy walk into the produce prep area pull his pants down and take a sheet in the drain in the middle of the floor while people were cutting effing fruit!

That's "crossing the line", imo.  I'm not sure what the policy is for that in most establishments but I'd likely (try) to take the "high road", diffuse the situation as best as I can and then I would escort the customer out of the establishment.  I would let them know that type of language is equivalent to an "attack" on a person, therefore would need to leave.  It would be up management/owners whether they would allow them back after that, imo.

His special teams skills alone will likely get him signed somewhere else.  It's a matter of whether we would want to resign him, for how much, etc etc.

Knowing corporate they probably told management to give him a gift card for his inconvenience.

I get what you are saying with the last post to me and I don't take that stuff home with me but, these last 2 years with everything going on there really is no reasoning with people anymore they have lost their freaking minds. Getting death threats and threats to  cause physical harm and being wished death on us.

As a Target team member, I was called the worst things imaginable.

Never phased me though. Life outside of work was great. Dated a hot Brazilian who worked in our photo lab.

Her hot naked a55 made it tolerable 🤣

I'm sure every job has downsides and crazy people, but you make working for Target sound like a gulag.
