Don't agree. I think Campbell is a joke but his guys are playing more competitive and showing more buy in sitting at 0-7 while our team is on the brink of quitting with half of them looking constantly disinterested at 2-5.

Yeah Ill take the 2 wins and you can have the warm and fuzzies

Minshew is not a savior, he's not going to fix the RBs, OL or defense. At best he's a competent caretaker who could help a good team that lost their QB win some games.

On a bad team . . . he was 1-7 before he got hurt in 2020.

In 2019, he was 6-6 with a QBR of 44.6 and ANY/A of 6.44 - Hurts 38.9 and 6.39.

I'd also point out that the Eagles were 3-8-1 last year with Wentz putting up a QBR 49.6 and ANYA 3.98.

Might as well stick with Hurts:

1) fix the OL

2) can the RPOs and go to what was working before Sanders went down, run a balanced offense, more snaps under center, and play action off the run.

3) gamble on defense, if you're gonna lose, at least make it exciting. Death by a 1000 first downs is excruciating to watch.

I have no idea what your point is, but if you're arguing the way a coach speaks and acts doesn't translate to anything, you're completely wrong.

We have a top 10 OL right now. 3/5 of the OL are young. Our backup OT is young too.

The OL is the least of our worries (GM, Coaches, QB, LBs, age of DBs, EDGE #2, WR #2, etc)

I'm sticking with my prediction from last night -- Eagles 23, Lions 21

Bold prediction -- Hurts throws a TD from the pocket and Elliott banks a FG in off the upright.

Well I guess that disproves the notion that the OL isn't giving him time and he's running for his life all game, he may be running around for his life all game but this stat doesnt indicate it's due to OL play.

Time to throw isn't time to throw from the pocket, the QBs with the most time to throw are the ones that can buy time.

I chortled.

I think wearing a shirt, or stickers on a hat is a clown move so the play is according to what I expect.

Dan Campbell may have the worst roster in football but if you've watched any of there games you could tell they're more competitive play in and play out than the Eagles.

A lot of the same guys on that team that completely quit and openly hated Patricia because of the person he was and whatever ishy culture he built. The team was drinking champagne in the locker room to celebrate him getting fired.

But I'm sure that's just coincidence, or something.

Or roll out of the pocket instead of quickly going through his progressions.

There's been plenty of times where he has the time to stay in the pocket but he bailed early

Or roll out despite the pocket holding up fine.

Not sure how anyone can watch Hurts and not realize he has zero pocket presence.

You are creating a narrative that the Eagles' OL is some kind of sieve. In fact, the Eagles rank 10th for OL pass blocking win rate (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32176833/2021-nfl-pass-rushing-run-stopping-blocking-leaderboard-win-rate-rankings).

But go right ahead and keep spewing...

Did you watch the game?

Notice Hurts isn’t on the list despite bailing from the pocket constantly.

Quoting this for you, AF.

@LeanMeanGM

Lions 31

Eagles 23

Eagles are down by more than 14 points before some 4th quarter "magic" (otherwise known as the other team going into prevent).

Howie should start communicating with Watson's camp again. He was dead set on Miami, but If MIA is wavering and he's desperate to get out of HOU, there is a pathway to convince him to come here.

It's not like CAR and MIA are loaded with offensive talent, heck between Quez/Smitty/Goedert/Sanders/Gainwell, we have the most among the 3 teams.

NO NO NO.

Watson isn't going to save this team, he'll just pad his stats like he did when Houston went 4-12.

We can go 4-12 without giving up a top pick in the draft for a QB who would slime the team and probably get himself suspended again at some point.

Build the team, THEN get the QB - as the history of 1st rd QBs the last few years show, without a good team and a year or two to transition, you end up with trash.

Of all the Eagles people who cover the team, Gowton has echoed my feelings the closest. He’s very down on the team, the current dynamic, and the future, and he doesn’t beat around the bush.

BTW, the Colts had OL issues with injuries to start the season and the injury bug has hit their WR group as well, so not like they've been playing with their top O unit this entire time.  Another thing is Wentz would be able to read a D pre-snap much better than Hurts (who struggles to run RPOs) and know where to go with the ball and get it out quicker.  Hurts hesitates and has been slow to get the ball out on time.  That's not an OL issue, that's a him processing what he sees issue.  Between that and his awful pocket awareness he'd make any OL look a bit worse than they actually are.  I disagree that the end result would be the same.

And Wentz struggled the first few weeks (in a system he was familar with, so that wasn't an excuse), and improved when the Indy OL improved.

I'm not saying the OL could fix Hurts' faults, like all the other 1st rd QBs who are struggling, he needs time to learn how to play NFL QB (or not). But lacking a stable OL doesn't help.

They’re doing rookie report card on NFL network, but I think they forgot about Hurts

If that's the case that extra bought time hasn't resulted in positive plays.

Hurts has way more talent than Minshew had, so with less talent, Minshew put up better numbers.  Stands to reason that his numbers would be even better with more talent.

None of it matters until Howie Roseman is fired.

This is Derek Carr's passing chart for 2018.  Not an elite QB, just a "good" 2nd or 3rd-tier starting QB.  Looks a bit different than Hurts':

Gowton might be correct about a lot of stuff, but he lost any credibility when he said the Eagles should cut Dillard in camp. It was just so wildly stupid.

Now THAT is a bad take.

Hell, we got a draft pick for Matt Pryor!
