1 day into the bye week. The Cowboy way.

So predictable.

The eagles have 3-5 winnable games the rest of the way.  With that, I expect them to actually win 2-4 of them.

I count 10 winnable games (because the Cowboys will probably be resting everyone Week 18). They probably win 4 or 5. Zero chance they win less than 3.

If the Eagles let Sanders walk in free agency then I would love to see them try to sign what should be a discounted Saquon Barkley in FA after these two injury riddled seasons.  He has spent his entire career in the worst situation possible.  He is so immensely talented and still young that I can see him getting back to his elite level of play if he gets to play behind a good offensive line for the first time in his NFL career.

That bellinger homer feels like the the start of another atlanta/Georgia collapse

Wins from an easy schedule would give false hope though

Not for the 2017 Super Bowl Champion Eagles.  Wins and playing well only breeds confidence and real sincere confidence breeds greatness.

Should have kept Matzek in for the 8th inning. His offspeed stuff was filthy.

If they lose tonight, now down 6-5, it might not look good for them. Bullpen game tomorrow.

Yup. I thought they should’ve went for the kill tonight with how matzek was pitching. Go up 3-0 and then worry about tomorrow. They tried to get it so matzek could pitch tomorrow meanwhile tomorrow you might not need him as the dodgers bats might have woken up.

Yeah I'm sure Wentz would love that move. 🙄

Yeah I seriously doubt that after he had a complete meltdown last season as if his name was Richie Tenenbaum.  Colts and Reich will have to walk on glass with all of their backup QB moves while Wentz is their.

Lol

But, is it really that poor.  Every week we see people break down film and he is scheming multiple receivers open.

It's the 'cool' thing  to do to hate on Siri.  He's an unknown, doesn't have experience, comes off like a dumby poophead, makes stupid comments about RPS, etc.  Honestly watching the breakdowns and seeing what's happening on the field, the scheme should work if executed properly.

Interesting read By joel corry especially these paragraphs

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/agents-take-breaking-down-zach-ertz-trades-financial-implications-for-eagles-cardinals-and-dallas-goedert/amp/

After Ertz's injury-plagued 2020 campaign, Caric was given permission to shop a disgruntled Ertz for a trade. The most interested suitors were the Bills and Colts. Ertz, who is also in a contract year, was willing to take a pay cut where the difference could be made up through incentives to facilitate a change in scenery.

Eagles executive vice-president/general manager Howie Roseman almost dealt Ertz to Buffalo in July, but had a change of heart. Goedert's possible inclusion in a potential trade with the Texans for Deshaun Watson kept Roseman from pulling the trigger on an Ertz deal. Surprisingly, the relationship with Ertz had been mended enough during training camp for him to declare near the end of the preseason that he wanted to finish his career in Philadelphia.

Wentz loves Hurts.   Plus he knows he's twice the QB Hurts is.  The entire league knows.

A few interesting stats from Sheil on The Athletic:

Link to article

Here’s where the Eagles rank offensively in a number of categories:

  • DVOA: 18th
  • EPA per drive: 20th
  • Success rate: 27th
  • Points per game: 20th

I’ll be honest. I thought it was going to be a lot worse than that. The offense has not been good, but statistically speaking, it has not been a complete disaster.

Having said that, it’s been a tough watch. TruMedia has a stat called success rate, which is EPA-based. Simply put, it looks at whether each individual play got the team closer to scoring or not. But it weighs good plays and really good plays the same. So it’s more a measure of consistency than overall performance. The Eagles rank 27th in success rate. This is another area where the game-planning looks terrible. The offense ranks 32nd in success rate in the first halves of games.

There are a couple of defining characteristics. One, the Eagles are extremely pass-heavy. On early downs in score-neutral situations, they pass the ball 61.3 percent of the time.

phipassing_wk6-1024x458.png

That’s fifth-highest. Look at the teams above them. Three have top-level quarterbacks in Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert. The fourth is the Miami Dolphins, and they are not a team you want to be emulating right now.

The Eagles have been in shotgun on 92.6 percent of their snaps — by far the highest percentage of any offense. If they were to keep up that percentage, it would be the highest of any team in the past seven years, narrowly beating out the Chip Kelly-coached Eagles (92.4 percent) from 2015. Currently, the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers are the only other teams above 80 percent. The league average is 63.6 percent.
