So he should institute a new offense because the QB can not run the offense put in place for him ?????

I'm from the school of thought that the head coach/OC run their offense, and it's the QBs job to learn it and implement it properly.  I don't believe Sirianni and Steichen are "dumbing down" the offense for Hurts -- I think they call the plays into Hurts and he either runs the plays or checks out of them.

I expect we'll see more emphasis on the run game over the next few weeks, if only because Nick will be tired of the media's constant questions about it.  If Hurts is checking out of these run plays and keeping the ball, only to make bad decisions and/or bad throws, then he'll be shortening his own leash.  At some point Nick will say to Howie "I need to evaluate the entire offense, not just the QB" and sit Hurts down.  I suspect that will take place sometime between after Week 10 (if the Eagles don't win at least 2 of the next 4 games) and the bye week after Week 13 game against the Jets.

If Hurts is still playing badly and still in there after the bye week then it'll be apparent to everyone he's being given the entire season.

Cris Carter had a funny soliloquy on GMFB about eating right before games and not getting into situations like the above.  And how many players barf on the field and pee/crap themselves.  Very funny to listen to

Okay, you go live on that hill that Sirianni isn't a disaster as HC.

Is there a single thing he does well as HC because I can't think of anything.   This is an extremely undisciplined team and goes out there and plays like one of the dumbest teams in the league.  Horrific in game play calling to go with it.

Yeah, but that spazz "breaking down the plays" is a .....spazzz...

He does a good job though.  And is showing quite clearly that Jalen Hurts is not an NFL QB.

He's a dork.

I didn't need for him to tell me that.  I knew that when we drafted him and said it.  Numerous times.  As I'm sure you remember.

Yep, I don't need it either, but, some folks want to blame everyone else.  They have to have a play broken down and analyzed to see the QB sucks.

He is calling what fits Jalen Hurts skill set, the offense built around what he does best.  RUN PASS OPTION

It is not his fault that the QB, Jalen Hurts, continues to pick the pass option only.

Who gives the flawed QB that OPTION????

The coaching staff.  The Coaching staff needs to take the option away from him, because it is not working.  The "scheme" is NOT WORKING with this QB.

I mean what offense do you run? Hurts has never been asked to play under center. Your asking the coaching staff to take the ball away from Hurts. Might as well stick Minshew in there and see how the offense works.

Sirianni isn’t absolved from some of the poor play calling and design, but if you have a QB that can’t run a fairly simple offense, there isn’t much hope for them in any scheme.

But, is it really that poor.  Every week we see people break down film and he is scheming multiple receivers open.

Some of it seems to be, especially in the red zone. I agree with you though, I see receivers open all the time on the broadcast and it’s even worse with the all 22.

Hurts could probably just throw to smith every play and be more successful than he is now.

I’m not sold on Sirianni, but I think he has much more room to grow and learn where with Hurts I think this is just what he is.

You know what fits any and every QB's skill set, especially one that is young, inexperienced and struggling?  Calling a consistent run game.  Not completely ignoring the running game.

It is 100% Nick Sirianni's fault that 6 games in he still refuses to call plays that are purely just a running play with no option tied to it.

I don't believe we'll really know anything about how good or bad NS is until we get consistent QB play. There are a lot of things that still bother me, like team discipline and such, but a lot of that is about leaders on the team, to include to a minor extent, the HQ fostering an environment of accountability. BG I know does that as does Kelce and some of the others, but I don't know that we have that kind of player leadership. I am sure that Hurts tries, but the team is likely tuning him out at this point. I expect it to get worse unless we start winning. They also have a current built in (not credible) excuse of playing a lot of tough games in a row. We'll see who this team really is and what NS has as we get into the last half of the season.

That’s some serious production.

If he's anything to the team like he is with the media and just speaking cliche quotes and parables, absolutely.

Hopefully with a easy schedule you see some week over week improvement , by the staff and players

I tend to agree with geoff Mosher who’s on the radio right now. Sirianni isn’t doing a very good job he probably needs to make adjustments and make improvements to his playcalling to ultimately keep his job in the future.

However that does it take away from the fact there are plays out there on tape where Jalen hurts is just missing wide receivers or taking off or not doing what needs to be done to secure being a NFL starting quarterback and future of the QB position. And the last two weeks he’s been bad for the majority of the game and not getting consistency from him or any improvement from game to game.

Two things can be true at the same time.

I agree with that. But people are also acting like the solution to fix everything is running the ball. Will it help? Probably. But it's not just going to make Hurts look like a million bucks because they handed the ball off to Sanders 10 more times.

I’ve been saying that for a couple weeks now. Even if you ran the ball 50-50 that does it mean when the wide receivers are open and throws need to be made that he’s automatically going to make more of them because he’s having less passing attempts. He could be the same with less attempts. And that’s still a problem.

Sirianni needs to change up his game plan to run the ball more and that’s pretty obvious. However even if you do that and teams are going to try to take that away from you until hurts becomes more consistent as a passer and make the throws he’s missing.

I certainly haven't suggested that it will make Hurts look like a million bucks.  Hurts is coming off of two really bad passing games.  He isn't trending in the right direction that you would want to see a young QB go in as they start to gain more experience.  But running the ball will help Hurts, it will help this offense, it will help any offensive line but especially our heavily injured and shuffled offensive line, it will help the defense and ultimately it will help Sirianni.

Will it be the answer to all the issues and turn Hurts into Mahomes throwing the ball?  No but will help everyone, Hurts included.  It's such an obvious decision to create a level of improvement and to help put your struggling young inexperienced QB in a better position where it's not on him to determine the outcome of 85-90% of the offensive plays with only 10 NFL starts under his belt.

I wasn’t directing that at you. There’s a lot of people on Twitter and in other threads who think Hurts is fine and if they ran the ball would be 5-1 or something stupid like that.
