 OOOOOF.

Lots to unfold here.

1) Watson wont start enough games(if any) to really effect the draft pick

2) Yes, Watson has the numbers and is Flashy, but is he really a franchise changer?  He had better talent in Houston(on both sides of the ball) and didnt do much with it

3) I'm not giving up 3 first and 3 2nd's for anyone not named Rordgers or Mahommes.

1. I hope he does. I want that pick as bad as possible so it loses maximum value.

2. Yes, he is. Top 5 QB. They almost beat a world beaters Chiefs team on the road in the playoffs.

3. You'd give up 3 firsts for a 37 year old QB? On a team that isn't quite ready to contend yet? By the time the Eagles are SB contenders under Rodgers he'll be 38 or 39. That's crazy. But you wouldn't for a 26 year old? C'mon.

Where else do you expect to get an elite top level QB from? The draft class is terrible for 2022. Elite QBs young enough to sign never hit free agency. The Eagles will be stuck in a year to year "let's desperately hope we stumble into a franchise QB" mode. Some teams go 5-10 years without getting a franchise QB. Or longer. There's no guarantee, none, that the Eagles will be able to find one. Actually, it's more likely they waste 3 first rounders over the next X amount of years on swings and misses at QB. Given that, might as well just trade for one you know is really good so you have the hardest position in pro sports to find taken care of.

Please cite where you came across this information. You stated it as fact.

Chris Simms, Florio, and others have said he'd approve a trade to the Eagles. The Eagles have been engaged with Houston for him. Joel Cory reported the Eagles kept Ertz because they thought they may be including Goedert in a Watson trade. The Eagles wouldn't even engage Houston if Watson wouldn't accept a trade to the Eagles.

I rather have hurts. Cheaper and less injury prone.

Tua was the most overhyped draft prospect of my lifetime.  He aims the ball, he's not tall, he's not fast, he's not strong, and he's anything but healthy with -- what might be -- a degenerative hip

Watson doesn’t make Miami instant threat this year at all. they’ll have to get a new QB learning playbook, chemistry with WR, and a guy who hasn’t played since last year. Who also has all the distractions going on.

next year is a different story

The overhyped and injury part has peaked the eagles interest lol

I never understood the whole Tua hype.  He didn't have the arm of a Herbert/Allen to be slated in so high

I highly doubt he even plays this year. Their owner is just hellbent on getting his future franchise Qb he’s been searching for since basically Marino. That said if actually plays they still can beat teams like jets (x2), houston, giants and be in games against Carolina, saints and NE (won with tua at QB)

Make it a 5 team trade and the Eagles can the QB they have really coveted over the years....

Marcus Marioto

Looking forward to the Jeff McLane article in January 2023 that said the Eagles passed on Watson, because Nick Sirianni convinced Howie and Jeff he could turn Hurts into a franchise QB... the day after Sirianni is fired.

I could see him playing after their bye, maybe just to get some live reps in with starters. But somebody was saying with Watson the Dolphins can become a playoff threat this year and i really don’t see that happening. AFC is too stacked and competitive this year, and Dolphins record makes it even harder for that kind of a push. Like you said he might help them get a couple extra wins pushing that draft pick back.

Burrow didn’t have a Allen or Herbert arm , he is working out fine .

I don’t see them being a playoff team but if he actually plays they likely win 6-7 games (they have jets twice, houston and giants on that schedule… I’m guessing he’d plays those games which are all 2+ weeks away) which is significantly more than if they played it out with tua or brissett. Why i hope the nfl does the right thing and puts him on the exempt list. However the reporter from the Washington post is the exact reason why i leave it at a 1% chance the nfl does the stupid thing and let him play

Tua going to Philly or Washington would be hilarious

Part of me feels the Texans put this out there to try to get one last push to up the ante on what they want for watson.

And the second Miami tries to activate him for a game he will be placed on the commissioner exempt list.

Ha!

That too. He won’t affect our chances for that draft pick other than Dolphins have a worse QB starting for rest of year in Brissett

If there was a play that described the dolphins season it’s that.

The recent trade history between the Dolphins/Texans, should this deal happen, is one for the books.

Give me Tua for a day 2 pick over next year’s class. I don’t think he’s a star or anything, but I don’t think much of next year’s class aside from Corral.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of drafting that kid. I would rather him than any other QB in that draft class, oh and of course rather than Hurts. And don't give me the "he's a running QB" because he's not. He's a QB that can run in an offense that provides ample opportunity to do so. He can make his reads before taking off and has a good arm.

He's taken off with the football 15 times per game this season.  He runs too much.
