How fast will afan flip flop if Howie drafts a QB early?

"Howie saw a guy he liked and made sure he got him. If you have a QB that you have a high grade on, you take him. Can't win without a QB in this league and Howie knows this."

Does no one else see this coming? I sure do.

That's the difference between what we may want,  and understanding that the team may see things differently.

I don't want a first round QB in this draft.  I want to build the rest of the team.  Don't rush the QB decision,  make sure you get the right guy,  which may require waiting.

Even if the team shares the same philosophy,  the team may see Pickett as the right guy,  and we will then have to accept that,  as we have no control over it.

If you are in on the watson sweepstakes Peter king had this in the MMQB

Dolphins owner hasn't pushed for trade

Date: Oct. 25

Source: Peter King, NBC Sports

According to Peter King, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross isn't currently "pushing" the front office to make a move for Watson.

"I do hear that Miami owner Stephen Ross is not pushing his football people to deal for Watson right now," King wrote in his Oct. 25 Football Morning in America column. "Which is smart. It makes zero sense for a team to deal huge assets for a player when the team doesn’t know when the player will be able to play."

No worries... they will trade 3 1sts for an older QB instead... or a 'young' QB that is also dealing with potential legal issues.

Best of both worlds scenario would be using this year's picks on other areas of needs and then trading for the established proven veteran QB like possibly Russell Wilson.

Interesting tidbit though.  Eagles are 5-5 on 2 point conversions.  That says something about the coaching staff, IMO.

I think there is a misconception out there that we are a bad red zone team based off that one terrible series against the 49ers. We are 7th in the NFL with converting Red Zone trips to TD's. Although, now that I think about it, there's a lot of garbage time that probably is skewing this.

I for one, like Pickett so far. Though more towards the end of round 1/into round 2.

Our game plan might actually be genius. We know we don't have the talent to compete with most teams, so what do we do? Let them run out to a big lead, hopefully by half time. Then, they get complacent in the second half and we surge, piling up useless stats and near comebacks. It worked against a crappy team like Carolina. Against the better teams, well, if you look only at the scores at the end of games, it looks like we're close.

Second time I've seen him showing some frustration like that late in games... or after games (Came off mouthing "just run the ball" at one point after a game)

I'd say overall, that Sirianni is trending more up than Hurts is.  The first drive and a half were a revelation for me with Sirianni's scheme.  But, it's not likely to be something that Lowie want to see long term.  But, it worked... really really well.  Big plays came out of "13" personnel - Goedert throw and Gainwell angle route for the TD.  But, after that... back to the 11 personnel heavy, RPO heavy, over-reliance on Hurts, and he just hasn't responded well to that.  He says he welcomes it, but everything about his game says otherwise.

Was Sirianni even calling plays on that first drive. I may be nuts but it looked like someone else was calling them. More under center stuff, too, which means called runs rather than RPOs.

I know you know that was directed at his Alabama team after their loss, though

Teams have for sure made it an emphasis to use the check down against us with the same nonsense decoy deep routes to get 12+ yards. We play it the same conservative way every time. Poor Singleton.

How terrible it looks to be completely lost, unprepared, outcoached and out schemed on Sunday when you were golfing on Saturday.

The latest Watson rumors seemed a bit strange to me. Maybe I’m reading the tea leaves wrong, but the sentiment a couple months ago was that teams were hesitant to trade for him until the legal stuff is settled. Then out of the blue "Watson rumors heating up!” Then it was "could go down at any minute! Even this weekend!” from local Houston and amiami reportersBut Schefter and Rapsheet were like "Nah it isn’t close”

It feels to me like certain reporters are being used to try and create a market for him because Houston wants to wash their hands of this ASAP.

Especially when you keep hearing Carolina. Are they going to make two blockbuster QB trades within 6 months? Something never smelled right with any of this.

Sanders got hurt.    In the post I made about it, I mentioned this.  Wondered what might have been if he hadn't gotten hurt.  They then turned to Scott... not Gainwell.

They also were going with a lot of 12 and 13 personnel (12 with JJAW a few of those times)... and had Hurts under center far more often, and were calling actual 'runs'.

Outside of Sanders the Eagles only had 11 carries between Gainwell and Scott.  I don't think they were mostly under center. I agree Sanders getting hurt impeded the team.  I am not confident it changed things from a play calling perspective because his injury didn't really impact their possessions before LV was up 24-7.

No, he is not.

I think given the sources all of it is from either Watson's camp, the Texans or both.  Everything out of Miami has been that no deal is imminent.

If i remember correctly, heard on WIP that they ran 1 play under center after the first drive.

Part of the poor fundamentals on defense is poor coaching too, not just S players.

He was injured on the second offensive possession and the Eagles were up 7-0 at the time.

Holy crap, this team is a mess. Gonna be 2015 in here again if they lose to the Lions. God help us.
