Lowie isn't making the calls, that's just tin foil hat stuff.

I think Siri thought they could win some games allowing Hurts to use his legs while he learned to play QB. Worked once, but then opposing DCs caught on.

RPOs aren't as easy as they look, Foles is the only one I can think of who runs them at a high level.

But having Hurts drop back isn't the answer if you want to win now, especially with a constantly changing OL, a lot of run plays, especially stretch runs, require coordination between linemen.

It really comes down to getting away from doing whatever you need to have a chance to win, and focus on player development, that is, install the schemes you want to run, find out which players fit, then come the offseason retool the roster. But this requires the coaches and front office accepting their lumps this season.

Note that with all the criticism of Gannon, the defensive stats are the exact same as last year, except the Eagles in 7 games played Brady, Dak, Carr, Ryan and Mahomes.

Last year in 16 games, they got WFT twice (Smith/Haskins), NYG twice (Jones), LA (Goff), Cin (Burrows), SF (Mullens), Steelers (Ben), Balt (Jackson), Dallas (DiNucci,/Dalton), Cle (Mayfield), Seattle (Wilson), GB (Rodgers), Saints (Hill), Cardinals (Murray).

I think the lineup of lousy QBs last year obscured just how bad last year's defense really was.

It's an unfair comparison because it is 20 games versus 11.

Depends on what you are looking at.  But personally, I don't care about those gross stats.  I do care about the fact that Minshew would offer a more 'traditional' QB skill set to enable the rest of the offensive players to develop a bit more.

False.  The offense is being directed by the analytics that Lowie loves.  You really need to take off your blinders.  Lowie is destroying this franchise.

What is drop back game?  If he means the QB dropping back to pass then I'm not sure what the coaches can do with him if he won't stay in the pocket and throw.

Is this the "Q" theory of Eagles football? I doubt Hurts running is what the analytics suggest. Definitely not the RPOs.

You keep saying this... as if pass protection doesn't require coordination as the OL have to deal with stunts, blitzes and other games.

Ask any OL which they prefer, run blocking or pass blocking, and you'll pretty much know that they need to increase the opportunities to run the ball to keep the OL happy.  They ran well early, created space early, then stopped when they went away from the bigger packages... first drive a ton of 12 and 13 personnel... and then it went away quickly after that, as did their scoring.

Eagles should try and trade Reagor

Guys this is an important date in history!!!

He'd probably love to be sent to a team that has a real QB versus one that ensures that every route run on the left side or over the middle is a waste of time and effort....or to have one that doesn't over or under throw deep balls by 10 yards.   ]

Plus, with Hurts throwing to him, he is only worth a Snickers and a Mountain Dew.

Is there a non-QB player in the NFL you'd look to trade one of our first round picks for in the off-season?  If so who do you think would realistically be available?

Yeah, probably Smith’s worst game of the season.

I got thinking about this since Davante & Lazard both went on covid list. A playoff team would probably like to add another WR for depth, and Reagor being on his rookie contract helps.

Eagles luck they’ll all bust

So I’ve always thought this season was an evaluation of the QB and fully expected Hurts to get most of the season to find out about him either way for next year regardless of w/l

but now I wonder, do we also have to look at Siri the same way?  If you are even considering moving on from him after this year, don’t you need to see the O behind a competent QB to know what you have there?

what I’m thinking is, maybe the coaching situation speeds up the QB evaluation timeline?

This team is being coached to minimise player mistakes, but as they are making mistakes due to youth or lack of talent at positions, it's getting more and more vanilla at key times. Good to see some key metrics improving, but overall, it's just way too passive.  Gannon is doing his best to minimise big plays, but it just means the D is suffering death by a thousand cuts.

For his career and the players own careers, he has to let it rip a bit more and accept that occasionally it will mean his part of the team gets embarrassed.  A year with a D playing like this and maybe another will kill any linger reputation he has out there.  Get it going and badger the FO for players on other teams PS that may fit your system.  Don't be timid

Trading Flacco also accelerated the QB evaluation timeline.  If the Eagles are losing and Hurts looks like garbage in Detroit, Minshew will be ready to go.

Smoke Monday is a real person?

I've seen the many, many reports about spammer DireWolf, DuckWalk, DumbleBear, etc.  I have banned his accounts. He was a previously banned member on the old boards as well.

I used to think that you were only half the Mod that Mod12 is... but here it seems that you act in half the time.
