and those were based on the idea that he really did always try to finagle extra comp picks out of many situations. NOT as I_P suggested- that he doesnt care about them.

This is true to a point. Teams are playing 2 high against us and rushing 4, because they don't think Hurts has the patience to win in the pocket. We're not getting blitzed.

More people just wanted to cut sendejo cause he sucked and rather have had a comp pick then Keep running him out there when he was useless.

And we cut Fort to save a comp pick too.

The sendejo situation was more he was just awful it make no sense to keep playing him and you rather have a comp pick instead of his awfulness. And potential to destroy his own teammates.

right so it seems I_P's assertion is erroneous.  He does care about comp picks as supported by words and actions. And those moves caused an incredibly annoying phase here in the blog where people seriously would suggest the stupidest moves that made 0 football sense just because they thought it made sense to get a comp pick.

And he was never playing for us is why they did it. Fault coaching staff cause he went on to be productive with the ravens

Ill take your word for it, but Id be interested to know over the last 5 years or so how our amount of comp picks stacks up against other teams.

I know a lot of people, many times have cheered " COMP PICKS!!!" because of an established history of accumulating picks here.

I considered those to be mostly sarcastic posts.

Seems that maybe, just maybe, they realize they need to change things up on offense.

We might see a whopping 10 runs this weekend!

they were, but they were meant the opposite way from what you remember. The people who took Howie's words and went way overboard looking for more ways to get more comp picks. Making stupid suggestions because "Howie said he does everything with the intent of acquiring more comp picks!"

Seems like you’re wildly exaggerating here. Unless you have an example to share.

He went on to be productive in a completely different scheme, then was cut and no one else wanted him so he re-signed for cheap.

It seems theres a lot of people here who would rather not admit it. Im just happy that phase is past. Now apparently the history is being revised to say he doesnt actually care about them. Honestly, I prefer this new narrative.

He looked very good here, in our scheme. But maybe it was fools gold, like when Singleton was looking good this pre-season and suddenly sucked horribly by week 1.

I have no real reason for posting this, but I feel as though this will become a gem at some point depending on what happens on the field:

Yeah, I think you’re also exaggerating how good he looked here too in very limited action.

Frankly he likely would’ve been better than what they ran out there that season. Also i don’t think he was cut by the ravens. They didn’t pick up his option and he went back to the ravens at a lower price as no one wanted to sign him.

We sure will!!

Wait a minute .... unless you mean RB getting the ball

other people saw it too. easy to forget though with such limited action. like how Howie already forgot Tyree Jackson played this pre-season.

Howie signed Mike Wallace to a deal that included a ridiculous weight clause in hopes of circumventing the comp pick formula. He signed guys to contracts with options so that it would not be picked up (instead of cut) and maintain comp pick eligibility. He cut two players to save comp picks.

Anyone who suggested moves back then with comp picks in mind were in all likelihood being quite reasonable. Unless someone has an actual outrageous example to show.

Yep.  On the first series when he scrambled for the first down.  He had a clean pocket and receivers open, but for god only knows what reason, he tried to roll right and rolled right into pressure instead of stepping up in the pocket.

Oh boy

"the name plates on the back of his OL jerseys"?

Seriously, what does that mean?  Obviously, no one else has the exact same vantage point as he does.  BUT, at the same time, plenty of people know what he should be seeing out there, most importantly, his coaches.

Marcus Epps time. He's been ok. This does take us out of 3S sets though.
