I know this was posted already, but it’s just insane considering Slay has been really good, Maddox has played well and Nelson has been passable.

How on earth can this happen?

Gowton might be correct about a lot of stuff, but he lost any credibility when he said the Eagles should cut Dillard in camp. It was just so wildly stupid.

No one loses credibility with one bad take, that’s just as extreme as that take was. I didn’t agree with it, but I see where he was coming from considering reports were that Dillard had like the worst camp ever and they could roll his salary over to next season by cutting him since he makes a decent amount.

As Seth Joyner said after the game, the scheme is so vanilla with no blitzing or disguises that any competent QB can look at the formation before the snap and know where to deliver the football -- long before the DL has an opportunity to make a play or create pressure.

they dont need to throw any where near our CB's, specifically Slay.

I tried explaining this last week. With how bad our linebackers are and how soft the zone is we play, there is no need to go down field and attack these guys.

BUTTT SLAAAAYYY SOOOOO GOOOOOOD EVERYONE SOOOO SCARED

You almost had a decent post. Couldn’t quite finish it off though.

His contract is fully guaranteed

This is especially troubling considering the amount of quick screens and pop throws are built in for him.

Because the safeties and LBs have all been awful in coverage.

When was the last time a LB knocked a ball down or was even in position to do so.

The safeties play so far back every snap that they have zero chance to make a play on the ball unless its a 40 yard bomb.

The lack of creativity on D is compacted by the lack of talent at LB and S and vice versa.

Yup. We're losing this game.

Not only that they are going to eat our knee caps when they do lol

Question is if hurts faced our defense who’d look better?

That's spreading the ball around. He was hardly pressured though

Nope. It was stupid, and underscored just how emotional he is as a writer/fanboy. The Eagles would have taken a $7.3M I’m dead cap to cut him, and actually would have lost cap space with the move.

Gardner Minshew would look like Joe Montana compared to Jalen Hurts.

I saw Davion Taylor hit 21.5 mph when he bit and was torched on a FB wheel route

@LeanMeanGM i don’t usually like to bet against the eagles when it’s an even matchup or pretty close. I’ll take the eagles. KC and Bucs I’ll do it cause they are far superior teams but i totally can see the eagles just getting smoked in this game. Feels like the wheels can come completely off in This game and it’s the second game of a road trip. Plus you have Cox saying what he is and sirianni saying what he is about his DC publicly

Direction is the problem, not speed.

We suck anyway, so let him make mistakes. There is theoretical upside there. There’s none elsewhere in the LB room.

Minshew had a 37 TDs to 11 INTs ratio playing on the Jacksonville Jaguars. I think he's pretty underrated. He's not the answer, but he's way better than Jalen Hurts.

I don’t think he got emotional. He backed it up with reason. You can disagree with that reason, but he did rationalize it. He said he wasn’t close to one of the best 53 guys in camp and isn’t one of the best 53 guys on the roster, so he shouldn’t make the team, unless they can trade him. I disagreed with it, but it’s so far from the worst take I’ve heard it doesn’t even register. I’d give it a 3/10 on a scale of bad takes. And he’s been far and away the most accurate at projecting the Eagles issues and where they stand in their current landscape compared to other Eagles reporters.

Look at all those completions between 0 to 10 yards. That's a clear indictment on Gannon's deep zone defense. Talking about making it easy for a QB, allowing short, easy completions. It makes it easy for an opposing QB to get into a rhythm.  And, Gannon has been saying he is concerned about putting the players into the best position to make plays vs. running a certain scheme, yet he is clearly doing the opposite of what he is saying.

That's been brought up time after time but these Hurts humpers don't want to come to terms with that

Yup, playing football is a bit different then running 21.5 MPH.

That FB wheel route was a beaut and Taylor bit up on the run action and just let the FB go right by him and of course the safeties being 40 yards back were in no position to make a play either.

Bad scheme bad awareness by Taylor, then again we all knew as should the coaches that Taylor while a top athlete is pretty raw as an actual LB, not surprised at how far he got sucked up on the run action not surprised how far away the safeties we're from the play either👎

Eagles blitzed on 28% of the snaps yesterday, against a bad O-line, and the D-line had it's worst performance of the season. All while being the most $$$ invested position group.
